The BEST Knot Book is called the "Ashley Book of Knots" and can be found here:
➡amzn.to/3XBwvXr
My playlist on CAMPING TIPS:
• Cast Iron Pizza on a C...
My top 10 fav knots to use.
• The 10 BEST Knots in L...
This knot can be used in everyday life, a great knot for the jobsite, and overall excellent for retrieving your rope or isolating frays in a rope. Great for Camping, Prepping, Survival and Bushcraft.
I tie all these knots with Paracord, and they are considered Survival knots, bushcraft knots and camping knots.
Wether you want to learn how to tie down a tarp, how to set up a tent, what to do with a fray or cut in your rope, or how to join two ropes together - this is the guide for you!

Really great abrasion resistance and though I've never put the Big Game line ru-vid.comUgkxQ4x31pJVpClzhxzNFeILZYTW7Xbs7ZIF (any poundage) through an official test it always seems to break well above rated poundage. This line stretches a very good amount before it breaks and does well in saltwater too. Not the best line for a spinning reel in my opinion, especially if you're planning on using it for lures only due to it having a bit of memory but still a great line whether filling a spool, using as top shot or strictly for leader line. I've bought a bunch of Big game line in the past and plan on continuing to do so in the future.

Man you hit it out of the ball park, again. Been using the ABL forever but didn't think about using it in this fashion - just like the figure 8 jam knot you offer refinement for these knots and the ideas behind them. Every time I learn a new application for an old (or new) knot I'm gaining a new tool. Most people don't realize that instead of going out and buying a gadget, they can add some knowledge and 1)always have that "gadget" whenever they have proper cordage and 2)save money, of course. Really appreciate your content and great cinematography (going 24/48 fps is the way to do it). Why I'm subbed and notified.

This really is a great loop knot. I tie it by (a) twisting the bight twice (two half twists, i.e. 360 degrees, so it's sort of like there's an infinity sign next to the rope), (b) pulling the bight around the rope so it's behind the two crossing points, and then (c) reaching through the space between the crossing points and pulling the bight towards me.

RagingGeekazoid The Fastest and Easiest is the Snap Method, and can be done in the dark: Using gloves or handling a vertical line - With the right palm facing upward, bring the working end up forming a bight alongside the standing end. That tree-branch trick reminded me of something from a Stephen King book. In Book 3 of his "Dark Tower" series, King has his hero (Roland) get down from a high place by rope, and when one of the others comments that they can't get the rope back, the super-competent Roland wordlessly tugs on the rope and it drops to the ground. I wondered for days how that could be done! And now two decades later, here's the answer. 👍

Used to use this knot while vertical caving, for attaching and hauling things up or down on climbs, and to isolate frayed rope that took damage over sharp edges, but could not easily be replaced mid-trip. Absolutely fantastic knot, and absolutely fantastic instructions on how to tie it and use it.

Wow!!!! I've seen tons of knots and hitches videos but you add value detailing the different ways to use them. Your preferred way to use the alpine butterfly is owsome. Thank you.

This knot when used for retrieving after throwing it up into a tree branch is a beautiful creation. Whoever designs knots like this is a true artist. To me it’s genius and as pleasing as music.

Very well done videos! Thank you for making "learning knots" so easy. I grabbed 3 lines and took the laptop to the shop and practiced until I knew them! I have always hated just square knotting everything together and admired those that know how to tie them correctly! I'm loving my new found tricks!
