I was going through everything fast and conflicted the 7 band and how far it was cutting out the bottom. Made a mistake on it But I fw the ppl who can catch my mistakes and point it out in a good way.
@@thesoundmajors9858 yeah when I said you can record through the neve 1073 and tubetech plugins or Avalon or Manley voxbox and mixing will be easier I was called crazy. Or if you record clean takes they told me the sauce was in the mixing and mastering
Even though he proved all of this, people still feel an insatiable reason to still go to commercial studios to get taxed for a similar product that can be achieved at home. I'm a artist, producer and mixing engineer and I never cared how it looked, But how it sounds.
Most ppl fell for the “how to sound like” or thought it was the mixing that made the songs popular and even with ppl going to the studios they are asking for templates and presets
I appreciate you sharing this with us bro. I personally am curious at what levels the raw vocals are coming in and what kind of gain reduction is happening on each compressor. I pretty much have my own vocal mixing chain but it would be cool to see what’s actually being done vs copying and pasting settings cuz as you know, all of our vocals are different 🙏🏽
Facts bro. Stock plugins are goated. 100 dollar mics these days are probably equal to 4,000 dollar mics from the 80s & also having an external preamp definitely helps, (for a more ‘analog’ / less digital sound ) instead of plugging the mic straight into the interface…
@@Cassius-m5v for this sound u dont want some crazy analog chain. This whole thing is done in pluigns and can EASILY be done in plugins... I'd go as far as saying adding crazy analog gear to this would fuck it up. I'd also argue that Baby does not have good mixes, but it is what it is. Songs bang anyway. All In, Sumn 2 Prove, Commercial, We Paid, sooooo fire.
@@django3108guess what ? His fans that don’t make music don’t care about the “mixes “ and your option is objective and I’m sure you don’t have “good” mixes either but you’re not famous
For the homies that cant afford the oxide Hear me out Send the vocal to an aux Slightly Apply distortion to it you can use the basic pro tools lofi plug in Filter all frequencies except for 100hz to 400hz and blend it to taste with the main vocal Just an idea You can always press ctrl z if it dont work
AND FOR THE PPL ON FL JUST SAY FUCK IT AND USE FAST DIST … nah im jp use fabfilter saturn 2 or 1 and use the bm tube presets 😢 ORRRRRRRRR use stock distortion and ruin the whole mix 😂
mixing is gonna be minimal when they using a 4k mic or 10k with preamps & proper sound treatment. But its still cool to see "under the hood" on industry mixes even still.
Ya’ll producers be coping harder than ever because everyone knows you’re supposed to record properly but ya’ll love the “fake” how to sound like videos but don’t accept when a real session is shown it’s crazy
@@BizzyBeatzzI think so lol 😂 but a lot of people don’t know that sky actually worked in a studio with gunna and thug and has been telling people about the neve and TubeTech combo for years and uses it digitally
i can say from producing beats i think they cut that eq twice because sometimes when you add effects , they add new leeching frequencies , the way they cut it is crazy though
FYI. The people commenting about recording through gear and shxt I actually know that it’s not anything new. I know people personally who work with him and have platinum records with him. Recording through gear helps but you can replicate it with the universal audio neve 1073 and TubeTech CL1B The studio in Atlanta I used to work at had that setup in every room. making a song in FL STUDIO 21 with LIL BABY PRODUCER ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XY-w6OvP36U.html Recording Lil Baby Vocals Made Him a 3x Platinum Engineer ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nGWy9lYq43A.html
Help! 🤲I have all skills of recording, mixing and mastering but my songs sound weird and abnormal it's like Im on a podcast, the vocals are too overpowered I tried all presets on RU-vid but my music pierce ears can u help pls, I'm using rode nt1a and Scarlett solo... I tried every interface and microphone but nothing changes, I don't know anymore 🤦😭🤞I tried putting my interface volume on 12oclock and 9oclock but my vocals still sounds like a podcast it sound like studio
Wass gud sky Not bashing the engineer for that session but when you pointed out that EQ cut ive been there its called trying to get something to work😂😂😂😂lol
Good mics are at decent prices , ppl just gotta be willing to invest. Even when I didn’t have the best mics shxt still sounded good because I knew what to do. I even make Apple headphones sound good at this point But the purpose of the video is show people that other factors matter more than mixing or a preset because ppl have been believing that mixing is the secret sauce when it’s just a part of the process
appreciate you but ummm Peep the other comments I replied to. Mistakes happen. I have a whole audio degree I was going through everything fast and conflicted the 7 band and how far it was cutting out the bottom. Made a mistake on it But I fw the ppl who can catch my mistakes and point it out in a good way.
Hey Sky!,Can you teach your fans; How to learn FL Studio from scratch?. Including how to get samples and loading them. Making a simple beat, and explain briefly the channels and how to arrange it all to work correctly, including recording vocals. That would be a game changer for those that don't know how to use FL Studio. Can you do the same with Pro Tools?. Please consider all that, and I thank you in advance homie. Have a great week!,in this RU-vid Community we appreciate you a lot,"Cheers man!". Emmanuel
Yeah bro!,been trying to learn both, and people complicate the Tutorials, and everything you drop I do understand to perfection. Hope you can do it man, that would be awesome, and a blueprint for many Producers. @@SKYJORDXN
Yeah bro!,a full tutorial on how to start from scratch, add samples, work with channels, add effects and all that, plus work with vocals and anything you think we need to learn. Same with Pro Tools dude,it is mad important too. There's tons of videos about it,but they are hard to understand and retain, and your teaching is paused, top notch, pro and cool. Thinks about it!,it will be like a blueprint, and a game changer homie. Hope you do them!,people love long and informative/formative videos my friend. Thanks in advance man!,"Cheers!". Emmanuel
Who knows what outboard gear he used to record what kind of treated room he was in. All of the songs he recorded don’t sounds like this. In your bed room record on a $200 mic going directly in your interface come on it’s not the same
i've been to the QC studio and know people who work with him. sony mic or u87 neve 1073 tubetech cl1b i never said you can do the same with a $200 mic. as a person that has a $5000 mic in the video and use UAD plugins of the studio gear its possible :)
Well of course I’ve done videos on how ppl record in studios. But the purpose of the video is show the people who think presets or mixing is supposed to be hard that it’s nothing secret going on the INDUSTRY STANDARD VOCAL CHAIN for RECORDING VOCALS ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iEk61G53PEA.html
