10 yrs plus in coal mines here. It’s a shaft mine with elevators. Straight down. Then you got Slope mines which you go down a slope. Then my fav Drift mine. Go into side of mountain. A lot easier to get out if in trouble.
Working in a mine in Australia, even mines that are currently occupied have some real weird noises sometimes. When you're in an area of the mine on your own, the brain likes to make all sorts of weird shapes and noises due to the kind of darkness that eyes can never adjust to. Freaked myself out once when I saw the shadow of what looked like a person on the wall but it was just the top of the LV's snorkel with its tubing connecting to the vehicle.
That's some insanely dangerous work you do. I'm sure the safety protocol and regulations have improved greatly over the years but I still wonder how one could willingly venture into those tunnels knowing you may never come out.
We've had a couple miners die at our mines I work at over the years and I never met or seen any of them. This one time i was all alone in my own heading and seen someone looking at me in really old looking overalls. I called on the radio and theybsaid nobody else was down there with me. We searched and searched and never found anyone. When i described the person it gave the veteran miners chills because they told me I described a guy they worked with that died years ago. Ive never felt the same down there since.
I worked in an underground mine (copper/gold, not a miner but as geologist). Only took me 8 mo to apply to another job that was a surface operation. There's always noises, creaks and groans from the rock - when you turn off your headlamp in an area without lights strung up, its unsettling. It's not even that its underground or anything - what got me was the sense that when something went wrong, it would go very wrong, and you've got to put a lot of faith in guys who are driven by production/output premiums (miners get bonuses when their heading/stope exceeds targets - greed surpasses safety).
Having worked in the mining industry for over 20years now, I can tell u that u hear a lot of weird stories of events that people have seen, and have seen yourself. Like the other comment said, in a silent dark area your mind makes up a lot of weird things. Ventilation tends to sound like voices, as one example..
That movie with Jensen Ackles is "My Bloody Valentine" and it is the first thing I thought of when you were exploring. That scene where Jensen is walking along smashing the lights still gives me the chills. Thanks for the scares and playing this game so I don't have to :)
i love how far you have come, seeing your channel grow in all these years from the first The Forrest game just makes me very happy for you. Great work man.
As someone who has grown up not far from a town (underground) that is literally on fire due to coal mines, I can agree that abandoned mine exploring is dangerous business. The bird you were talking about at the beginning is a canary; they were often used as a way to determine whether or not it was safe to go down a passage. If the canary didn't return, the miners knew that it wasn't safe.
Yeah I don't remember what the town is called but it's in Pennsylvania isn't it I have heard if you are the and step on the wrong spot the ground is so soft you can fall through into the earth because the pains of coal have burned away
The heavy breathing you heard was a creepy in the elevator at 24:41 50:47 The guy who makes those mine exploration videos has already been caught faking the ghost stuff (not that anyone should need the evidence to know that ghosts aren't real, but still). 1:04:55 Best scare of the game right here.
You’re the best Fooster. I watch several other gaming channels but you’re simply the best. Your commentary and humor in comparison to others I watch is unmatched. I love how you never let it slip in your mind that people are watching you play and will explore all the little details on the games that make them unique.
Truly one of the only channels that I am excited for when he uploads. I know Fooster was fighting Covid and glad he’s back to better health, but man did I need this. Been fighting the flu since last Sunday and I know this will help take my mind off of this crap. Thanks Fooster
Thank you very much Jegkkon! Means a lot 😊 sorry for the delay, I really tried to get back sooner but I sounded horrible and it would have been very annoying to listen to
Here's to a speedy recovery Fooster, I have nothing but respect for your commitment even during illness. In a community of "horror gamers" I find your reactions so much more entertaining than brainless screaming, your fear and anxiety carries so well and it's fun joining you in your adventures, even the co-op light hearted stuff. Really happy I found your content and channel.
For reallll, i just stumbled to this channel and thought his reactions make me feel i'm in the gameeee!! The scare, the anxiety, the 'questioning everything' phase... Good job!
@@laurensiaerika4572 I agree, some of the lesser known horrors he's played have made me think "I couldn't play this, without a diaper." So good the way he plays as if we're all behind him giving emotional support and encouragement. "The voices in his head" is a beautiful way to keep things immersive yet allows us to know he's been given a hint from the community. 10/10 unique creator and content.
