Since we are using translations, there may be some errors. In Japan, there is a word ``Ino-Shikacho'' which means boar, deer, and butterfly. And it is also related to the names of the three people. The appearance of deer also has a deep connection with Shikamaru's clan. Although it is a game term, it is an auspicious word.😊

Kakashi said u can’t beat kakazu fire style with just water style bc he mixed his fire style with wind style with the two hearts. So Naruto used wind style rasengan and Yamato used water style to cancel kakuzus wind style that’s why it put the fire out when kakashi water style didn’t! Super perfect timing

Ok so just to clarify the INO SHIKA CHO TRIO is not just Ino Shikamaru and Choji its something that was passed down to them from their parents its a legacy thing their parents made a name for themselves during the 2nd and 3rd great shinobi wars and they where the 2nd best 3 man squad the ninja world ever saw apart from obviously the legendary sanin!! SO YEAH THEY ARE ILLOUSTROUS AND THEIR NAMES CARRY WEIGHT so partly why the lord of the land of fire where the hidden leaf resides would want him in his personal guard is not just for his skill and abilities but also his pedigree just like asuma was in and also had Pedigree of being a sarutobi and the son of the 3rd hokage but yeah the NARA clan is one of the few great clans of the hidden leaf basically the founding clans and most prominent and heavily involved clans of the village in the politics the army the leadership all of it a lot of clans take responsibility for some major parts of the village the Akimichi are usually vanguard fighters because of the explosive strength and negation of numbers they bring the Nara are amazing minds they do a lot of politics and delegation the Yamanaka ino's clan deal with a lot of covert ops and intelligence survalance e.t.c but all these clans are also great clans cause they are old and their roots can be tied back into the forming of the village so clans like the UCHIHA the Aburame (Shino's clan) the Hyuga the Sarutobi the Senju and the Uzumaki.... but more on that later are all pretty much most of the great houses of the Hidden leaf Now each of these Families/Houses have places in the Village or around it that are special to them and their clan the Nara clan owns those woods thats their spot and those deers in there are linked to them in some way its really cool

Fun fact about Shikamaru shika means Deer. Also hislast name Nara is a reference to the Nara prefecture in japan which has a lot of deer that have learned to bow at people in exchange for (edit: cookies)

I actually didn’t connect this at first but Shikamaru’s clan is the Nara clan. The city of Nara, Japan is famous for having free-roaming deer everywhere that are really familiar with tourists and bow to them. So I guess the Nara clan is inspired from the real place and so they have a connection to deer in the show.

I'm a little behind but for context, the animals in those woods in the land of fire eat anyone who isn't a part of shikamarus tribe or attack anyone who isn't, if hidan tries to crawl out they'll eat his pieces that crawl out before he can put himself together again.

The Nara clan has an area within the land of fire where they raise deer, that's why Shikamaru's comment, and the image of the fourth hokage, was because Kakashi saw the Rasen Shuriken as the culmination of the technique that the fourth hokage could not achieve.

Rasengan is very compatible with Wind element, also Kakashi try to create Rasengan(4-th Hokage was his teacher, of course Kakashi knew about Rasengan) with Lightning element - but he gained the Chidori, and after some time - Raikiri(more powerful version of Chidori) Boruto(Naruto's son) was able to add the Lightning element to the Rasengan, and he gained the Vanishing Rasengan

This arc right here really sets up shippuden in terms of seeing Naruto grow stronger. The next episodes are going to be fire. Also youre right about One Piece. Once they reach the new world One Piece really gets amazing.

I’m sure the Patreons already explained it but just in case. Shikamaru saying his family looks after that forest is him referring to his clan. The Nara clan has dominion over that portion of the forest and no one else ventures there. So that’s what he meant.

Also, its an actual thing in japan, you can google it "Nara city in Japan" it is known for how many deer roam the streets and they bow as you do its such a beautiful place

Shikamaru is so fast that he can read movements, predict their trajectory and drip blood during a strike! Just a genius shinobi! All shinobi have some kind of sharingan, etc., but Shikomaru just knows how to slow down time and that’s all! Just a genius, just a genius! Naruto should have not turned on baryon mode, but called Shikomaru, who could dodge Isshiki’s stakes!

I honestly feel this Arc is a 10/10 arc (prob my personal fav of all of Shippuden) and I think it just doesn't get the same love as others because it isn't Naruto or Sasuke focused.

I first became a fan of Naruto due to video games, and got the half the story abridged through them. But I got a chance to watch the show later and this was the first arc I actually watched through. Needless to say, this is what ignited my love for anime as a medium and made me a true Naruto fan ever since.

In the manga Shikamaru smoke a cigarette before he killed Hidan but was censored in anime because he was smoking underage

People forget what ninja actually can do, their real skills. All this magic ninjutsu, illusion genjutsu and bruce lee taijutsu has clouded your vision. Ninja/Shinobi/Kunoichi use tools, poisons and most importantly unique highly trained physical niche skills. Naruto show made the mistake of going into Dragon Ball Z fighting on the moon territory, instead of staying ground level like first few arcs.
