i like how you start the FH, BH from the contact point - without worrying much about ready position, swing path. quick natural way to start a fundamental swing. would wall hitting be a good way to start a beginner, since they can many hits per minute in?
I did this today and I played a game that I actually played well in. I'm still making some mistakes, I'm inconsistent with hitting it straight ahead. I hit it but it does go in an angle to the corners on the court where it's close to being out. Are there drills I can do to hit the ball perfectly straight?
THIS is a coach. Explaining the technic first, being patient and correcting your mistakes, not getting angry cause you don't already know how to swing or hold the racket and telling you that you shouldn't play tennis at all. I felt so bad after those words, but this guy right here is inspiring
That's is not a coach, that is just a person who knows tennis but doesn't know how to teach... don't bother with that. Find a new one and continue to practice. The problem is not you
What's up bro I've done something EXACTLY like this on my channel and have also had AMAZING results, even better, especially with the backhand - if you go check it out, you're mind is actually going to be blown! I'd really appreciate it - near perfect form in just one lesson!
We have to be so grateful of you saying that about other person, coz youtube is so full of stupid ppl criticizing everything and everybody making videos. Even when they don't know anything about what they're criticizing.
I have played tennis for 40+ years. This is a spectacular instructional video. Even the little things like picking up a racquet off the ground is the proper forehand grip. Something I forgot until I saw this video (even though I still have a proper grip but I forgot about this simple lesson). That is exactly what my coach taught me decades ago. This guy is amazing and I am thankful for this video since I am now teaching my daughter how to play. It's the simple teaching techniques that make all the difference. Thanks to a million to "Intuitive Tennis"!!!
I just started learning Tennis.. 2 weeks in. This is one of the best coaching lessons I have seen. Kudos to the instructor. And the way the video has been made - starting from nothing and then picking up the basics.. well done.

@Billie Eilish Edits yes it does! You'd be surprised if how well it helped me. I'm more comprehensive and understanding of the game now. I also have ALOT less questions after watching this video. 😁😅
I am a beginner tennis player, i watched this video once and my form got better almost instantly! You teach so directly and get straight to the point. Will be subscribing ♥️

She’s going to be 4.5 in no time with this coach’s awsome teachings. Foundation is so important. I’ve had a bad technique for years and it has been very hard to fix my forehand but now I’m getting there.

i've just had the sudden random urge to learn tennis. i feel like i'm going through different hobbies and i want to try so many things, thank you for this lesson, it was very helpful :>
I have always believed that the coach and beginner need to be side by side on same side of net . So many coaches and there are so many really bad ones don't get it that the beginner pupil struggles with reversing the instruction and implementing it simultaneously from the far opposite side . this is a brilliant coaching session
Starting tennis from zero, is very difficult. I think this is one of the biggest barrier to bring more people into enjoying tennis and making it their hobby. This video is really good, because by watching it I begin to believe that there is a 'fast' way of making beginner know how to play. Well not in the full scale of tennis match obviously, but at least to start hitting balls continuously. And hopefully tennis will be even a bigger sport in the future. Especially, where I live I am looking forward to see more people play tennis.
People don't realize how difficult it is to teach beginners especially when they make slow progress. Hard job. I had that pleasure to teach my son from age 7 -10 . A lot of respect coach 😁

