The look from this lens is something different. Its highlight rolloff and type of contrast and color density... Instantly cinematic. Great review guys! (and those shots from Paris...mmm epic!)
Wow! Fantastic Color grading! This Lens seems to be really good! Thanks for making this Video. Great insides! I want to have this Lens :) Knowing that it's possible now to use this Lens with Lidar Autofocus makes me want to try this Combo. Also with the Creator Shoulder Rig Combo with the FX3. The thing with the Aspect Ratio is this. You called it: a nice inbetween, but your amazing looking Paris Video is 2.8:1 Even Cinema is not that wide. Most Movies produced for Cinema have 2.4:1 Aspect Ratio. It's so wide because of the 16:9 Sensor you filmed with. 4:3 Sensors produce a less wide Result at the End. More and more Movies produced for Netflix and other Streaming Services have 2:1 Aspect Ratio. Edit: Tarantino used a 2.76 : 1 Aspect Ratio for The hateful 8. But this wide Aspect ratio is Rare in Cinema. What the Lady said was also a really good Point: the best Film making is when you don't noticing the Film making.
Thanks so much for your awesome comment! Yeah, we're loving our Sirui Anamorphics. They will work great with Lidar and what's more, the price to quality ratio is really good. They are of course not perfect, but given how affordable they are - honestly they are an amazing entry point into the anamorphic world. We are also VERY excited to shoot something with them, once we have access to an open-gate camera. Really hoping that the FX3 Mk II or A7SIV comes out and has this feature :) Oh and final note - Sal is the wisest :) Thank you again for dropping by on our vid Claudio!
Thank you Radek! Yes - can't wait to use it more. To be honest, we're hoping to get the gang together soon and just get creative - including with this lens :D
Hey Ruben! Thank you so much. Yeah - the whole 'Unseen Paris' cinematic vlog was shot on the 75mm Anamorphic. It was awesome to use. We also can't wait for you to try an anamorphic - you will be a changed man 🙃
super. i saw your paris video, the look was amazing, that is a serious bit of kit though! 😮 i would be too scared to go out with that thing, on my own or otherwise. i'd be too scared of accidentally bang it or drop my camera through fatigue! Renting gear - that is an excellent idea, that not many creators talk about. it certainly does look like it could inspire so much creativity. I did not know that name of the type of lenses, so learnt something new today. cheers. "anamorphic lenses" 🤓 what a great chat, again i felt like we were sat round a table just chatting and catching up on what you have found recently. you guys are amazing creatives. just amazing.
It is a serious bit of kit! It was definitely a milestone when we got our hands on it. It’s actually our first ever cinema lens so we had to make this video. So glad you liked the look of the Paris vid, it was a chill one. Yea definitely, there’s so much gear out there that you may “want” but actually after giving it a go, you realise it’s not for you! So renting is a great option, especially if you can find decent prices somewhere. I wish we’d rented our 100-400mm because it’s barely ever on our camera, but I was so excited for it originally! That’s the best compliment. Thanks for joining us ❤️ it’s an absolute pleasure as always xx
@@TRIOStories i am so pleased you have got to a stage where you can get your mits on some awesome gear... all your gear is awesome. and thank you for wanting to share it with us and make movies then review the gear, awesome idea. awesome.
Even making anamorphic video using a phone adapter is cinematic. And a much cheaper starting point too. I threw together a test with my phone a while back and the editing was 😘. Just looked beautiful, even if it was a phone. I’ll definitely get an anamorphic lens for my “real” camera at some point.
Thanks for the video. Can you explain how you used your Iphone as monitor? You said it, but it was so fast that I didnt really get. Thanks in advance and have fun with the lens :)
Hey! Yes of course. We were able to use the iphone as a monitor, thanks to the Accsoon Cineview Nano. It's such a cool little tool and not too expensive too. It allows you to have an iphone as a monitor AND transmit the image wirelessly to an ipad for example, so that a director or someone else can watch what you're recording in real life too. Glad you enjoyed the video!
