I'm 57 and getting ready to go back to school. It's shocking how many people have, flat out, told me that I am too old and that I should have done it when I was 20. One person actually said to me that I have no business going back to school at my age. I got so discouraged that I packed up all my books to donate them. So, I got on RU-vid, and started searching for people my age who are going back to school, and I found this video!! I immediately unpacked my books and put them back on the shelf. Thank you soooooo much for sharing your story. It revived my will to carry on. There will always be age discrimination. But, I would rather tackle that WITH a degree than without, despite the negative nellies and nay sayers. ❤❤❤. If you want to go to school, do it. Let's do this!!! 😊
It is so nice that you want to study. I'm 27 and about to get my bachelor degree on law. Those ppl that said that to you are not good persons, just stay away from bad people in your life and always follow your dreams. It is never too late to follow your dreams, we have just one life for that. Just always remember that education is timeless! I wish you the best of the best in the future. 😀
I am 50yrs old and about to start a bachelor of psychology. I did a chemistry degree when I was 20yrs old and enjoyed years working in labs. Now I feel like I have a second shot at life..psychology has always interested me and I have been an energy healer for years. Now I wish for qualifications to counsel people. I have suffered through life and survived by continuing to grow and learn. I am a disability carer. Please, whoever reads this, wish me wellxo
I have learned that the worst thing one can do is listen to negative people. I am the same age as you and I just got accepted to UC Berkeley and UCLA! If I can do it, so can you.
I never knew there was such thing as too old for college. My parents are in their 40s and I wish they could get their GED and go to college so they won't have to work these hard labor jobs. Congrats to anyone who decides to better themselves no matter what age.
Exactly my story! I got tired of these jobs where you have to work hard and get paid little money! I have two more classes before I start my nursing program! All Glory to God!
Here iam at 32 y/o crying searching for a vlog on someone who has returned to school at 30s hoping to find some encouragement. First video i come accesos is her story. I never went to highschool and i can relate when she stated going back to school has alwsys been her dream. I want to continue where i left off to feel proud of my self and quit setting up myself for failure because im not. I will call this min and sign up to adult school ❤
You're never to old! The lovely woman who saved my life grew up in the great depression era, got her degree at the age of 50+, and retired at 75. She was my guardian angel and had she not been there for me I wouldn't be here now. You're never too old, and someone out there is waiting and depending on you to grind though and meet with them after your success.
This made me cry. I am 30 and going for my bachelors . I can totally relate when she says she doesn't belong because her age. I get that a lot. I try to ignore it and focus on the dream ahead. Thank you for sharing your story.
I'm 33 right now but will be 34 in a few months. I quit my job two years ago to go back to school because I have a lot of passive income to live off of. School is hard for me because of online classes and I also have cognitive difficulties because I'm also a schizophrenic. But I have 57 more credits to go so I'm looking to finish in 2026 if everything goes right. I can not tell y'all how happy I'll be when I get that degree. I failed so many times with college before it's embarrasses me to talk about it because my college journey has just been so long. But I'll finally feel like I'm winning at life.
I’m 47. Graduating with my associates degree next week. I’ve been in college with 3 of my kids. I’m on to my bachelors I’ll finish that when I’m 50 and my youngest graduates high school. I’ll. Still have 3 kids in college then... I’m a school bus driver. I LOVE my job. But... I need a retirement so. I’ll follow this dream and do the hard work to graduate. For them to prove it’s worth it and to prove it to myself... never too late. It’s not easy
I am 28 years old i am currently going to my local community college part-time and i do sometimes feel like an old man in a young people environment but i feel like i need to accomplish what i always wanted to do in life which is to gradute college with a bachelors degree which i hope to accomplish in a few years. It's truly never too late to go back to school and accomplish your dreams.
this is such an inspiration. I was troubled kid when i was younger i could barely read, write or count a few years ago. i am now going back as a mature students to basic skills. one day i hoe to do a degree.
Wow, powerful. ❤ I’m 38 getting ready to go back to school, still picking up the pieces from the grief of losing a family member, and my youngest child is also high support needs. I’ve been having feelings of doubt, and thoughts of “what am I thinking?!?” This is the video I didn’t know I needed.
This video is a sign for me. I'm on a similar journey. On a grief journey returning to work middle-aged. I felt low about my age and my chances. I needed to see this. Thank you.
I will be 39 next month, have 5 children and always regretted not going to college. She is such an inspiration. LIfe is so hard and you can see her perseverance. I wish I had that. I hate where I am but you can never go back ...
I am so glad I saw this video. I was in a online college but my housing situation and family issues tore me down and took me out of the game. But now my situations has changed and I am in a better mind set to go back to continue on with my educational journey and complete the goals I set for myself. 🙌🏾
You're never too old to go to school or go back to school. Never give up on your dreams! I'm so happy to see this video and see people in the comments going back or considering going back to school. I hope if there's a perceived barrier blocking anyone from pursuing their dream, please know that if you have a breath in you, you can do it. Many blessings to you all!
It's never too late to go back to school, unfortunately some people don't agree but it's never too late. You might face challenges if you're trying to obtain employment and internships but don't let that stop you.
I have been wanting to go back to School this year. I'm terrified as I would be going at it alone, and being 30. I'm still figuring it out, i have anxiety and that just complicates things.
I went back for my Bachelor's Degree last year at the age of 37. My friend's that all went back in their 30's said to save up and pay cash before going, so that's what I did. I have met 36, 42 a 65 year old here. It's going good so far and I am so anxious for graduation and to start my new career!
I'm 63 and have been going to school and taking classes off and one for over 30 years. In 2 years, I can go for free on a space available situation and hope to finish a Bachelors. I have over 100 hours total and unfortunately many of those are scattered to different areas of study.
I wish you a lot of success . I tried to get baccalauréat since 2017 but i could not get it because i did not go to school but just participate What do you advise me?
Im 46 and the only reason i would go to college would be to bring some conservatatfism to the campus. I own my own business and graduated from the university of hard nocks.
omg who cares about age when it comes to learning and an education, who cares what other people think, if they cant understand it then they aren't smarter enough to understand. our greatest minds don't just stop thinking when they turn a certain age that others are critical of, ridiculous
Who said she is looking for a slave job idiot!!! Not everyone does things just to get a job. Ever heard of self fulfillment? Probably, you seem like a internet stalker creep with no life and or skills. Here's a thought...why don't you go to school?????
Well I am 36 going on to 37 and I have been job to job in warehouse, retail customer service and its hard so for me getting certified or a degree will have its advantages
@@starshell84 36 or 37? I am talking 50s and 60s. Btw, if you have been out of school that long though, you better have kept your mind sharp and not dropped out failing.
