Similar story happened in Mexico. A theme park known as "La feria de Chapultepec" had one of its biggest rollercoasters fail and throw the wheels from the last cart on the row off the rail. Two people were launched off it and died. The park remains closed to this day.
If he's talking about Expoland, that accident wasnt caused by a restraint malfunction. It was caused by a defective wheel assembly that hadn't been replaced in decades. This is clickbait pure and simple.
The incident happened on the ride "Fujin Rajin II" (Sorry if I spelt it wrong). Instead of closing the ride, they closed the whole park for inspection, but once they opened back up, nobody came back, so it was shut down 2 years later.
Let’s get this top comment. People like to get facts wrong abt roller coasters to spread fear, because people already believe they are dangerous. So ofc they will believe him when he either lies or guesses abt what happened
Bro made my fear of theme park rides worse even if it is uncommon 💀 Edit: idk why people are still replying. I'm an extremely anxious person in general, I'm basically scared of everything, including people. Saying you can't die doesn't help, I have already almost passed out on a theme park ride even when I wasn't scared.
As a certified theme park enthusiast, I can tell everyone that this doesn’t happen often and you’re more likely to be struck by lightning twice or be in a car crash.
Okay. I’m just saying that the harnesses on rollercoasters are safe (if they have been checked and tested multiple times) and the chances of this happening are next to 0.
“but…what theme park? what’s the name?” “it’s in japan, you should know” “WHAT IS THE NAME???” “listen i’m gonna need you to get all the way off my back about this name thing. it’s a theme park in japan”
It's likely real, roller coaster accidents that have caused the parks to shut down have happened in Japan before, one example being Fujin Raijin II, when a derailment killed a woman in 2007 and resulted in the entire park being shut down after people stopped visiting
@@coltonandjen Yes, but if you knew anything about rollercoasters you’d know it’s physically impossible for a restraint to malfunction mid ride whether it is hydraulic or mechanical, it can’t unlock at all unless it returns to the station.
Ok thank you lol cause I’m going to a theme park with many roller coasters and it’s a little scary when you hear stories about this stuff then you go on a roller coaster and that thought is just in the back of your mind
@@ronnas4592 you get in a car to get there or even everyday and you’re a million times more likely to die in a car crash than even get into an accident at an amusement park. Just think of that.
@@cosmic_ghostbruh no, we want to see footage of the park and ideally the ride in question to serve as a visual aid, or at the very least the name of said park and specific ride, so that we can go out and research the incident for ourselves (if they aren’t willing to provide that information themselves to make a quick video and get lots of views)
Before you all freak out and become scared of roller coasters/theme parks, (which I think is what this guy is trying to do) take it from an enthusiast. You have a more likely chance of getting struck by lightning than to be severely injured/killed on a roller coaster. The odds are one in 750 million! So be safe and keep riding on!

So in cars i should hold the fucking seatbelt? Dude the chances of dying on a coaster are way lower than dying on a car crash on the way to the theme park.
I was there the night of the ICON park incident but luckily we were in Miami at the time but we had just heard the news as we got back home. Blessings for the 14yrs family🙏🙏
If anything happens to a restraint at the next bake lift block etc... the train will stop and the ride will go into emergency stop mode and can't leave that mode until all the sensors are in check. Roller coasters are SUPER safe there are sensors every few feet of track so there is no need to be scared of falling out. An accident like this is extremely unlikely.
There's a story like this, A woman said that she felt a little unsafe and asked to have the seat checked over before going on the roller coaster. They said "sure." But never checked it. The family were about 20 ft in the air, before the roller costar dropped, the woman dropped and fell to her death, right in front of her two kids and husband. Edit:I don't remember the actual height of the roller coaster so I just spat out some random garbage, sorry if I can't remember.
It was a woman that was over the weight limit, she told the operator that her seat clicked 2 times instead of 3 like everyone else’s seats. It was the Texas giant in six flags. It happened like over 10 years ago though
@@crimplayz4592 no that’s not how restraints work most modern restraints feature a completely silent hydraulic system to hold the restraint in they don’t “click” ratchet restraints however so click but they click way more than 3 times and I’m 99% sure the new Texas giant has hydraulic restraints also all coasters are hardcoded to not dispatch until all restraints are in the locked position some tho have the option to override that
I hope you know, a seatbelt wont do shit if the ride pulls negative g-forces. Also on newer rides its about a 1/1B chance of dying on a new ride by a trusted manufacturer, though if its by some random company in Mexico that nobody has ever heard of you may actually be concerned about it. (Also most rides opening around the world rn dont have seatbelts)
Exactly why you shouldn't put yourself in situations that if something out of your control OR in your control fails, results in almost certain death. I don't mean "live in a bubble." Injury risk or stuff that are likely to be medically treated if something goes wrong can be thrilling for some. Playing with your life? No. A roller coaster is not worth risking your own life. You could tell me "You take a risk every time you leave your house," but risks add up. A person who leaves their house isn't in the same danger as a rock climber. They could get struck by lightning and maybe they'll still survive. The rock climber can fall AND get struck by lightning. One risk doesn't nullify the others. When you're on a ride you are at the same risk as anyone else PLUS the extra risks. You may think you're safe because it's a rare occurrence, but isn't that what the victim thought too?
THATS WHAT IM SAYING. Like the gif makes this seem like he doesnt care at all about the dead person, i actually assumed they lived because he used such a light hearted gif.
I went on a ride with my 8 year old cousin (close sibling if anything) and we went on this fast roller coast which I went on when I was his age. Skip when we get on the ride, the little bar that sits on our laps was to way big for him and he could easily sip in and out. Even me, being 13 at the time could slip out as well, so, being the oldest and biggest I had to pin him against the shoulder of the seat and with my elbow on his chest, so when he flew up a little I could push him back down. For y’all wondering why we didn’t just get off the ride we couldn’t because we waiting 3 hours and we weren’t going to waste that time (says him, he had a death wish)🤦🏾♀️
From a young age I have always avoided these type of rides. I don't care if I seem like a wimp, it's unnecessary to go on if you don't feel comfortable doing so in the first place. I also had a really skinny friend who went on a ride and she mentioned to me that it was a nightmare, because she kept slipping out and her friend sitting next to her, had to keep holding her down.
If the ride bars don't go far enough for a skinny person there's something wrong holy crap- But yeah, personally I love roller coasters and extreme rides, the adrenaline they give, but I can see people not liking them and if you try one and don't like it you don't need to keep forcing yourself, everyone's got different ideas of fun (Btw the story he told is fake lol)
Being one of those kinds of people... it is terrifying for certain ones. Especially the over the head harness looking restraints. One gal didn't give the restraint enough clicks to tighten it closer to my body (or 'staple' me in), and I could literally move the restraint up and down about 4inches. It wiggled. I didn't get back on it that day. Not with that operator still there. The restraints on that ride had 8 clicks. Out of 8 I probably got a 5, seemed like. No thanks. 😂
