yep, look how negative the comments are, theres 2 types of people, players who liked actually earning rewards, and people who will never stop until they can press a button to spawn a naxx full bis toon
Sounds like an alt catch up mechanic like you said, Blizzard likely wants new players to go through the existing quests and puzzles they made to get the runes at least once. And a big part of why I only ever made one alt in SoD when I was playing was because of the runes. It's a good change for SoD but too little to late. For me I really don't like how far the runes went so it wont get me to come back. GIVE ME CLASSIC PLUSS FOR REAL, LOCK IT IN NOT THAT TYPE OF VIDEO.
Sod started out so promising and was absolutely amazing in p1 with the prospect of what I could've been. They clearly went in the wrong direction and it feels like a massive beta for what's to come. I just hope they realize that we really wanted. Which is more in the line of tbc design. Slightly better classes and alot more content pve and pvp.
Gearing an alt will actually be very fun this phase because there's multiple raids and new dungeons out. The new dungeons also fill out the content new 60s will have, as well as make the gear progression really engaging since they are getting new stuff without the barrier of entry of needing to find MC runs while they still have leveling gear.
I love alts. I have 8 60's. I am a big theory crafter, guild leader etc. So I dont raid log, but I'm also not a Retail player either. That being said, these should have been earlier P3 lul woulda been great to help with all the down time. And almost all of my alts have these runes already so yeah lol.
The rune system was a little fun at the start of SoD, but yeah, I'd be down for them just coming up with a different system at this point for it to be easier for people to catch up. Especially if the pvp to pve server transfer isn't a thing, starting over at level 1 if people want to go that route, won't be as awful an experience since the leveling boost is already in the game. Besides a level 40 druid and a couple of alts in their 50s, I'm pretty much done with brand new alts myself to answer your question from the video, but can see some people still wanting to try other classes at some point, especially if they have free time on their mains that are just raid logging now and have 100 reals (current limit) in their bag for the T2 bracers expected in phase 5. Although the new character creation will be a wall for some that planned on it until the mega server changes go into effect sadly.
They need to just put all the runes on a vendor for 5g each. This game is having enough problems already, we don't need to put ANY walls up for new players.
I'm leveling a Warlock alt right now actually because my main is a Ret, and just in case my guild gets packed up sometime, well Rets aren't exactly in high demand right now. 😬 But yeah this change is sick, glad they got around to it!
I'm just raid logging and going to retail for pvp. I've been playing since 2005 and I raided from tbc to cata first raid in a top guild. I have always pvped on the side and even did the Warlord grind and a couple of gladiator runs (with no success, rank 1 duelist for life). I tried retail raiding and mythic dungeon and it's not even close to classic raiding feel. I just want to turn off the brain and zug bosses down for loot. I'm ok with raid logging and playing something else. Wow classic doesn't have to be everything.
Nice to see some catchup mechanics coming for sure. My alliance guild on CS died after Cata came out. People either went there or stopped playing :( figured I’d try some shaman tanking fun on wild growth but man finding a group for any leveling dungeon is basically off the table. Same for level up raids, I know it’s later into the game but man I didn’t think it’d be this bad. At least I’ll be able to get some of them runes a bit easier now 😅
Adding undermined reals token at an increased price like 50 reals for skipping the quest while also offering the 5 real one for players that already completed it would fix that.
I have two lvl 60. And that's enough anyway. There was a lot of contentless time in the past were we could spent our time by leveling alts, but the rune issue made me not doing that. Know its a bit to late
I agree it's way to late, and stupid the cost is reals. It's a catch up mechanic but you have to run a 55+ dungeon to get lvl 40 runes. Should just be gold.
You know buddy that when Nestle bought the rights to bottle poland spring they have been litterally sucking it out of the spring here in maine and it has been shown to have more impurities than tap water out of Sebago lake here. Moderation if you keep drinking it /hug
I dunno, I'd be okay with them making some of the more annoying runes a bit easier early on, or more soloable, but I think just giving the runes for free on new characters/alts is fucking lame and anti classic. Unpopular opinion, I guess. Yeah, new players should have to go earn their runes, a lot of the runes get you out in the world, you know, the part of classic we all supposedly play for?
I had 4 alts in p3 and got them all pretty bis but in p4 theres so much to do and with Heat I ended up just playing main and getting one to 60 but with zg coming I'll probably play that alt somewhat.
100% about to resub. I quit 3 days after phase 3 release due to the community, not the game itself, so it will be nice to get my runes easier. Got tired of people stressing on parses and gear in a seasonal setting (I mean, literally finishing a raid 5 minutes late, no wiping, and complaining). I know this isnt everyone, but I got tired of it. Always going to come back though, being a sweaty bastard.
I've done the .5 chain on 3 toons now. Need the game to realize that we've done it and to just have the vendor sell the items as long as you have the gear to swap for.
Tello! yes it's too late, but still give us alt runes... I've gots some half finished alts that I want to try at 60 and even with phase 5 coming I wanna see what they are like with all the rune they have instead of the 2 or 3 I've bothered to collect.
Locking trades and AH from newbies hurt the game. Being seasonal didnt help either. If SOD was permanent or somehow linked to a future Classic + you'd still have a few hundred thousand more playing it.
@@heroofhyrule9778 There is no news of what happens to these toons after the last phase. This might be a practice/test for plus but it doesnt look like SOD will become it.
Yes they did it way way too late. On the other hand no one is new to Sod. At this point we will have no new accounts/players making completely new characters unless they’re bots.
If they just made it simple and you could just buy the runes for gold in game then yes. But since they are doing like a shared mechanic plus like 5 reals? Now i have to look up with runes are shared with other classes? They are still micro managing it to much. Love to play an Alt Shadow priest.
I have everything to 50+ and getting runes is a chore and not fun particularly when means of acquisition are identical to other classes. There's some fun stuff, but there's a ton of overlap (which is totally fine, for your first or second tub through). If they want people playing alts at endgame level in appreciable numbers, it makes sense to make catch up mechanics, which have been a thing in wow since classic was retail.
