This plane does well initially but I feel one v ones are where I have the most trouble.

What are your post FX settings and do you use NVIDIA filtering? They look amazing especially with the lighting and the sun! A lot of other youtubers use monitor calibration and editng after the match is over to make the game look better and I was wondering if you do the same.

data link is the connection between the missile and the aircraft the Su-27sm can have 2 datalinks at the same time so why when you launch more than 2 missiles R-77s all of them still follow the target and hit them Shouldn't only 2 R-77s follow the target and the rest of R-77s get lost? (I don't know how this exactly works so correct me if I'm wrong)

Should I use this same tactic with a plane like the Mig-29SMT if not what tactic would be good? (btw can you do more videos like this one explaining what you are doing, etc.?)

I feel this plane isn't exactly a "Top-Dog" level of good right now, but after the extra R-77's and the HMS range buff, it's definitely competitive now (At least in Air RB). My gripe with it is that I feel it's less flexible than an F-15 due to the shorter range of the R-77 and the undeniably bad radar. You more depend on being the backline player, using your missile magazine to blunt an enemy push instead of being someone who shapes the push. For those reasons, I'd still pick an F-15C/J(M) over the Flanker, but I can't sleep on it anymore.

I use ARH+IR a lot, very Efficient if the enemy isn't skilled or doesnt realise it

The flanker SM is in a much better place than it was on release. It still has some issues, like the bad Radar, lower-ish countermeasures and of course the R-77, but it’s not a bad aircraft really at all. One of those occasions where “it’s not meta but it’s fun”. Nice vid Karma

You can break lock right before your R27ER hits low flying enemies to completely ignore multipathing. Not sure if gaijin fixed it tho

is flying just below contrail altitude through the middle of the map, shooting at ppl on the deck or in space and then retreating to the team if shot at typically the optimal way to open a top tier game? i often struggle with positioning in fox-3 BR because i mostly play gun era jets and props as well as the pre-tomcat SARH meta

1 thing to note is if your enemy is at low altitude while you are at high altitude there is pretty much a good chance that the R-77 launch from high altitude will reach the target easier And as I said before take any far flank when you have multiple RWR Pings to avoid ARH detection So yeah R-77 I treat it as a high altitude glide missile since it will be able to glide easily from higher alt while having more energy it can use and that applies to pretty much any missile And it's the opposite if you launch a missile at an enemy that is at high alt it will lose a lot more speed trying to climb once the motor burns out

I'm trying to improve my initial positioning, currently I own 2 top tier jets: Su-27SM and F-16AM they have really different play styles, but I also got a Mirage 4000 and it's been my favorite since I turn off the radar go with my 8x Magic 2 and flank the enemies, its being easy to get an ace on matches, and it's been my best K/D aircraft. But I really want to master the Su-27SM like that since it's my favorite aircraft, I will try the R-27ER too.

Personally I have had that happen with the sma missile and active it’s hard due to too many factors altitude distance speed so I have trouble more so with dodging fox three missiles or ones with so many Gs
