The cornhole thing is literally one line spoken from a teenager in 1930's lmao. The book revolves around a relationship between 2 teenagers in the aftermath of school explosion that killed 300 children and teachers. The themes are literally about racism, segregation and class inequality. 1 line out of context set her off lmao

That is exactly why they have demonized education for decades. An educated populous doesn't fall for their shallow rhetoric and empty promises. From higher education all the way to elementary school, the right in America have systematically attempted to raise the prices of post secondary education, push less borrower favorable student loans, forbade loan forgiveness, helped publishers enter into illegal price fixing scheme to artificially inflate the cost of textbooks, make childcare less accessible for parents seeking to finish high school or attend college, and so much more. I could go on for days. I just find it so frustrating that actual human beings have sat down and decided that education was their enemy and that they must do everything they can to impede the young people of their nation from bettering themselves and their country. They would rather barely maintain a grasp on their faltering power in a nation loosing its competitive edge due to a lack of educated workers than give up this ridiculous quest and see the poor and working class succeed. It is disgusting and should be criminal.

She was trying to negatively quote the book Out of Darkness, which is a book about racism and inter-racial relationships in 1930s rural Texas that hinges on the event of a local school blowing up in New London, but she clearly didn't get the point of the book and just has a visceral reaction to the concept of people having anal sex.
She didn’t even know what the term was before she Googled it. She either knew what it meant and had to be too Of God to immediately know or between the rest of the book that’s what set her off. A word that as far as she knew was a game. 100% knew what it was and was trying to spin it to ban a book talking about bigger issues
They have no self awareness, that's why they are racist without getting a read head. They cant introspect, that's why they like fascist, they need a strong leader to guide their lives. If they had the ability to hear themself talking this toxic nonsense, they wouldn't talk toxic nonsense.
You're 100% correct. Unleaded gas wasn't introduced until 1976, along with catalytic converters. So they were literally pumping it into the air they were breathing.
I wonder if she realizes she’s brought more attention to the book. One kid at the school is probably passing the book around with the “good parts” highlighted.

It's not even post-pandemic and this lady wants "less focus on public health" and (claims) to want more focus on education. To be fair to her, she is actually an excellent example of why education needs mroe government attention and greater resources.
A lot of people in my family talk like this lady. For the longest time I thought I was stupid, because I never understood what they were talking about. As an adult, I now realize they were talking nonsense. The amount of mental relief I felt after realizing that was so satisfying 😌
Lady, kids won't understand cornhole and other innuendo present in literature and media until they're older. God forbid she bans SpongeBob in her household.
Had a babysitter that was part of our church, her daughter and I weren't allowed to watch spongebob because she thought spongebob and Patrick were gay lovers and we also weren't allowed to say "that sucks, frick, darn, etc."
The reason why the cop is asking for an ID in this situation is because it puts her in a serious double bind, either she shows ID or she can’t drive her car. She doesn’t have to have an ID on her if she doesn’t want to but if she wants to drive her car she needs a license on her to prove that she can operate that motor vehicle. If she had a motorcycle and showed a Class D license, rather than a Class M license, then she can not drive that motorcycle though she has a “license”. In this instance, if she is not willing to provide him with any ID, she can’t be allowed to drive bc we don’t know if she is allowed to drive.

I want to say I was in 5th grade in 03-04 when we had sex ed, here on the central coast in Cali. Learned about the reproductive system of males and females, the “miracle of life,” anal sex, diseases, and the importance of testing. In hindsight, it was very comprehensive and most of that shot flew over my head until high school. I’m glad we were taught this stuff because I’ve protected myself and my partners.
Its too long ago for me to remember what was taught in school and what I learned elsewhere, but I DO KNOW that a couple years after I graduated (2000) our local county went full 'abstinence only', complete with the extra half-dozen or so teen pregnancies. Impeach Bush!
I got my sex Ed in 2014 (I live in Tampa FL) and we were taught that we shouldn’t have sex until marriage, because if we do there’s a good chance we’ll get an std. They proceeded to showed us pictures of infected genitals. Then they told us if we have sex, it’s basically like having sex with all the other people they’ve had slept with.
Lol I got my Comprehensive sex Ed from my church. It was far better then anything I had taken in school. It was based around the presumption that all humans are Sexual beings and that you will most likely be sexually active and have sex during your life. Thus the curriculum was focused around teaching one how to have a healthy sex life and how be safe during sex. The only thing that was stressed was that protection is an important part of being safe and that we me must have consent from Both party’s. Other then that they didn’t care And didn’t judge.
I love how its always the angry parents yelling, never and actual student who attends the schools and are the ones who are actually affected by the education system. (anal sex won't effect your home value. If it does, It'll make it go up... A LOT)
Out of Darkness is such a good fucking book. I read it a few years ago and cried,, is she....mad that a really powerful book about the reality of historical tragedy is...not kid-friendly ...?
Yeah imo those books should always be there if kids want to read it no matter what age. Just don’t mandate that they read it, kids will just end up hating reading if it’s forced on them lol.
Did anyone catch the cop in the second segment going “im not gonna listen to this.” When he takes her arm because that had me in fuckin tears that was so funny
My girlfriend is an English teacher at a middle school near where this first lady is from, and she's had to deal with crazies just like her. These parents are scouring through every book in the school libraries for any content that they don't like just so they have an excuse to harass teachers and admin about it.
That was my school lol. Can confirm these types of parents are commonplace. Some teacher at my high school got fired for showing a video that had a BLM sign in the background and had nothing to do with the video. He was my favorite teacher and now he is gone. What a f*cked up world.
God that's so sad. I'm sorry you had to go through that, I hope his life wasn't affected too bad. We need more based parents and citizens standing up to these fascists, they're way too motivated.
After reading about right-wing libertarian legal theories, alarm bells go off in my head every time I hear someone spouting off about the “common law.”
@@ozen3348 “Common law” is such a nebulous concept, and right-wing libertarians/anarcho-capitalists are really the only people who use it. And only then when it suits whatever they want, because “common law” to them is not really a consistent definition. It’s basically some combination of autonomy and property rights, with any other laws being considered illegitimate. And they tend to emphasize “freedom from” in what they consider freedom; in other words, I can do what I want with what I own and the government can’t tell me otherwise, no matter how many people it hurts. Technically, common law comes from English law based on precedent and custom, but these jackasses will often just throw it out along with the U.S. Constitution whenever they don’t like something because they don’t really know what they’re talking about. Sovereign Citizens also throw that term around a lot, because they are in that same right-wing libertarian zone too. Tl;dr It’s a red flag usually signaling someone with terrible understanding of law just trying to act like they are justified in whatever they claim to be “common law.”
