Jett took it easy in the first moto made sure his thumb was good so he didn't take himself out of the championship in the first moto . Then showed everyone the simple truth he the best on a bike right now . And the only reason chase won outdoors is because he was injured

Hate it for Carter! We all cheered like crazy when he hit that double. And I'm pretty sure Tomac always runs that paddle. He loves it and says it helps with his setup. But super happy he won and I got to watch it in person!

I was there. Carter sent that jump. A kid almost in last place sent it to last lap just for fun. The point of big jumps is to separate yourself from the pack. Carter did that. Stupid. He’s the champ!

The tire got him in moto two when the track went dry. Thats a win for Et3 thats all he needed. He almost got Jett back.

Jet's not in trouble, it was his first race back he took it easy in the first moto, then pushed a little more in the second moto he far of his top speed

That kid made a conscious decision to do that jump. He said his coach told him to do whatever was comfortable. Obviously, they had a discussion about it. Then in the TV interview he even said he thought it was safer to roll it than jump it.

Sexton didn’t look the same because Jett and Eli was back and he knew he wasn’t going to win . It’s hard to ride when you know you’re not going to win. RJ said he wanted some more Danger Zone but when he got it he didn’t know what to do with it. He ran out of talent pretty quick!

What tf is up with the kid being docked positions for jumping the finish. That is a complete joke. And why if they are so concerned with the kids jumping it, just make it a table. Every pro will just jump it anyways. They going to dock all the superminis when they jump the jumps?

FELD (spelling?) does next to nothing to protect the riders. In that no protection along the cement walls, no protection from concrete floors off the main track in Supercross, no protection from the asphalt floor off the main track in this race.

Tomac looked great! I think he will continue to improve battling with Jett if he can stay healthy

If the officials told everyone not to jump the double and someone did, then they have to enforce it. This is on the kid and anyone on his team who told him to go for it. Rules are rules. No exceptions.

I'm sure Carter knew he wasn't supposed to jump it but I'm betting him and his dad said fuck it. It's worth not officially winning to do it in front of everyone during the actual event especially if he was the only one look at all the tension I just want to get him and potential sponsors and help.

There's multiple kids in the class who would send that double. Seemed like there was a way gnarlier double than that one. Anyway, rules are rules, and they all knew them. His coach told him to hit it anyway if he wanted to. Bad coaching... giod on the ones who followed the rules.

Rock Springs??? Dude, back in the day, the Little Sin City. During the first half of the 80s i did a lot of oil field work out of that place. OH!, the memories. His championships, like it or not, have come when the top dogs get sidelined by injuries. Plain & simple!!! Jet is not my man, but he has a talent that might be the best we've ever seen. Tomac is my man. Yes, it is going to be great when Degan gets up to the premier class & challenges Jet, but he isn't going to be able to ride a big bike like he does a 250. It will thump him, he will get injured, his career will be short. So what does this old man in a cowboy hat know about motocross??? Back in the day, i raced against the likes of Howerton, Stackable, Morris Baker, Ricky Pilgrim. I've been an avid fan since 1970. I've watched them all come & go.

I heard carters trainer told carter if he thought he could do the jump to do it. This is after they told every rider not to do it. So he knew. Its still bs to take the win but his trainer is a pos for saying that. Bad trainer. There was another kid that did it but he was like 16th got docked 2 positions.

Tomac lurking? I dont think so. Maybe as much as Sexton is lurking. Even at comeback from injury pace once Jett wicks it up they are both toast. You can easily see when Jett goes from pacing along behind Tomac, and when he lights the afterburners and checks out. This first SMX race will have given Chase PTSD. Jett has beaten him SO many times, 1st time back Sexton isnt in the same time zone with Eli or Jett. A bummer.

