We are nothing of not predictable with our lame BTS jokes, same with “Fire” which is another term people use and is an equally awesome song that makes a good follow up to this one. Thank you as always for your reaction and always enjoy your reactions are truly a joy to watch. And it’s funny how fast the word spreads among Army about the top tier reactors, which you are. We Purple you too. A note about the song gave up on 3, 5, 6 refers to the idea of their generation giving up on things like love/marriage/children/buying a house/careers etc and how much they are hindered by the society they inherited from the previous generations. Also yes that was JK as the cop! Also (by many metrics) this is one of the top 20 choreography but it’s not top 10 because they have too many epic hard and intense ones. It does get a crowd going but Fire absolutely kicks for getting folks hyped… honestly a lot of their songs do who can pick one?

How fitting you love “dope”! I love that this song isn’t about something lame like dressing cool, going to the clubs, driving fancy cars as one would expect based on the title. But they’re actually saying hard work, passion, perseverance, commitment, originality, self belief, success is dope. Everybody should realize that! They are true idols as well as superstars

I recommend Pied Piper and also Dimple (live is best for both) . Though, let's be honest, everything they do has something to offer so you can't go wrong.

Another interesting thing about their costumes, is that it's not one theme (other than being hard workers)- it's completely individualistic (vs all race car drivers, all cops, etc.). This MV came out during a time when there were several allegations of plagiarism/copycatting, and I feel like this was their way of throwing shade, like, "try saying we ripped off your theme now!"

Yes, that is definitely JK with the high note. And yes, Jin does not , does not age !!! It’s nice to hear you proclaiming yourself an ARMY. I can’t recommend any next song for you to react to because they are all great. What you should check out is their cover of Puff Daddy/Faith Evans/Sting’s I’ll be missing you, and also their cover of Coldplay’s Fix You. You really should check out a live version of Dope. Every version I’ve seen is Dope; JK hits that high note (yes you got it right it is JK) flawlessly each and every time, the choreography is executed perfectly. In fact the only difference from the music video is the outfits.

"Giving up on 3" (Sam po-sede or Sam-po for short) is the name of a generation - the Korean equivalent for Millennials. And the "Giving up on 5" (Oh po-sede or Oh-po) generation are the Gen Z's. The names are about what they have had to give up to survive economically. The 3-po generation say they gave up dating, marriage and childbirth because of low paying jobs, scarcity, and instability. The 5-po's added home ownership and friendships to the list as it got even harder for them to get ahead. The next line about "giving up on 6" is actually RM making a play on words. The translation is incorrect. Most translations say "I like the number six so how about giving upon six?" The actual line is "Giving up on three? Giving up on five? I like jerky, so how about giving up on six?" Yook-po is beef jerky, and it's also how you would say "giving up on six" or "6-po" in Korean. "Yook" is a way to say the number six. FYI there isn't a 6-po generation. The newest is the 7-po (chil-po) generation who added hopes and dreams to the list of things they have to give up. This makes J-hope's verse even more meaningful to young people in South Korea. Together they are called N-po generations because the list seems to keep growing as things continue to get harder for young people. BTS are a mix of 5-po's and 7-po's, age-wise.

This was the first vid of their's I ever watched it was back in the day when I was first getting into k drama and k pop. I was crazy into BigBang(the biggest kpop idol group at this time) and I remember at the time some news article saying Jhope sounded like GDragon(the main rapper/leader of BigBang) in this song. So I looked on the RU-vids and found this vid and I was in awe of their dancing skills - freaking sick (I only thought JHope sounded a tiny bit like GD). They were so baby face then that I had a harder time being "into" them because I'm an older ARMY. I had the same problem when I saw the Blood, sweat, and tears vid shortly after. I Freaking loved that song but they all just looked so beautiful and young I felt weird haha. They've grown up and I've since gotten over my aversion to the age gap and have gone full ARMY, but I consider myself a fan since 2015. Don't know why I felt the need to tell my conversion story, but there you go.

Yeah Kim Seokjin ages when he fricken feels like it lol. Also I feel like "I reject rejection" is such an iconic line and basically describes the way BTS went pretty well. Another thing, I think yoj are doing great at recognizing the members by now. And it's great to see the elders get some recognition (from what I know, usually the three youngsters Jeongguk, Taehyung and Jimin get the most recognition and hype so it's really good to see people appreciating the older members.)

Yes, you should not have waited this long to watch Dope. This is some of my fav choreography every. My eyes always seem to end up watching Jimin - I think he just SLAYS it here. I agree about everything you're expressing, but in regards to the different outfits and the representation of the occupations I believe BTS is telling the youth (or whatever age) that no matter what you want to become whether beit a doctor, accountant you have to work hard to get there, avoid distraction, don't follow the in crowd. The success will come and enjoy the journey. Hustle life.....and ARMY can see that BTS is enjoying their life and the rewards. As you this is one of my favorite top three videos. One of the great things about BTS is that their music evolves as they grow older. Like during their earlier work, in the first era, they talked about the oppressive education system in their song N.O. They also talked about the prejudice against their generation, during the second era, in their song Baepsae. They’ve also talked about savoring youth in another and loving yourself in another era. The message of their songs in each era grows with them, I’m not explaining this well but I hope you get it hahaha. I just think it’s amazing that with each album you can see how much they’ve grown and matured. By the way, Fire has a slightly similar feel but different message. It’s a total power song, though. Also Life Goes On from their BE album is so amazing and talks about how life is during the pandemic. The music video is so authentic and aesthetically pleasing. Plus, the song is mellow but catchy. You should check them out. ☺️

Other kpop artists that doesn’t age it seems are for examples Leeteuk, Ryewook and Kyuhyun from Super Junior the group have been active sense 2005, N, Leo, Ken and former member Ravi from Vixx have been active sense 2012, the members from Shinee has been active sense 2008 and have age very little sense, they started as a five member group, sadly Jonghyun past away 2018, their is members from other groups that also have hardly aged sense their debut.

Jin looks the same because he was already an adult (20 years old) when he was recruited for BTS. All the other members were still in high school and middle school.

But Keone Madrid, the choreographer for this song, is actually insane. Bruh… the Charleston, the stumbling jazz square, the footwork, the musicality…. I’ve watched this video at least 10 times and the way they hit the Charleston gets me every time. That man Keone really incorporated jazz dancing with a hip hop/edm style beat. Insanity
