Despite my username I am not a Celtic fan,but I must say I reckon they are the greatest fans in the world.I have been to a few European nights at CP and by god the hair was standing on the back of my neck..Surely no other fans do euro nights like the good people of Glasgow Celtic FC.

Why is everyone hating on everyone else? It's ok to be proud of where you are from or your heritage. Is it so hard to respect everyone else? I live in the U.S.A. and I am of mixed heritage. I am part Irish, part English and part Scottish among a few other nationalities. Why to the Irish hate each other? Just because of their religion? Where does it say in the Bible to hate other people because of their religion? You are all Irish. Be proud and just get along.
Port Glasgow was originally called Newark. As the city of Glasgow grew, ships could not sail up to Glasgow because the clyde was not dredged in those days. The ships could only go as far as Port Glasgow and the town became known for a while as Port of Glasgow. You are probably right in your reason why the irish settled there. How they were treated originally, i dont know, but i do know in 1930's onward they were treated very badly. Areas of PG became no-go areas for irish.
I do. Do you know the history of the U.S.? And it being a colony of Britain? We fought a war for independance. That doesn't mean we can't be friends and get along. Times change and people change. We all just need to get along in this crazy world.

Leaving aside the dubious accents .The desire and aspiration for self government and independence is a universal one and I have no doubt that Europe's second largest oil producing nation can more than survive as an independent state.Northern Ireland's population is evenly balanced between those who are British and those who are Irish .Their political status is within the domain of Westminster not Edinburgh.The treaty of union does not involve either N,Ireland or Wales.
Hmmm, actually no... an Independent Scotland may be entitled to keep the pound, but as such could obviously not set its own interest rates - those would, in effect, be governed from London. So what does Independence mean, in essence?
As for Scotland, they were independant until they fought a war with England and lost. Give them back their independance. Wales should be independant as well. Being an American, I can say I am ashamed of my country's history. We killed the Native Americans and took their land. Then enslaved the Blacks in what is the darkest time in American history. A horrific and brutal period of dehumanization. I am totally ashamed.
