@@exagem I've recently become aware of the premium bible scene, and rebinding is a huge part of it. There are quite a number of bible rebinders out there who will either take a new bible and your old one, remove the cover and attach and custom leather one. It's not cheap though! A few businesses include Cherry Hill, AE and ICA. Of course, you could try it yourself!
@@jakersni9499 My understanding is the vast majority of rebinds are done with soft cover Bibles. Part of the process involves cutting off most of the original cover but gluing some underneath the new cover.
I wonder if bonded leather does better over time when it's over board instead of left alone as a flexible cover. Anyone have any experience with that? [I thought I was asking this in the live chat, which had apparently just vanished, so I logged out and back in to get there again ... ha ha on me! 😅]
As my pastor says of the Apocryphal books, "They are not Canonical, but they are interesting reading." You, sir, are a nerd with a cause, God's love letter to us.
I've questioned why it's believed thst they aren't canonical yet the original bible cononized before the reformation had the apocryphal in it, it wasn't until luther thst the books of the apocryphal were removed
Great looking hardcover and I really like the extra margin space, although I'd prefer to see something like this in Crossway's Large Print text-only edition.
Love the look of this. This looks like it could be a really nice pulpit Bible for public scripture reading, especially since some of Crossway’s pew bibles will have matching pagination.
Yes!!! Thank you so much for reviewing this beautiful Bible! Great review and been eyeing this Bible for some time now. Always wanted to know what you thought of it. Ordering now. 😊
Well done! I think the two changes I would make would be to place the Apocrypha between the first and new covenants, and then include the full text of Daniel with Greek additions, just like Esther (this is what the Augustine Bible does with Daniel). Thanks for sharing!
Man, I've been wanting the ESV with apocrypha. I really like this one and the Cambridge diadem but my issue is that i want it in single column. If there was an ESV bible with apocrypha in a single column format i would jump on that so fast
Thanks for letting us know about this one, Tim. I just received mine today; it’s beautiful & truly high quality. But the font size for the Apocrypha is terrible. I think I’ll get a headache trying to read it. It’s awful that Crossway forced them to do this, how absurd. Maybe they could have gone for a thicker bible in a larger font though.
This is my first time seeing the ESV with Apocrypha from Anglican. I am also interested in the ESV Diadem with Apocrypha. Do you know if the Diadem version has the same type face for all of it? I am hesitant to choose the Anglican ESV because of the smaller text for the Apocrypha. Thank you.
Zondervan NIV, Giant Print Compact Bible, Leathersoft, Brown, Red Letter, Comfort Print Can you please do a review on this bible. For the people who need giant print I feel like it's the one.
Another review mentioned the Apocrypha is in smaller font than the rest of the Bible. 8 pt is already small. Too bad, I really like the design and price.
I got my order today. It looks good. But I found the font size in all the books of the Apocrypha is 1-2 point size smaller. i.e. 6-7 pt. The 50 gsm paper doesn't look better than the paper with The Diadem. 😟 @@timwildsmith
I recently got a nkjv open bible andit has a layout of the apocrypha and explains which is fine for me, i have an underatanding even though it doesnt have the full written books of tobit, ecclesiasticus. And the rest
Hi, Tim. Fr. Ben Jefferies of the ACNA was a cover designer. He says the gsm is 40 and the type size is 9.25 for the Protestant canon. Are you sure the gsm is 50 and the type size is 8? I will take 40 or 50 gsm all day long! This is of no concern to me. My real concern is the font size. I would love to pick up a copy, however, if the type size is 8, the font is too small for my age.
