Yeah! Kyle is great haha. He’s not really my coach, just a friend that’s really good at badminton haha. He’s a doubles player so don’t pay too much attention to his singles haha
Seems that you are slicing the shuttle. Through the range of motion you are making contact with the shuttle the racquet head angle changes too much. It might be that you that you want to keep your thumb in a fixed position. Just let that thought go. Consider the range of positions you will contact the shuttle, and rotate the head to be consistent through that range, so slight miss timings won’t have you hitting different angles. For example if you are hitting the shuttle behind you, and if you change your grip slightly to more pan handled (thumb position not on the long flat) your shot quality and consistency could improve a lot. To develop more strength and better timing do reverse hand towel flicks and try to get the “crack” sound. If you’re reaching very high, you would probably be better to play an over the head shot. Backhands tend to rob you of watching your opponent while you play the shot.
clear doesn't really make a difference between boy and girl, because the power needed is not too much. But for smash, there is a huge difference between boy and girl and you should learn from a boy because he can teach you how to jump smash
