Mine should be arriving in August and I'm really looking forward to it. I really appreciate your balanced approach and review - honest but also realistic
Mine arrived last week and I love it. Switching out the eye visor isn't so hard for me. Those small antenna are a bit more challenging, though. I just took my time and handled it with care. Other than that, the figure is a winner and I'm psyched to finally own a super articulated Jet Jaguar.
As a man with OCD I am fine with dealing with small parts on a figure like this and having a controlled environment in collecting where I can ensure everything is kept a certain way is a healthy outlet for it. I have two revoltech Evangelion figures and they come with probably 10 times the amount of small accessories this jet does. Any accessories I don’t care to take on and off I just integrate into the figure (super glue) basically what I’m getting at is when I get that jet I’m supergluing those antenna because I don’t care about displaying him with them in multiple ways. The accessories debate has always been weird to me especially in Godzilla figures because those are like some of the LAST types of figures that need accessories considering they never hold things. I simply want the monster it doesn’t need to be a whole song and dance. Wow I yapped.
Don’t understand why figurearts, robot spirits, and monsterarts are separated the way they are considering that there’s so much overlap. For instance ultra man figures are dubbed figurearts, but one can make the argument that many of the characters in the franchise are monsters and mechs. Why???
Those tiny-ass antennas being separate hard plastic pieces is not the best choice. But otherwise he looks super good. Accurately sculpted and painted and articulation works for this character.
0:19 AAAAAAH I've been there. When I got my TMNT 1990 score on vinyl, the package was dinged up something fierce and so was the album sleeve. Luckily the records were fine but when the album sleeve has seem splits and damage to the spine it ruins the presentation of the whole thing.
I got three little glue stains drops on the silver chest on mine just under the arrow in the middle of his chest.... I tried everything to take the stains off chest area 😱😤😭😓 in other words I kept my pre-order that's on Amazon but that doesn't come until September... I've got his hand up with a thumbs thumbs up covering that area. We're talking about a millimeter drops in a row... But it's on my shelf Next to Godzilla. I have placed all the pieces in a zip bag that's what I do with my Lego pieces that cost a fortune they should have given us two heads different styles...
What’s weird about this figure to me is that in the description of the figure from different websites it says that the figure comes with a beam effect piece. Yet I don’t see anything that resembles it.
(8:31) If they ever do make a Jet Jaguar figure in the near future im not so sure if its going to be more articulated then the MonsterArts version (same goes for Hiya too). Yep not what I would expect for $100. I was interested in picking him up, but the price caused me to back off. I'm not a huge JJ fans and if I wanna spend $100, Titanic Creations stuff felt more worth the money for what you got. I do have to say tho, for the price tag, I know niche character tax and PBandai tax and all, I would expect more joint cuts. Yes, both you and Harold did say that the articulation is what one would expect from JJ. But that could also be said for almost every SHMA kaiju tho is it not? Like those big bulky kaiju would have no need for yoga poses level of motion. And yet it became a stressing point when comparing SHMA with Hiya and Super7. And the amount of parts for such articulation increased the price overall. I get that Mike said that SHF and SHMA, heck even between SHMA Goji and Gamera, didn't comunicate with one another. But SHF Ultra Kaijus felt more closer to SHMA standard kaiju engineering than JJ is to a standard SHF. If you're happy, it's fine. I personally see that there may be some room for improvements. Tho I suppose the opportunity would most likely never present itself due to the lack of humanoid design in Godzilla. I'm just trying to be fair, if Super7 and Hiya would get criticize when their articulation is rather limited, SHMA should also got it when their release felt more limited than usual no? If you enjoy it, I'm happy for you. But I just wanna point out some parts that may could be improved upon. Also for the antenna bits. I feel like they could do what nendoroid and figma did and just make it an alternate face. It's easier to get it out without breaking them that way, and it won't fell off easily or makes you nervous putting them together. For accessories I got nothing to say. You get what JJ should get. Even more I think, given that most of the time you would have his eyes activate and not dead. Just maybe decrease the price to $85-90 would be preferable for me personally.cuz hey, with $60 I could get SHF SS/SKC Ultraman (the og) that got perfect suit recreation, high articulation, and quite the accessories. I know, I know, a flagship character vs an absurd one. I'm just saying that the price gap felt too far, especially since that particular ver. did take waaaay more effort than your standard SHF
With creatures like Godzilla, the articulation is much easier to hide in the bends and folds of the suit. With a design as streamlined as JJ, sort of like Fem Muto, there isn't anywhere to hide excess articulation cuts. It's a case where the designers prioritized the sculpt of the movement.
@@kaijucanuck4492Yea I could see it as a valid point. Tho I do hope they could take reference from SHF for later humanoid release. I just realized Megalon got a bit more humanoid body looks. Perhaps they could refered to SHF for its thigh cuts, butterfly shoulder cuts, knee cuts, etc. Since even with streamlined designs, SHF still able to make the cuts look good. For example, my personal favorite, Mebius (tho dude also got the same stronk thigh as JJ) and Shin Ultraman. Tho I guess it depends on the design as well, since they screwed up Bleach figures rather simple clothing design. But ofc in their defense, Bleach used baggy clothes. Maybe having it sculpted was the issue in the first place, as a 3rd party company, Dasin Model made a beautiful one with cloth goods.
I dont really agree with some aspects of design being wrong in ''small'' degree if its noticable its significant enough its not something huge or game ender but still can be annoying enough for on few people to give up on the figure eitherway ım glad you enjoyed it and didnt had many quality control issues