Welcome back and I hope that you are continuing getting better and stronger. They use to use canaries for poison gasses in mines. Mines are ridiculously dangerous once closed down. There's a reason why they flood mines where they can as it's increasingly difficult to keep people out of them. Even with that, they've had to install metal grates to keep divers out because hypothermia and render them in some serious trouble if they aren't experienced or they get stuck in an area that hadn't been mapped or was common to have rock collapses. Connecticut they had aggressively welded grates around openings to underground mines one to protect people but in some cases to prevent people coming into contact with bears, bats, wild dogs and poison snakes.Lake Peigneur in Louisiana had an active salt mine below it until Texaco drilled some pilot holes for oil but got the coordinates wrong and ended up drilling into the ceiling of one of the mine's shafts and drained the lake into the mine which obviously dissolved the salt, luckily no one got hurt because of great safety drills. The mine is Centralia PA is so famous because there is a historic hundred year fire burning through veins of anthracite coal which is now looking more like 250 year fire. There's just simply not enough ways or resources to contain the fire so it just burns on unchallenged. Look at the byproducts of old mining through the centuries and all the retaining ponds or waste pulled out of the minds that are highly toxic now extremely corrosive basically cancer pits at best. I believe in Greece or Italy there were a number of retainment ponds that had collapsed and killed hundreds of people because the ponds were not designed to be a long-term solution and were never addressed and that isn't even taking into account how that is still happening in Europe, Africa, South America, Central America and Asia. If it's happening in the US it's either being covered up or super funded out to try and fix the damage.
I just wanted to say I have had a very trying 2023 sometimes putting me in a very bad place emotionally-mentally. All I had to do, though, was watch some Fooster to hear that laugh or giggle, and my day got a bit brighter. Thanks for what you do. I'm so happy your channel, and you are doing well.
Same boat, Tonya!! 2023 was positively awful, and my biggest accomplishment was simply making it through the year. Being able to sit back for a bit and watch a good Fooster episode has been a wonderful break from the trials of reality. It's nice to get immersed and put aside some issues temporarily. Here's to hoping '24 will bring better and brighter things for us and everyone else!
I don't know what's funnier: "Hello? Any spirits in here, I don't mean disrespect." or picking up a newspaper, reading it hearing a noise and "OH MY FUCKIN!" 😆
@50:05 Glad you’re feeling better, it’s good to have you back! I think I know which RU-vidr you’re talking about. His channel is called “Exploring Abandoned Mines and Unusual Places.” The video with the swinging chain is one of two he has about the Horton Mine. He has another creepy mine video called, “Creepy Sounds Captured in an Abandoned Mine While Reviewing the ThruNite TN12 Flashlight.” He’s also very knowledgeable about mines and often finds really cool antiques in them. My grandpa was a coal miner and from my understanding, it’s not necessarily uncommon for weird or creepy stuff to happen in mines. Miners also have their own little superstition called “tommyknockers,” and it’s believed by some that they’re the ghosts of dead miners who warn the living miners of injury, death, or collapse.
it been rought start with my wife mom passing last Monday due to Malpractice. Internal GI bleed and they sent her back home sedative. Im so glad for new video. I been stressful this week and finally something to look forward to watch.
Glad to see you back, Fooster! Awesome to know you're also feeling better. I also got sick recently and idk if it's Covid but I'm sure a lot of people got hit hard too. Stay safe and healthy out there, everyone ❤
The " I am still a little bit sick... take it easy please." Followed by the huge howl of wind told me exactly how this was going to go. Love you Fooster, so good to hear you up on your feet again!
Great to have you back Fooster! As for the box in the upper part of the building, 26 minutes in, it looks like the box you messed with in mist survival, it also looks like the boxes you and Fisk destroy in Entities
I started watching you a year ago just to find out what good games I could find for ps5, but since then I have watched all of your videos and when I get home from work, after getting settled for the night the first thing I do is look for any of your videos, while I wish games like mist survival and entities were ps5 games, im now more happy to watch you play instead. Love you Fooster, you rock!
The amount of times I nearly FLUNG my drink, phone or pillow at the jump scares is way too high! Great atmosphere and scares in this game and I love your narration!
So good to see you back! Hope you are recovering well! Here in the deserts of Arizona, U.S.A we have a lot of abandoned mines such as mica which was mined during WWII for circut boards. You can explore them but they are very fragile and not up to code haha.