Putting a red cross flag at the start/finish line to prevent the kids from jumping needed to much brain power and coordination from the AMA brain trust and with the flag guy at the start/finish line to implement, much easier just to penalize the little kids after the event.. Eli was looking pretty good even with that paddlel tire, but Jet is unbelievable. That kid is one in a generation for sure. Not sure about Sexton. I think that helmet is sick, I'm having my razor wrapped this week, and it is being wrapped in a dazzle camouflage (the way they painted WWI ships to try and to confuse the German U-boat Captains from torpedoing them) the same colors as that helmet.

Carter Gray is an absolute badass!! I think I have seen more about him than anyone else who raced on Saturday. I didn’t go back and watch any other race other than the 65’s because of Carter.

Jett gave Roczen a win, now he's given Tomac a win... It was out of respect he didn't pass him the first moto. End of story

Thank you for Carter grey comments!!! Those kids know what they can and cannot do. He only did it once. That was because he knew when and when not to go for it. If Eli actually wants it he has the skills and speed to do it. But he has to really want to step up. He has the mental strength to break Jett’s train of thought enough to become uncomfortable for a while. He won’t hold Jett off forever. But, just like Eli was when he was younger he will mature and become the assassin. I just hope Eli wants it for another full year.

Have to disagree the dumbest thing ever is leaving those white retaining walls exposed, RJ Hampshire almost got killed, they need to remove those or completely cover them with dirt not half a$$ it like they do all safety, and its way past time for the riders to have a rider's union like all other pro sports to protect them.

Jet is great people need to quit making excuses he wasn't taking it easy in the first moto he got a bad start and made it all the way up to second. The second Moto he started up there with Eli so just give them credit for passing Eli they're both coming back from injury don't make excuses for his first Moto Should give them credit for that even though Eli is not 100% because when he's been under pressure when he has made mistakes when he was trying to compete with Dylan Fernandis or Austin forkner, otherwise the only one to really pressure him is his brother & he feels comfortable around him & doesn't result in writing over his head

You didn't bring it up so I will look at our MXON picks did not do so well. Chase road great with a 4-3 3rd overall. AP crash 6-11 8th OA, so obviously he was in pain what was Hymas excuse 13-20 17th OA, did he get hurt training or in practice that I didn't see or hear of. Hopefully they do better in the next two rounds. But if they are injured who would replace them on such short notice We know Eli would probably step up Ill also point out Star Yamaha is supporting Max Anstie in MXON

Chase and Jett went off in the press conference over the amount of rounds they're expected to race, and hinted at a move towards unionization. Next week he's going to have an earwig in with a producer in his ear! Also, was Carter Gray the first person to win a race, on a pro track, on an American made motorcycle? The crowd was cheering on Carter Gray and i garuntee everyone watching it at home was cheering him on too. As moto riders especially young ones, we are told to hit everything you can as fast as you can. Now docking positions for being the best rider on the track!?!?! Thats the most un moto thing ive ever heard.

Doesn't matter for Carter. That kids all over social media now, that's a bigger way to make a name for yourself. More than likely another dad threw a big fit afterwards.

So the argument is that there were 2-3 others doing it as well. Him being the only one is false. So that gave him an advantage over the other couple that were doing it too. I was there Friday for practice as well as Saturday for the races, etc. he was ripping either way. But yeah he's not the only one. But is the only one that didn't listen to that rule.

Not only are they jumping as far in rhythm sections as triples, but after they hit a tuft block they are strait up the face of the next jump, so the ride is just beginning.

When youre racing for a podium with someone on your heels and ready to take your spot. You're going to do what you need to do to win the race even if it means jumping the double.

This is a case of idiots with too much power! To rob that kid of that inspiring win is disgraceful! Love this platform!

Why is the AMA trying to suck the excitement out of a sport they are supposedly trying to build and support? Why would they go against the obvious excitement the fans expressed with Carter Gray? Talk about sucking the air out of a small room. They get what they are trying to create.

