Lets face it when we breed one of the bigest problems we face is loosing chicks early on in their development or shortly after they fledge. is this infection spread only by parents rearing? or is it passed to the chick through the egg? in other words. if you hand rear chicks. could you in theory eliminate this infection from your aviaries? Thanks

Hi Finn im not sure of what species of birds are available to you guys over there but due to your cold winter months you wouldnt be able to keep an open aviary similar to mines unless you cover up for the winter or bring the birds indoors

@@paradiseaviary Would zebra finches be able to live outside all year round. If they had a sheltered area. A insulated wonder box with a small door that closes. Something like a small chicken coop. ?

Problem with medicin if you give them to small dosis is that the bacteria or parasit maybe survive the small dosis

Hey Rachel. Ronidazole is a brand name for metronidazole which is an antibiotic. You might want to consider that this medication is actually an antibiotic and you’d want to reduce unnecessary treatments if you can. Usually when you have a diagnosis and visible signed but never use antibiotics as preventative. Not meant to criticize. Just thought I’d share my 34 yrs experience in breeding birds. Take care

If I were Rancel with over 700 birds during breeding, I would favor prevention over sick bird treatment to minimize my losses. Imagine - 1 sick bird could infect 700!

@@thepresidentsdesk3739 bad practice no matter the numbers. All you do is create weak stock by making them immune to the antibiotics. With this amount of birds you qualify as a top breeder and not just a fancy one with 10 pairs and as such you need to make sure you have healthy birds. Back in Europe top breeders like Rancel have an avian vet on call for different reasons….

Hello my friend i have question about daimond finch I have 2 and they do the same sound.. the alarm soud and a other sound but the other one is smaller body shape and the other one is tall body shape whoe is female and whoe is male.