1:04:00 | 1:33:42 love you coaching us through the potential scary moments. like, I get that it's just as much for you, but it's like you're holding our hand in these stress-riddled scenes bc you know your audience, you know some of us be a wee bit loose in the socks but can't get enough of your content. ummphf, thank you and glad you're feeling better!
Tip for you fooster; and anyone wanting to play the game: *Geiger counter kicks off everytime ghosts and anomalies ARE ABOUT TO SHOW UP in vicinity.* Spares y'all the jumpscares And also, that dang flashlight is freaking bright; you can't see what you pointing on
I think I developed claustrophobia from watching this or its triggering what claustrophobia I already had. Either way this game is now my worst fear. I loved the video and I hope you feel better soon 😁
Glad to see you're up to playing again, Foo. It's been quiet without you! But recovery is priority. Despite it all, I hope your holidays were lovely! And back to it with an almost 2 hour video!? Diving back into the deep end, hard! Don't push yourself too hard, though. The 'Rona can be right proper wicked.
Oh my goodness, I think I held my breath through 95% of that whole thing. Great experience though. Thanks for going through that so we could enjoy it with you.
Welcome back Fooster! We’re so happy to have you back. Your health is the most important to us, so it was hard not to be selfish of us wanting you back sooner! Lol Looking forward to all your videos, glad you’re feeling better. Hope your holidays were happy ☺️♥️♥️
Thank god you’re back in the game Fooster, you’re a legend. Love your vids, keep up the good work brother. Good thing you’re healthy now, keep it up brother. Just found your channel last month and I’m mad that I found it so late. Good vids, good games, good content. I’ve basically binged watched all your vids already.
Is the game actually set in the late 19th century or just in a mine from the 19th century? The car driving, office setup, and other modern amenities had me questioning that opening description of the game. Glad your health is improving and you're back in the game.
Fooster is the only one keeping me sane during my Covid sick days right now. Dude I honestly love your vids and your funny conversations with your friends. Glad you’re back!
That movie is called My Bloody Valentine. This game made me jump so much. My adrenaline is always racing when you do these games. Ones with Fisk and Taco leave my ribs hurting with the laughing I do watching the chaos.
My wife's family has partial ownership of a gold mine. It's not a big mine, they don't pull a lot of gold out, but they still get some. And they let owners tour the place, which is what we did one year. It was fascinating, and kind of haunting. It was dark of course, and cool. Not cold, just cool. Even though it was summer outside. The ceiling was very low in places, and we had to crawl down and up an incline with only a rope set in supports on the side to help us. It did not effect me the way I thought it would. I didn't grow panicky, or think about the weight of stone above me. I just remember thinking about how still it was. Still, cold, and close. Now, water on the other hand is another thing entirely. Sitting in a boat, and thinking how high I am above the "ground", even though I know I would float. It's eerie and uncomfortable. Clearly, I don't like the water. It's always moving and it's barely there, but at the same time it can drown you.
Good to see you back. Great stuff. My son visited Australia and went down into a copper mine I believe it was. Not deep enough for him, but he loved every minute off it. I would guess because the lights worked the whole time. I've been underground and turned light off on purpose. Not something I would want to experience when not by choice.
Fooster!!!! So glad to see you back! We missed your videos a ton, cannot say enough about the benefit they have on my mental health! Thinking about you and hoping you start feeling better into 2024! See you… in the next one 🤘🏼
My Bloody Valentine 3-D is the movie about the miners with Jensen Ackles. Play IronBark lookout from Fears to Fathom. You'll love it. The video of the paranormal mine on RU-vid was the haunted Horton mine and its a hoax debunked my multiple debunkers including me lol great video
Fooster talks to himself like most people do when they watch a horror film lol "oh no! don't turn around! oh God I'm turning around!!!!" always great commentary Fooster, love your videos.
Love the videos as always! Small note for the developer or whoever wrote the description there that the 1900s is the 20th century, not the 19th century. Just wanted to point that out!
