Saddle, Country Clubbin', Country As F*ck, Prayed for the Rain, the list just goes on. He's amazing and it's such a great combination of genres instead of flat out pop country.
Can we talk about your shirt for a moment?? Where can I get one??? John Prine and Jason Isbell are two of the greatest songwriters I’ve ever known of. I’ve been obsessed with their recordings together for a little while now, and I can’t get enough of em.
I couldn't tell it was Paul from your thumbnail, but as soon as I saw the words country, funk, and outlaw I knew it couldn't be anyone other than the insanely talented Paul Cauthen.
Hi Michael, we need MORE guitar teachers like you! You are truly an inspiration and your passion for guitar playing/composition is AMAZING. Every video I watch of yours makes me pick up my guitar and play. Thank you.
Paul's voice, utterly amazing! I am so glad you have discovered him. Hoping you are listening to every album now! Paul and Orville together as the Unrighteous Brothers, straight elevator music of Heaven!!!!
I discovered Paul Cauthen about two years ago or so when a friend had him on her show in Austin. That night I went to photograph his show and he blew my mind! These guys live are absolutely killer and will leave you exhausted at the end. I knew after that night that Paul Cauthen was the next big thing in outlaw style country music. His energy and constant dancing that you don’t see here is addicting! Pay attention to him folks, he’s going to blow through the top and keep going! His band is killer too, and great guys as well!
“Hot damn” is another badass one & his stuff with the Unrighteousness brothers (Orville Peck) will floor you. So soulful, his song “let it burn” makes me cry.
So happy to see you get excited about all these people I love too and also turning me onto some new stuff. You are the man, I love how honest and real you always are. Thank you
First show I saw at the Tractor Tavern (Seattle) since things opened up from COVID was Paul with an acoustic solo with Daniel Donato coming up on stage to play some tunes with him. I straight up cried. He blew me away. Commanded the room like a champ and had the crowd in the palm of his hand.
Been waiting on this for about 3 years now. At the beginning of COVID he did a concert stream on Facebook. He fucking killed it. Was getting fucked up on weed and whiskey the whole concert. Destroyed is guitar at the end and had to finish a capella. Nailed it!
Thanks so much for this video - I'd seen the name Paul Cauthen but had no clue about his music - Due to your strong words and the smokin' licks on the video, I'm checking out the band on May 18 here in Pittsburgh - I try to never miss great live music and really appreciate supporting those still relatively unknowns - Again, thanks
Your my favorite freaking channel bro. Paul Cauthen and his boys are my favorite ever. I'm working on this song myself. His singing is not easy at all. Whole other level!!!!
Key Board player Rhythm section…all of it …Hot Grease Fire is the name of the Band. That band is a magic carpet of great music from a group of people that know how to play.❤❤❤❤❤
Watched your videos for a few years. Love what you do. Discovered Paul Cauthen this week and this was in the PC queue. Dude is slinky soulful and its mean and dirty as hell. 4th night in a row of listening. Do a whole show guitar teacher !!
Such an amazing performer was honestly the best show at a pretty good line up (Under the Big Sky Festival 2021). Ended up chatting with him for a bit right after his performance and caught a picture with him right after watching him pocket some “stuff” from a fan
I loved your video with Daniel Donato! Ironically, I discovered Daniel when he toured with Paul Cauthen in ‘17 (ish). Daniel’s playing was so amazingly melodic!
I stumbled upon Paul Cauthen a couple years ago, and he's definitely become a go to for me. The energy at the Soundstage show was incredible. I was psyched to catch it after my shift. The man is killing it! And he's got some sweeeet dance moves.
Michael, You found Paul, good on you. I caught his live show awhile back and six plus years into this guys music I am a dedicated fan. He covers a lot of musical territory. His albums My Gospel, Room 41, Country coming down, Plus his EP Have mercy. Folks want different, well here it is. Check out his back catalog, go see him when you can…..And for now check him out and his fellow Texas and label mate Charley Crockett. These guys are coming up fast and hard. Check out Paul’s track from his latest release “Roll on over”, an absolute Masterpiece in my opinion and seeking a larger audience. Also check out Charley’s track “I need your love” I’m a huge fan of off the radar artists and Paul and Charley are just two of many that I will mention right now. Enjoy Michael and thanks for what you do it is awesome!🎶
This song hooked me on Paul about a year ago, just as if he was a big fat line of funky country cocaine. I've never actually watched a live video, and man they really dig in and it's so invigorating to see.
Bro, I've been listening to this dude for a year, he's the country pink floyd for me hahaha, his song "Everybody Walkin' this land" is great! I'm so pumped you featured him!
Michael! You should take a listen to Cody Johnson in his campfire sessions with CMT. Specifically his song "Cowboy life". I remember from your Colter Wall video of Kate McCannon, you mentioned how much you love his imagery with the black raven. The imagery in Cowboy Life is sooooo good!
Understand Cocaine Country Dancing is his Whipping Post. Thats his finisher. Country as Fuck was his opener and it was bad ass. Leaning into metal. Such s strong opener
