This episode is probably one of my favourite of the first season. We get to see more of Class 1A's Quirks and how they can use them with other classmates. The team work is great to see. Also, Aizawa is the GOAT. Despite all the pain he must have been feeling and having his head in Nomu's clutches, he still did not let Tsu die. The man is awesome! Loved the reaction!
Bakugo didn't really change. He's always been good at analysis. Even in his 1v1 against Deku he was switching his approach based on Deku's adaptations and All Might's restrictions. He just isn't as verbose as Deku and keeps it to himself.
"Game Over" "Oh we're getting a continue"... Yes Shigaraki is a gamer boy in the early seasons. Bro literally plays video games on the side while being a bad guy.
Wonder how Shigaraki even *plays* games, when you typically need all five fingers to hold a controller or a handheld… I bet he must’ve decayed a good few of his consoles in the past-either because of his Quirk, or because he’s the type to ragequit when he loses.
@@komarunaegi7460 I imagine if it's a controller, he has his pinkies off, and if its his PC he just wears a glove that covers some fingers since he needs 5 of them in direct contact.
Yeah he is smart and can strategize well, he just never really tells anyone so it's simple to just dismis him as being angry and edgy. I did see a review lately where the reviewer said it was genious to pair him with Kirishima here, because he's the kind of character who dares to speak up to Bakugo. So when Bakugo did his usual "No screw helping the others, I'm going after the big shot", which people would dismis as Bakugo being full of himself and wanting to take all the fame for himself at the cost of his teammates, Kirishima calls him out exactly for that and forces Bakugo to give us his reason which he normally wouldn't do. And that makes us realize that it's not like that but he has actually thought it through, he doesn't care about helping the others because he deemed the small fry so weak that none of the others are in danger anyway, and he wants to go after the big shot because he's their escape. That's a great strategy, that we would have missed if he was paired with someone like Deku or Tsu instead of Kirishima.
"Um, can we not?" Through the screen, Shigaraki hears Carlie's humble requests. "Damn," he thinks to himself, "I never thought of that before." He turns around and walks out of the USJ, never to commit villainy again. Everyone is happy. Carlie is the true hero of My Hero Academia.
For me, this has been the greatest episode in season 1 so far, and when I fell in love with Eraser Head, he was the absolute MVP in this episode. Mayor respect.
On the topic of names, it's an interesting comment to make because yes, clearly, Japanese names don't come particularly naturally to us English speakers, because of course they don't, their structure and composition is so foreign to us. However, the comparison to Captain America is extremely apt, since the name Kurogiri is made of characters for Black (kuro) and Mist (giri). The man's name is Black Mist, and it's hard for us to remember because we don't know that vocab. But in his native language, he's every bit as intuitive as Captain America in terms of name matching the iconography. Japanese names are fascinating, actually, with all the different ways there are to write or pronounce the same sounds to produce different meanings through the use of divergent kanji readings, it's a wild world out there.
He's great. So many of the heroes have either self-doubt or overconfidence, but Kirishima seems to know who he is and what he's capable of. That clear self-awareness helps him sort of blunt Bakugo's harshness for everyone else.
I think this is the first episode that shows how serious is the show. And shows that Aisawa was right when he yell at the students that UA is not a place where you cane to play around, you need to be serious - learn, practice so your actions didn't kill someone that your trying to save and saving yourself
From the moment we were first introduced to Aizawa I LOVED him in his sleeping bag lol and then when the villain’s first showed up he was all about the smoke from the jump. And even after taking all the damage from Nomu he still protected his students. Really solidified him as my favorite character. There’s a lot more to say about him but we’ll just have to keep watching 🤫
This was actually peak anime when it came out. I thought MHA was overhyped until they dropped this episode. And from here it just gets better & better.
@@thelegacyofgaming2928 yes? Anything to actually say? It's still a peak scene, the next EP as well. Just because things are crazier, and more epic, doesn't mean this wasn't peak. A class of untrained kids, being pushed to the corner, and the ultimate hero, ALL MIGHT, appears to save them, not smiling for the first time in his hero form. PEAK 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I feel like Carlie and Ange have had steins gate, violet evergarden and 86 as completed on their patreon exclusive tab even tho they finished them agars ago
Deku having full control for one punch is not really explained. most sensible theory is something like hysterical strength where a mom lifts a car to save her child.
this is the point where i realized...oh, people actually get hurt and possibly die lol It was traumatic seeing that happen to Aizawa haha I was like Carlie the first time :P. As for all your questions concerning Shigaraki - the series does a good job of answering everything, over time. It just takes some patience ;)
Love my favourite reactors watching one of my favourite shows. Just a heads up, Shotos voice actor is the same voice actor as Eren from Aot, Yuki Kaji.
Aizawa is one of my favorite characters, and he saved my favorite character! Best girl Froppy! one of my favorite scenes is when Tsuyu Asui dunks Mineta (grape head) under the water after he gropes her, because she doesnt take any of his shit
Man I'm sucking down these episodes like PB&Js Especially love the discussion at the end, I know you're already ahead of this episode but man theorizing on the Nomu this earlyis entertaining as hell
Yur both right he is smiling but tats hid brand he needs to maintain But Mr. Angelo is also right to quote brain from family guy slapping Peter. “GOD. IS. PISSED!!”
