This Itemization WILL make you try Torchlight: Infinite 

PoE is balanced around trading and you have to use third party tools to manually trade like a cave man. GGG is the most bone headed developer I can think of for sticking with this despite all reasoning in the world saying that it's a bad user experience.

The information given in this game is AMAZING. Honestly better done than almost any game, especially when getting into the crafting aspect of it

The same thing goes with blizzard games. Its like they refuse to evolve. These games should have any and all relevant information...WITHIN the game. All this vagueness about what different things do and numerous levels of inconsistency in how things work it just embarrassing for top tier gaming companies.

Good point! Yes you are correct you can always delete the enchantment to continue crafting later. I just meant once it is enchanted at that point you cannot craft OVER the enchant. But great correction

d3 is more limited since it's basically "roll the entire item" or "roll a stat on it" and crafting from scratch only gives limited predetermined items. This is honestly way more in depth

For minions builds or auto bombers, yes. Other wise it gets too fast for mobile.

TL3 came out a little over 2 years ago and was made by some of the original torchlight team but was very negatively received. Torchlight infinite is made by a group who bought the license to the IP and have nothing to do with Runic games.

Yeah it's very f2p friendly...there is a p2w gatcha system with pets that give you stats, but they're pretty minor power increases compared to gear and you get enough for free that it's not gonna matter much.

iLvl of items affect the level of tiers you can roll, just like PoE. You need an ilvl 85 item to roll the highest tier mods.

1. Ya that's just pretty standard. If you wanna get some skins/cosmetics I'm sure you can 2. Honestly, it really isn't awful. The only pay options that really seem to affect gameplay are the Pact Spirits which can improve your character a little bit but I don't really feel like it destroys the game. It's still not my favorite that there is any power for purchase, but I also never felt like as a f2p player I had any downside or was missing out on anything

@@invividcolor I get that creators need money, but selling out to scummy games like Torchlight is just lame. Same as if he’d been sponsored by Raid, or Diablo Immortal. I unsubbed from this. His content isn’t worth supporting if he gives into these types of sponsors.

d&d loot wouldn't work as a games single progression point without getting into insanely high stats. the reason it works for d&d is because between item upgrades you have story and adventuring with your friends to hook you in, an arpg would never stay interesting with the same loot style. gotta consider the medium when judging this kind of stuff

@@Fulbor already did - dont make itemization ur PRIMARY progression system - u already listed all the reasons why it would suck. You need multiple progression paths (leveling, exploration, story, adventuring, skill & spell acquisition, world traversal skills) in addition to items. There's no reason u cant have an isometric Elden Ring for example. Rpg's have been doing them successfully for over 3 decades. The ONLY advantage to excessive random modifiers with extreme ranges on loot is to add a long "tail" on game loops and to draw out the surprise element...and its a bad way to do it. D2's loot was its worst feature, it excelled at everything else. And D3 made it even worse. Trading was mandatory if u wanted to be able to complete sets and set-ups. When trading becomes mandatory in a single player arpg's, uve failed from the start. There's a lot of things to consider but the key take away is - dont make items ur primary progression and ull have a solid foundation with items being the icing not the cake. Means items can be less annoying both in their design and acquisition and more interesting.

@@wraithryder I actually agree with you that the RPG in these games is not warranted. But what you suggest is a totally different type of game. I like to call games like diablo Character Progression games instead of Role Playing Games since I feel it more closely encapsulates what the game is actually about. But I don't think this type of game is without merrit it is just not the type of game people might be looking for when they come from a mindset of playing actual RPGs. Players that like Diablo style games want them to last for ever. Or at least to have the potential to do so. Story can't do that. exploration neither. Once you have experienced the world or the story you know it and it can not be relived for the first time (in contrast to interactive storytelling of a D&D Campaign) Leveling and Skill acquisition can'T be done perpetually either since for them to be worth dsoing they must be upgrades and that makes the progression ridiculous (see paragon leveling) Games that sort of marry the two genres are procedurally generated Roguelikes /-lites where progression can go on for ever because it is part of the game for that progression to start over regularly. I don't think it is fair to expect a Diablo style game to work like an RPG or a Rogue Like.
