Jakes is my Go to Lure...love it. That said, the hooks are not the sharpest. If you take a hone to it (Especially if you mash the barb) you will have better luck with keeping them on. Thanks for another video!
That square looking lure I think you called the Jake’s spin lure, I never would have thought it was that effective. Great episode catching lots of trout 🤙😎
Thanks for the tip Kevin! My wife and I are heading up there this Sunday for our 16th anniversary. And I’ve got a few Jake’s lures. And I know that exact spot where you’re at. So hopefully will have some luck. 🤞 Love your channel brotha! Keep it up! 🎣🔥💯
yes it did! good old jakes was the ticket! what are your thought? I saw there is a fly rod combo at Costco. I was thinking of trying It. Or would I be better off buying something nicer?
I love fishing that reservoir. I come up from Provo to fish there. I use that lure, too. In fact, that's my only lure I use. And I fish that first spot, too. Thanks for sharing...🎥😃👍👌👊🎣
dude! I am so happy you made it over to my channel! thanks buddy! I have been a big fan of your channel for years! Maybe someday we will run into each other at strawberry! Looking forward to your next video!
Yup, I was up there kayak fishing last Thursday until the white-caps chased me in to sheltered water. Caught a BIG cuttie in the morning close to shore on a gray n white tube tipped with chub. Mid-morning the bite switched from tube jigs to perch patterened Kast Masters. After the fish got bored with seeing my KastMaster I switched to a 1/4 OZ white with black dots Panther Martin spinner. It slayed them until 4PM or so until I had to leave. Took at 20-inch Rainbow home for dinner. Lost count of the fish I caught but I believe they were all survivors.
Dang, That sound like a great day of fishing! Nice going, congrats! I need to try a panther martin. I can't recall ever using one at strawberry. I bet that Rainbow was yummy!
@@baitnbullets Don't try to add chub meat to the PM spinner; it won't work properly. INSTEAD, smear chub guts onto your spinner, into its movable parts including the swivel and trebel hooks, TRYING to get it into every crease and crevise of your gear. The 'scent' of chub on your lure is pretty attactive to both Cutties and the eluside Tigers. Rainbows, not so much. This worked for me; your mileage may vary.
I’m heading to strawberry for a camping trip. Never been. I’m from Oregon and an avid fishermen up here. Any spots in particular I should start my day off at?
If you're fishing from the sore. I have always been a fan of the soldier creek side anywhere along that east side of the lake. Also by the dam has always produced. Good luck! I hope you catch the big one!
The jake's spin a lure come in 3 different sizes 1/6 ounce 1/4 and 2/3 ounce. the one I was using is the 1/4 ounce. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching buddy! I hope you catch the big one! good luck!
@@baitnbullets my best at Panguitch Lake is 28" on this lure. Also really like C-5 sinking Rapalas. Jake's also catch big fish at Panguitch Lake. Love to see people fishing with lures and I love fly fishing. Hate Power Bait because it kills so many fish.
@@gladegoodrich2297 Congrats Glade! 28" is amazing! I am going to go and buy the Thomas spoons and make sure I use them next time I am out! I love to use spoons and jigs as well.
Thanks for the tip! I just looked them up. looks like I can buy them at Cabela's. I will go get some a try them out! I don't think I have ever seen them before. I bet the fish here haven't either. Thanks for subscribing I appreciate it!
That's how I looked at it. As long as I am catching fish, I am happy! I will get into the bruisers next time! I just watched your Tiger and wiper episode. It was great! Good job.
