What the difference between the video and non-video course, does the non-video have no live commentary? A bit like this youtube?
@someguyontheinternet7628
@someguyontheinternet7628 9 месяцев назад
@@nevdeboo the video version has 20 hours of DETAILED explaination. The non video is much shorter.... Like one hour of little shorts introducing each chapter. Video version is unreal. After studying the chigorin/slav/copy cat lines I won at least eight London games in a row and went from 1000-1100 blitz in a week. All time high. 1200 is next.

Alex - thanks for videos.. I been improving by just being calm, developing, rook on open files, breaking in the center when opponent isn't castled and not hanging pieces. Caro Kahn and Jobava working for me. - Russ from NY.

loving your sharply dressed alter ego 😂. Got my first checkmate against the fantasy variation!!! Have you done a game where white castles queenside in the Tartakower?! I encountered this the other day and only won because i flagged them lol

Coincides with me blundering my queen an hour ago, with one move to check-mate after a clean Caro-Kann defense. I rage-quit the app and repeatedly lectured myself about checking EVERY move even close to the "end". lol. f***ing hell. lol

The key to all of chess is the Botvinnik-Carls. It's found both in the Caro Kann and the London System. In case of the Caro Kann Kings Knight Advanced Variation, I learned in this video that it's best to pin the kings knight before playing the Botvinnik-Carls.

I had a bad day yesterday after saying I had a good day, losing 10 games on the bounce, tiredness and drinking does not help me lol. However I have turned it around today with 2 wins of higher opponents (I'm currently 440 as I type, I played 554 and 736 rated) The 736 rated player I played I managed to play your beautiful Fantasy Variation and won in 7 moves, yay me :). I will probably be called up for fair play soon, because my accuracy (when I'm not making blunders) is very high for my rating range, but that is down to watching hours of your videos, so once again, thank you Alex :)

In German, the letter "Z" has the English sound of "TSU," so "Zugzwang" should be pronounced "tsug-tswong."
@Chess_venomenon
@Chess_venomenon 9 месяцев назад
If you are explaining, than do it right. „Tsugtswang“ not „tswong“. Tha a is pronounced like in car.
@prieten49
@prieten49 9 месяцев назад
@@Chess_venomenon Yes, I know. In English, there are many possible pronunciations of the vowel "a." I wanted to avoid the "a" as in "slang" without having to go into examples of English words where the "a" was pronunced correctly. The "o" wasn't a perfect match but close enough. I am a native German speaker by the way.
@GaliReax
@GaliReax 4 месяца назад
@@prieten49 Normally when you write out the pronunciation for possible English speakers, and you wanna avoid them screwing up the vowels, just write "ah" to avoid them saying "ae" or "e" (like in the word "slang"). When seeing "ah" they will pronounce it as "a". This, of course, is a lot more straightforward and simpler for us Europeans 😂 Long story short - Tsugtswahng
