I work at a plant store here in the states and on my lunch break, I watched this video. Saw the Manjula you have and thought “hmm… I wonder if we have one here”. I went out before my break ended and found one! It’s a smaller one and was only $15. But It was the last one so I knew it was meant to be. 😌
It's wild to me that some places, Manjula Pothos are "rare" or hard to find. I see them come into the Lowe's in my city all of the time for like $5-$16. Maybe it's regional
With regards to your philodendron flower, by the time it's formed, the plant has already put loads of energy into growing it. Cutting it off now would waste that energy, whereas if you left it, if it wasn't pollinated, it would die back and the energy would go back into the plant. Best thing to do is just up the fertiliser for a bit to maintain the leaf growth, and wait for the flower to cycle.
For the Manjula it depends where you live in the states I’m guessing :) In Minnesota and Florida (where I’ve lived) you can almost always find them super cheap at big box stores :) So if anyone wants one check out those states, specifically Florida cause they’re at most big box stores here :)
Definitely depends on where you live in America since it’s such a large country. I’m in New York and I’ve seen them come and go throughout the year in big box stores for $5 bucks. So I got mine super cheap. But definitely a rare plant in other parts of the nation.
Manjula are so hard to get ahold of in the states I live in southern California and rarely see them in the wild 🥲 this list was so fun and unique! Definitely adding that Peperomia to my list 🤗 would love another video like this!
Awesome list....would love to get my hands on a Sansevieria Metallica (don't see iit much here in Sydney). And that 1st Philo looks gorgeous, the Mellanonii. Haven't seen that one around here either. Thanks for sharing Emma 👏🏼😻
Manjula pothos has been on my wish list for a long time. I watch other RU-vid folks shopping in other parts of the U.S. and finding them regularly at big box stores. But I could never find them in big box stores or nurseries near where I live in Central Ohio. I finally did find a small one at a local nursery for $25 and bought it. I was really tempted to buy two so that I'd have a fuller plant, but I could not justify $50 for something that I think will probably be available for a lot less in the not-too-distant future. I think that if they are available in some big box stores, it can only be a matter of time until Costa Farms (or whomever) pushes them out to the rest of the country -- like they've done with the Phil Pink Princess. They are sure taking their sweet time, though.
yeah sounds like they're on the rise over there! They tend to be quite quick growers so getting only one was probably the right choice and you can chop and prop from there to make it fuller too!
I have a couple of manjulas, I bought them on Etsy. I’m in California so you will NEVER find this at our big box stores. BTW watching this video while enjoying a California Burrito 🫢
Thank you for helping me identify my Metallica on a live chat. It feels more flexible/rubbery to me. It’s in a weird darker corner & used to get majorly ignored. I’ve grown to love it 😍 Thanks for the videos!!!
Is peperomia sarcophylla different than peperomia maculosa? I just ordered a maculosa thinking that it's the same as yours but turns out they have different names but similar looks 😂
that pot is a self watering insert from elho. They come already with the water level indicator. Honestly they're the best value when it comes to self watering
Love my variegated lipstick plant. It gets so white and purple in high light. Also I love your shirt! I don't normally care about merch, but your designs are👌right up my alley. Definitely adding to my wishlist🪴
I've been looking out for Pep Sarcophylla ever since your October video in which you mentioned it. I've finally got hold of pep hope, pixie lime, teardrop and watermelon peperomias, and I'm overall in just a huge pep phase in my collection this spring! An absolute top tier wish list plant for me, but atm it's practically nonexistent where I live. I slept on a single listing online in Dec-Jan and oh boy do I regret it. It was small but I bet it would have been worth it by now. Got to keep my hopes up though!
Manjula is so amazing, one of my favorite Epipremnum's ❤️ so weird they're rare in the states, but then again; Jessenia is rare here and easily found in the states 🤷♀️
Do you know if the Mandula is the same as Happy Leaf? Google was very unhelpful! It looks very similar but there seem to be so many varieties of epipremnum..
.. Epipremnum Manjula and "Happy Leaf" is in fact one and same plant.. When I got mine 3 years ago it was sold to me as a "Happy Leaf".. It took me a year of searching for info about the plant, before I learned that it was in fact one and the same as a Manjula..
