This Is Your Life, Buster Keaton - Part Three (End).
This was a live show, which is why you see funny things like someone walking on their hands and knees behind Ralph Edwards or Donald O'Connor falling off his stool, all captured by the live cameras.
I noticed this wasn't on RU-vid so I added it. I'm sorry for the "bloop" noise in the background, there was no way to effectively remove it without compromising regular audio quality, or what is left of it.

It must have been very difficult for Buster to have to share his life story. I thought that he was going to cry there for a second when his two sons appeared. He seemed very uncomfortable until his wife came out. Although Buster was no Saint, he was a good man with a big heart, and its wonderful to know that later in life, he was so happy. He certainly deserved it for all the joy that he brought, and continues to bring to others through his movies.. RIP Buster Keaton...Thanks for the laughter ♥.

To think what Buster had to deal with...& still be lovable & unselfish. And what goes around comes around...Natalie Talmadge is completely forgotten except being known as Buster's ex wife. And heard his grandaughter speak about him playing with his train set with her. So his final years was happy & full & he was recognized as a genius before he left us. Not only a great legend but an inspiring life with a happy endig. Thanks for the clip...I had tears watching this.

Buster Keaton was a truly great comedian. It sounds as though he was an even better person.

Wow! Looooove Buster. As a kid I adored Donald O'Conner. Later in life when my Mom with with with Donald, I was on set constanly picking his brain and hanging on to his every word, so kind. Recently I discovered and have fallen inlive with the treasure of Buster Keaton. Had I known of Donald's connection Buster I would have NEVER left him alone! Thanks for sharing this lil treasure! There is and never will be another Buster Keaton. Peace

i feel so horrible watching this because he was hard of hearing and would get very embarrassed when he couldn't make out what people were saying. this is why it's great when eleanor shows up, she helps him out and you can see it, and how much he loves her.

Yeah, like when she says "In Europe". Poor man probably couldn't hear what he was saying, so she helped him.

He found renewed success, he reconnected with his sons, had a good relationship with his grandchildren and he found a good woman to spend the rest of his days with. Regardless of what hard times he had to endure he really got the happy ending he deserved.

He did feel more comfortable when his wife came out to be with him.....I felt so bad for him through some of it. He deserved happiness and I am glad he found it.

Donald O'Connor, I'd recognize that voice anywhere. Buster is also one of my all-time favorites.

Found it so hard watching Buster's life just laid bare for the public to see. you could tell by his body language it was hurting him having his failures mentioned. I'm thankful he found peace and happiness in Eleanor, a man like Buster deserved the World and more.

This makes two people nut brains because they are ignorant- You two are not good with old history-- Buster's bad period was brought on by the studio when over time they started taking over and unfortunately cause a lot of bad times for Mr Keaton. They took away his creativity but their insane demands. I would say what took place, but wont for if you cared you could research and find out what caused Buster's down period which you wont though.

Well, it was their mother that changed their last name when they were still very young after a nasty divorce and he did reunite with his sons once James (the older son) was an adult. He had been in their lives for quite a while by this point so I think he was genuinely happy to see them here.

Ralphs Edwards is insufferable, but this is a great piece of Hollywood history. His third wife was a doll, you can see she truly loved him. There is also alot of sadness here, if you ever get a chance to see Harold Lloyd's This Is Your Life, it is remarkably different, none of the melancholy and pain. Glad to see at least at the end of his life he pulled out of the depression, found a great wife and enjoyed renewed fame.

really ! What a goof Edwards could be, but his role was to bring out the emotion in the people.

Agree with you about Edwards. Dick Clark was the same way and wouldn't be surprised if Ryan Seacrest follows suit as well. It was live tv tho, so they had to stick with their script. I can't help but notice how Edwards seems to think of Keaton as nothing more than a comedian. Buster however, they could have justlet him talk, speak towho he pleased, and it wouldhave been fascinating. Loved finally seeing his sons tho.

His family still loves him and keeps his memory alive. His granddaughter, Melissa Talmadge Cox is on the board of the International Buster Keaton Society, as is Big Joe Roberts' granddaughter.

I hate it when hosts hijack the programme and keep the attention on them and not who people really want to hear about. Trying to be funny in Buster's presence is really ironic, and Edwards is so insincere...