Foster, it's so great to see you back and feeling better. I think I jumped every time you did LOL. I really appreciate you taking the time to give us a new video. It takes a lot of work. I have to say that the way you talk us through the adventure, it makes me feel like I am there along with you. Thank you, and I hope you are completely well soon. Hope 2024 is an awesome year for you.😊❤❤🎉
Fooster!!! Ive missed your vids, glad youre on the up and up! My Dad was a coal miner then worked his way up to being VP. He's been in the industry 45+yrs and yes, the Coal Miners Prayer is a real thing as he has it hung in his office and even has it memorized. Being a Coal miners daughter is something I'm very proud of and have had the cool experiences of going inside many. Thanks for the video and keep it up! Much support from Nashville TN!❤
Good story. I always enjoy following the Lore in games. Few good jump scares, too. The video link of that Explorer in the mine with the swinging chain, I've seen that one before too, pretty creepy. There are quite a few good mine exploring videos online, There is an older video, pretty sure it was based in russia, about a gentleman who walks to the edge of a vertical mine shaft, And as he looks down, there is an entity inside the shaft that looks up at him with glowing eyes, Something is looking back at him and it's pretty creepy. There is also another one Of another Explorer that goes nearly 300 feet down into an abandoned mine, And as he is walking and talking to the camera, All of a sudden there is a disembodied scream/screech from something even deeper down in the mine, I swear this explorer absolutely wet himself, and he froze under pure fear. Whatever it was, It did not sound natural or like any animal. I don't have a fear of exploring abandoned or haunted places, And I love the idea of anything monster, creature, alien or paranormal related, but I always have some very basic rules in place when doing so; 1. Never explore alone, Always have a buddy system in place because you never know what you're going to run into. 2. Always bring adequate lighting, don't ever bring a cheap flashlight, bring a powerful flashlight and spares. 3. If you re going to record, Cameras front and back, Capture every angle. 4. Bring something to defend yourself, You would rather have something and not need it, than need it and not have it. Now having said all that, I would never explore an abandoned mine; Not because of what I might find, But purely because of the instability of an abandoned mine. In early 2008, I and a couple of my friends explored an old cave system in New zealand when I still lived there, We saw colonies of an insect called the 'Giant Weta', Think of it like an underground cricket the size of a clenched fist, (should google that) nasty looking things. But although they did not scare us too much, It was the constant falling of dust from the ceilings, and bits of mud falling down the wall that scared us the most, It just showed us how unstable everything was. We stopped talking as we slowly moved through the rest of the cave system. I swear I could hear my heart beat out of my chest, Thinking that was even too loud. I was only eighteen back then, but the fear of collapse of the cave was enough to stop me from exploring any other mines and caves since.
Brother i absolutely love your channel. You are probably my absolute favorite youtuber! I work 3200 feet underground in a mine and let me tell you this video made me think differently about when im alone down there in the mines 😂💀. Theres alot of things i noticed about the game that wasnt accurate whej it comes to mines but despite that, this video was awesome 🔥
For what its worth, when i received my first diagnosis of COVID, it really wasnt that bad. Felt a bit like a cold, had a fever and some chills but overall, it was maby 2-3 days of feeling crappy then back to normal. The strange thing was that instead of loss in smell or taste, i actually had numbness in my fingertips, and not just one but all of them. It was very strange, but alas, thats not where the story ends. This is probably the most important part, in case anyone else hasnt had a similar experience previously. Long COVID is extremely real, and something i hope everyone does their best to avoid any way possible. I was once a commercial electrician, my dream job, 2 years in and primed to get my license until i got COVID. Once i returned to work, it became increasingly difficult to breathe. Even just walking up a small staircase of 6-8 stairs was extremely unbearable, and as such i was terminated from my position due to lack of performance. I have yet to recover enough to go back, and i miss it every day. So please everyone, so ur part in any way u can to reduce the possibility/risk of infection. Sorry for the long-winded story, but i felt it was important to share. Stay safe everyone, and Foster, so glad to see ur return and the great news of ur recovery. I hope nothing but the best for u in 2024, as well as anyone still reading this far. Love u all
"Longhaulers" is no joke. I've only had Covid once, but it took me months to get my sense of taste and smell back, and for a good year following that I experienced phantosmia. I constantly smelled burning cigarettes and ashtrays. I'm not a smoker, and no one I was close with was either. It was so strange and unpleasant.
I don't know why but when you were in the cafeteria area of the building before going into the mines and the lightning happened and all the ghosts appeared it gave me Death Stranding Vibes also hope you get better fooster I also hope you will play more surrounded.
I'm glad you're feeling better my guy, I wish you all the good health as well! Also, you'd think these psychopaths that like going by themselves into these situations would decide to team up by now 🤣
Fooster. Why. WHY WOULD YOU CHOOSE THIS VIDEO TO CLEAR THE SINUSES. Oh my soul, I am literally watching this through my fingers. One of my favourite parts is when you touch the radio and the hanging miners appear...then you go back to the office door and say "Can we go in now?" 🤣
Hey foost. Just wanted to say thank you for the videos you make. They make my day when you upload. And I pretty much binge watch previous vids of yours. But I'm curious to what your plans are for mist.
