I never thought this day would come, I am considering selling off the Fujifilm XF 10-24mm F4, which many would consider being the BEST wide-angle FujiFilm landscape photography lens. In this video, I explain how I think this wide-angle fast prime will replace my go-to wide-angle lens.
I must underline this point, this lens lineup is what suits my photography needs and desires, especially for my upcoming trips to Iceland, Slovenia, Italy and Asia later in the year. With this lens it allows me to capture more images, be more versatile and minimise my photography gear (which is important)

You need to improve the quality of your audio. It’s terribly distorted and difficult to listen to.

Thanks so much mate. I really know I stuffed the audio up and have purchased a setup for when I am away to check this on the road. It's horrible, I feel horrible but it is what it is haha exactly what you said!

@@matthewstorerphotography with audio this bad, I'd recommend just dropping it. Re-record all your voiceovers in post and disregard the onsite audio entirely. Mistakes happen, but uploading this on site audio might actually hurt your band.

@@matthewstorerphotography You HAVE to get a 32 bit recorder. Highly recommend the Tentacle Sync Track E!!!! I use with with both a lav mic or RODE VideoMic NTG - it has been a GAME CHANGER and gets me perfect audio every time.

Just had a look at it, seems like a weapon of a audio recorder! Might have to save up some money to grab it. Do you just sync in post later? I use premiere pro... maybe flick us an email would love to hear more if you don't mind

I screwed up while I was away and didn't notice, that's why this series has been destroyed via audio issues. It has been fixed moving forward. I am really sorry

Good for you, I bought this Viltrox lens and returned it the same day, it was terrible, I probably got a bad copy, I’ll keep using Fuji native lenses.

awesome image of the waves crashing in Matt, again your logic and thought process cannot be faulted and not letting the heart ruling the head and going with your priorities. Been considering my options on lenses recently as my last trip I ended up taking 4 lenses out each day and wished I could have went with just the 3 but that would have left a gap in my workflow

So, viltrox 13mm f1.4, the fujiflim xf kit lens 18-55mm f2.8/4 and the fujifilm xf 70-300mm f4/5.6 is gonna be the lightweight travel package for me :). Thanks for the pretty shots and info (sound is terrible btw).

I'm a very new to trying my hand at landscape photography and have mainly shot primes for portraits/family/street (purely personal use, not a professional.) I am going to use a 10-24 / 55-200 kit for landscape as I very much want the flexibility to carefully craft the composition of the image in the camera (much the opposite of my other photography) and it just seems counterintuitive to have to crop an image later if I can't walk with my feet to a "perfect" location for a prime. I'm also unsure how the hyper sharpness of my best primes would really translate to landscape images vs. the slightly softer zooms... isn't the value of a sharp prime more helpful in close compositions like portraits and documentary photography? Your images are utterly beautiful and I don't have a pinky finger worth of experience vs what you do, I just think for me the zooms will be more helpful in my kit as I try my hand capturing the landscapes around me.

Really worth the time watching it, I've been looking for this lens really long time now. I bought the samyang 12mm f2 last month just for testing ultra wide angle with a bit of landscape (Cause I didn't save enough money for the viltrox 13mm). It feels great to have a new perspective.But I've always known I need and I love that viltrox 13mm f1.4 so I sold it after 1 week Your video and of course other opinions too (But especially you video) really strengthened my mind. If nothing goes wrong, this baby will land on my hand in the next 2 weeks Hope to see more videos about this awesome lens. astro, landscape, architecture,... Anything, Really informative, Great images. Always love the budget friendly option when it knocks the hell out the fuji lens

I am using that lens at 14mm (13,8 or 14,5) and 18mm (18,2) and I get lovely and sharp images in Street Photography and some landscapes, I did not try it in the coast yet but I will see what does with ND filters and PL-C, but thinking about the old 14mm f:2.8 much more than the Viltrox 13mm and the 18mm f:1.4, XF10-24 Mark I.

I’ve always preferred primes over zooms. Not that long ago, zoom lenses were universally inferior to primes. Zoom lens design has made huge improvements in the past decades. What a location this is! Stunning drone work.

I sold my 10 24 as I used it mostly around 18 /20 and bought the Fuji 18 mm f1.4 which is a fantastic lens. I had the chance to try the Viltrox 13 mm and loved the results so much I have now bought one. Now carrying 2 lens instead of one but really happy with both. Great video, I must visit Australia again soon.

Unfortunately my Fuji 10-24 is a piece of crap that get blurry on 1/3 left since I bought it,first I thought I was doing something wrong until I sort many pics with exact same issue…..thank you Fuji for the bad quality control.