Some things you got wrong in this video. Carter was not the only one jumping that jump in practice. Chase Brennen jumped it in practice as well and I believe 1-2 others did as well. Also we did know Carter was getting docked right away. James called it out on the broadcast

They should have black flagged him instead of letting him finish the race thinking he won.

The kid in 2nd knocked Carter greys lead down by almost 2 seconds a lap and would have got him on the last lap that’s why he jumped it in my opinion as he comes out the corner he looks back that’s when he went for it.

You are wrong, Carter was the fastest kid there, but he was not following the rules. Everyone else was following the rules and he had an advantage. Other kids could have jumped it, but they didnt as they were told not to. Come on man! People (even kids) need to be accountable. So if you are at a red light in the middle of the day, but you can run it and you will more than likely make it... should you? Or the road is a "one way" and you only need to go up 500 ft to a house.... do you go up the road in the wrong direction? More than likely you will make it and not cause any issues.. but society has rules unfortunately that we need to follow. The kid would have won anyway more than likely.... But the fact is, it was stated NOT TO JUMP, everyone else listened...

if you move the tuff blocks 10" wider, the track just gets 10" wider. cant you ever accept the fact that there are rules, stay on the track. if you follow the rules there is no issure. you just strike me as the guy to sue the city because the light post was to close to the street and you hit it.... to bad, i was a subscriber and like 95% of your content. but your woke...

Last week so many were talking about how Sexton has surpassed Jett. Then the races happen and there are more excuses, just like before “it’s his suspension” “if he didn’t make that one mistake”, etc, etc. super impressed by Eli, he even smoked Sexton

pretty sure it was the kid who came in seconds dad complaining to the ama about it. he was on instagram trying to defend the decision. It reminds me when i was on 50s and arena cross didn’t want us to jump the catapult double, but greco and a couple others still hit it in the race.

At minimum 5 kids in that class could jump that finish line double… that’s coming from THE MOM OF THE KID THAT FINISHED SECOND on a post on instagram she also claimed he would have caught and beat Carter had he not jumped it the one time. (Except the next two laps show different to us that aren’t the kids parent) in the same post and to her Bobby Piazza basically said that “win” or “loss” doesn’t matter because anyone that matters in the Motoworld knows Carter’s name and is watching him! Hell he’s got more media coverage than the pros from Saturday right now; we have the original punks of Moto coming in here showing notice in Motoxxx…

Carter won, but rules are rules this is a rough learning experience but even if there was a flag there & he jumped people would still be complaining. Like I believe you were one of the ones complaining about people being docked for jumping on the Red Cross flag on a SX finish line jump because the I think it was Vince wasn't actually on the track (Can't remember if it was you &/or Hopper)

Okay so they made the rule before the race and they all knew about it. Did Carter do it every lap, or just on the last lap? If he didnt do it every lap and just decided to do on the last lap, that tells me he knew about the rule and said screw it, im sending it and it is on him.

I’ve mentioned this in previous videos and you did touch on it today, the riders and teams have the power and here’s the issue of the riders and teams are not concerned with the placement of the tuff blocks and say something after track walk or practice nothing will change. So do we or mx sports feel if the riders and teams are not complaining everything must be ok and if someone gets hurt do we blame mx sports? maybe but if rides and teams did not ask for these changes whos at fault?? If gray was told not to jump he got what he deserved because if the ama did not follow through then we would be bitching about that. You buddy in rock springs got what he deserved he shouldn’t be Smokin dope and racing anyway that could get other riders hurt and he chose not to go to riders meeting, shows lack of respect to the rules and other riders.

Yeah I am seriously about to quit supporting this sport. Motocross/Supercross is all about who has the most skills and biggest balls and yet they want to penalize you for being good at your craft...next will be participation awards.

Wow, Steve Leidberg… I haven’t heard that name in a long time. I used to race in that era in Utah. Ran the gold series. Mostly a desert racer but did the motos for the points. I remember the Rock Springs track. Cool place.