What a great idea for a horror game, I don’t think that any horror games I’ve played have been specifically based on a mine. I remember amnesia obscurity being in a mine for a good min towards the end of the game, as well as outlast 2 , and it was terrifying stuff. I’d like a good sized and high budget horror game based in a mine, that would be awesome.
Our hero emerges from the deep dark after a harrowing experience, committed to telling the story of those miners in vivid detail... and then he remembers he took ZERO photos 😂
i cant stop laughing! The thought of Fooster passing out, his head hitting the desk with a thump! And he waking up and his teeth have been replaced by the keys from the keyboard!
The movie you're thinking of is 'My Bloody Valentine' and the bird is a canary. Glad you're feeling better Fooster, I've had Covid three times. Best thing is Mucinex and lots of water. Plenty of rest and try to lay on your stomach periodically to help move the phlegm out. If you have any questions please feel free to ask, I'm a former EMT and my wife is a nurse.
I’m so blind that even with my brightness the whole way, I can’t see anything in there 😂 I used your timestamp so many times in a row too. Whatd it look like?
@@Georgino89324:42 pause here and if you're on mobile try and zoom. You should see him at the seam to the elevator doors. It is faint and a really nice touch from the devs. You can see the silhouette and his, at least for me, legs are the most visible.
@@Georgino893I was looking at a 50" 4k tv when I watched this so that could explain why it was easier to see. Also that time stamp was really on the last second before he was visible 😅
That guy who investigated the old haunted mine should have been payed in between to $150M-$200M, doing that alone he gotta get that bag because I'm not doing that myself 😂
I only recently started watching your videos. I was in the hospital for a little while last month. Unfortunately not a whole lot to do in there while you’re stuck in a bed. Certainly no real gaming! 😢 Made me feel less alone watching your videos. I love how genuine you are, especially in horror games when you’re in a bit of a panic! 😂♥️
If you ever get the chance to visit a coal mine, certainly do. I visited one in the late 1970's on a school excursion. It is an experience I'll never forget. The descent, the sounds, the temperature, the darkness.... really something special. We went 950 meters deep.
The movie you are referring to is My Bloody Valentine. Also, I just want to say that this game has been very entertaining. The residual noises all over the place are really cool. That's usually what I think of when I think of a haunted place. I feel like not a lot of games do that. Thank you so much for sharing!
My dad once told me when he was in college, one of his professors took him and his classmates down into an abandoned mine. While down there the professor told them to stay quiet as he proceeded to shut off the light for a few minutes. What struck my dad most about those few minutes was how pitch black it was down there and how silent it was.
Fooster, I’m so happy you’re recovering! I have been very sick the past 2 weeks and I think it’s just that time of year when people get sick! Hope you have a great 2024 and keep up the good work!
good you're feeling better Fooster, I wish you all the good health as well! even if ur struggling ur still uploading and keeping us entertained!! I love your vids so much. especially how your videos are also always so long!! you put so much effort in
Very cool. The amount of detail you put in yourr videos make all the difference. The echo effects complete the experience and most probably dont realize it. You bring us THERE with those little details. Awesome!
fooster I’m so glad you’re back and that your okay and I know this might be soon of me asking but I really would love to see another isle video you don’t have to but I was wondering if you would still make videos about the isle. Love your videos
41:00 The movie your talking about is called "My Bloody Valentines". The original movie came out during 1981, but the one your talking about came out in 2008/2009!!! I love the movie sm so glad you mentioned it
Fooster! I'm so glad to see you're back! I feel like a family member has returned 😆 can't wait to watch this video and get jumped-scared along with you 🤣
Welcome back Fooster! Yo from when your video just popped up on my feed and I watched it, I was so into it that I went to your channel and watched some of your solo and multiplayer videos and man I was hooked, I started watching all your latest uploads and was so keen on watching the new video! Love your videos!
So I showed this to my grandma (she was 24 in 1950, she is born 1926) and she was telling me how she would watch one of her friends come back from mines and how she had to watch him steadily go madder as time went on. She also mentioned how her mom (who was born in 1883) had told her horror stories about miners and how she had never believed her mom until she saw her friend.
