I absolutely love that you thrift your kids' gifts. It's frugal and responsible. We used to rewrap our baby toys and regift them to the next baby. Almost all of our kids' clothes came from Once Upon a Child - resale store. Very good quality and affordable. Great video, Natalie! ❤

My kids like very niche things and sometimes thrifting is the only way I find gifts in their interests. No shame in it! I’d much rather have curated personalized baskets than the expensive premade baskets.

Thanks for keeping it real regarding chronic medical condition flare up. So often when we see "influencers" as viewers, we think "oh look their life is perfect, aren't they so lucky" but what we don't realize is that, for example, you are video blogging on a "good day" and you have issues that you are dealing with too. Your honesty sets your audience at ease with "oh, she managing through with her problems too, one day at a time". Thank you! 💜

I went through part of my kitchen just the other day. I gound so many ingredients that I really wanted to cook with but due to circumstances never had. They were years expired and being brutally honest I threw so much away, because I'm never going to use them anyway so no buying it again. I did buy a hanging metal basket set I was eyeing for weeks but first needed the space for it, I'm storing potatoes, onions and such in it. I'm so happy with the result and how that nook of the kitchen turned out. Thank you for the inspiration to do this Natalie! Love the grow house! I usually put wrap over it because I have a very small suburban garden and not much room inside. I'm trying to do more this year but all in containers, so we started the tomatoes already, that are growing way to quick, some hot peppers and we'll try bell pepper, corn, cucumber, carrots and radishes and potatoes and corn. But our frost date is not until the middle of May so I really need to wait with most of this. My grandma loved lily-of-the-valley so I really want some of that in my garden eventually. We used to have a good will thrift toy store nearby, everything they sold was donated and the money they got went to a clothes bank in my town. I have bought so much there. Not only did I help a local good will organisation nut toys can be expensive and sometimes they plau woth it only a little while. I'n so bumbed that the store had to close. I'm always interested to see Easter baskets. Though I live in a Christian country (the Netherlands) we do not really have that tradition here. Usually children get some chocolate and go on a (chocolate or real) egg hunt but that's about it. But my mother-in-law is Belgian and there they have the tradition of giving things.

Containers can be so helpful, if the packaging is a pain, and most bags definitly are. I love your realistic outlook on what you can actually handle in a day. Also the frequent updates on the systems you put in place and weather they work or not. I would love it if you added the time you need for your tasks from time to time. It's hard to tell from the speed up parts. Something like "Tidying up the kitchen only took 17 minutes." Like I said, not all the time, but sometimes it might be useful for reference when you see a similar mess in your own home.

I totally love your thoughts about Easter giving to your kids! My son is 17 years old and he has always loved Lego sets. What a great idea for your kids! They are great for rainy days or just after they have been playing outside and worn themselves out. I should get my son a set for Easter. He still loves those. I totally understand your thoughts about the things in your corner cabinet. I am in a chapter of my life where I don't bake as often. I have so much baking stuff and tons of cookie cutters. I have them organized and stored on shelves in the garage. I pull them out when I need them.

It is sooooo nice to hear someone speak out about pushing ourselves too hard with chronic illness/pain! As a PT who specializes in chronic pain I have to constantly work with my patients on taking things in manageable chunks and listening to their bodies. Pushing through tasks and doing too much is actually called "boom-bust cycle"- you explode with activity and push through tasks and end up "busting" when pain etc becomes too great that daily function becomes a burden. Not a sustainable process. Keep listening to your body- it will tell you what it needs ❤

I have an autoimmune system disease and fybromyalgia ... sometimes I can hardly get out of bed and end up feeling so sad and disappointed because my little people have to put up with me... my husband is so kind and understanding and helps so much after work, and that makes me feel so lazy... I am currently carrying our rainbow baby (#3) and have hypertension and am diabetic so extra appointments, and yeah, my home is a struggle. Thanks for mentioning this it made me feel a bit better somehow. ♡

@simplelivinghappyhome1623

@@Magdalena287 getting through a day of caring for ourselves can be challenging enough when you have a chronic illness, but adding the demands of others can just make things seem impossible. Make daily priority lists, involve the kids in as much as they can do for their ages, take breaks and listen to when your body says it needs rest, take those breaks but return to your task when you've had time to deep breath and bring you pain back down to a manageable place, and (most of all) give yourself grace if you don't get everything done. Your house isn't going to fall apart and you and your family will still wake up safe and happy tomorrow if the floor doesn't get mopped or dusting doesn't get done. Its people like you that make me love my job 😇

Why would anyone care if you bought secondhand gifts for children? What do people who can't afford to buy new stuff every holiday and gifting time supposed to do? Why would we give away perfectly good things to a thrift store or sell them again if they aren't good enough to be used once more? 😂 I think buying second hand would really help us slow down on consumerism, and teach our kids that brand new isn't always better. Being more frugal isn't always cheaping out, it can be wise stewardship of our funds, our belongings, and what we bring into our homes. Nothing wrong with buying new, but if you can find a better price for items that are well maintained why wouldn't you go for it? The heart behind the gift giving is much more important then the cost. As always love your videos. Especially the what you got your kids portions!

I have bought used ceramics as well. My aunt broke something from her set that she purchased 20 years ago. She was thrilled when I found the same mug on eBay and gifted it to her on her birthday. I have also regifted unwanted gifts. On Christmas I gave some super cute socks to my cousin that my mother in law gave me as a present. They were really cute, but unfortunately too small for me. Some people donate brand new items and I especially take advantage of those when I see them. It makes me feel good that it's going to good use what someone let go off. Thrifting is so eco-friendly and a wonderful thing. I enjoyed hearing about your garden and backyard stuff and inspired about what someone else might be doing with theirs. I've thrifted gifts for my 3 also!! I found things I wouldn't normally get as Easter stuff, like bigger toys at a fraction of the cost! In fact I remember one thrift store having a drawer of batteries so you could test the toys before purchasing. When you talked about your chronic pain and cycle of getting it all done and risking flaring up the pain .. I took a deep breath and said to myself 'Thank You Natalie' for reminding me to give myself the same grace. XOXO Big Hugs

I’m totally for thrifting and I have done it with Legos as well. My daughter is 15 and she now loves thrifting as well. She enjoys a good bargain and being sustainable! ❤

Oh I definitely thrift gifts for my kids! I have even done it for others, especially if what I want to give them is no longer in production.

Absolutely thrift, whenever possible! The kids never know the difference, and it is the thought that counts! It is also fun to see green grass there and fresh flowers! We are in Northern Minnesota, and it is snowing AGAIN!!! But, I do have to say, it is very pretty here too!

I love thrifting and as a matter of fact I just came up with an idea for Easter, I will be diy-ing an Easter themed puzzle, so I will be thrifting a puzzle instead of buying a blank one from Amazon 😊

Love the music in this one, Natalie. It’s giving me Cinderella feeding the animals-vibes from the Disney movie

I LOVE the downtime and the rest, Natalie! The Holy Spirit has had me focusing on the exact same thing lately... letting Him slow me down and tend to my heart in His hands...and this video is a wonderful encouragement to that process. I will be praying for you, Sister, as He leads. Just keep loving Him and enjoy the journey! PSALM 103 💖💖💖