iam 72 years old and been playing tennis on and off since 16 years old.i regret that I have never had any coaching lessons. I can play, but play wrongfully. nick, you are a wonderful coach. I wish you were my coach then. congratulations, keep up the good work. I have watc
I just started to learn tennis..we only have a experience player teaching me but not a coach like.his ok but not coach type.Good thing I found your video. This is very helpfulllll❤❤❤❤ thank you for detailed beginner training video❤❤❤
I hardly post comments on RU-vid. I am in my mid 30s and never played tennis before. I find your teaching/ Coaching methods so simple that I feel more comfortable and confident that I can learn it faster as I have started playing since last 2 months and without a coach. Keep up the good work Coach.
Because she adjusted right away to what he was saying and you see an improvement it's actually really helpful. No footwork yet, just contact points and follow thru. Great video dude!
Took tennis in college and 20 years later, taking it up again. Loving these videos. Taking the rust off and fixing bad habits i had. Also teaching gf. Thank you sir. And this student is very quick learner and beautiful.
I actually had my very first tennis lesson last night, and this video was SUPER helpful. Thank you so much for creating free quality content! (And it was comforting to see the stuff I struggle with isn't just stuff I struggle with)!
Ms machine, whatever you do, don't quit playing tennis! It is one of the greatest, most personally satisfying as well as psychologically satisfying pastimes, hobbies, sports in which a human being can participate. You'll develop friendships and regular outings in the morning or evening. And you can play the sport for life.
I am 36 and my best friend is an older guy who plays tennis fairly well. He says he will not play me because I am no good but we do not know how good I am since I do not play much. I am a very good ping pong player and I beat him at that fairly easily after not playing for years. This video is giving my the tools I need. I will use this information to wreck Justin. Thank you.
This is amazing. I learned tennis as a kid in the early 90s. My awesome coach also coached Wally Masur when he was a kid. Now my wife wants me to teach her tennis but I have no clue how my coach stepped me through the basics and she refuses to "embarrass" herself with an actual coach. So I came to RU-vid hoping for some help with my first ever "coaching" gig. This is absolutely perfect. An amazing gift. Thank you.
This is truly unbelievably good. Wow, Anna has incredible natural athleticism, hand-eye coordination and body control. Most beginners I see spazz out when a live ball comes to them from across the net, but she handled the pace with such calm and control. Amazing! Well done, Anna!
What's up bro I've done something EXACTLY like this on my channel and have also had AMAZING results, even better, especially with the backhand - if you go check it out, you're mind is actually going to be blown - and both of these guys have no natural talent, athleticism, or coordination WHATSOEVER!
I wish I had a coach like him too. He is so supportive and patient. I feel like I learnt a lot about the grip concept and posture. Can't wait to get to the court to check how much I learnt 😬✨
It's been hard to find this low level stuff on RU-vid. Greatly appreciated!!! I just picked up a racket and started playing with no lessons. This is great!

I've started playing tennis half a year ago and it took me a few months to reach Anna's skill level after her first lesson. I loved the way you explained things. Great video! Subscribing

Ok I’m back! Had a lesson with my coach today and he was so pleased with my forehand and one handed back hand today!!! I felt so much more confident! Thank you so much!!
@@Feathers_and_rivers hi! I started off taking lessons once a week (on mondays) for a few months then moved up to twice a week. It’s been well worth it! Good luck at your lessons!

I’ve never played before but it looks so fun. Gonna get a racquet for my son and I so we can play. I’m 41 but it’s never to late to learn! I’m addicted to watching all the matches in the tennis channel!! Thank you for this video. I’m definitely subscribing!! 🎾

My wife just started playing tennis and she has been playing for a little over a week and she is a natural athlete and can play some basketball. I have been hitting with her and doing drills like this with her, and she is so excited about tennis, she texts me and says to me, hun are we going to play tennis tonight after work, and she actually motivates me from her new experiences in tennis. She has a natural one handed slice that paints the lines. I find when teaching others complaints go along way. This was a excellent video my friend. Thank you
Today was my first day of learning lawn tennis and the video seems a recap of what I learnt in the morning!! Just a difference- my coach ordered ‘please collect the balls’ at the end! 😅❤
@Alien_ee I’m just going to my park and having a friend drop the ball for me and take the videos as support 😅, trust me idk but I’ll work it out and just buy a cheap one to start, starting training when the snow melts 🙃
Only sport I can watch and keep track of tourneys! Tennis is my favorite sport. Started watching it with a friend who taught me how to score. Ngl, watched for the eye candy, stayed for the sport all these years in the end.
She's probably already an expirenced player acting like a begineer. The video wouldn't look so good if she were a typical begineer spraying balls everywhere.
I am beginning my tennis lessons tomorrow, and this video has helped me feel less nervous about it. This coach does such a nice job of explaining things and modeling what he is saying.
Great Videos! For those of us who don't go for classes this great. Wih the in depth information and also pointing out the mistakes and telling even the small details and doubts. I've seen people who can't finish their swing, who use their wrist instead of their shoulder. This video can help them.
Inspirational video for someone like myself who's returning to tennis in my retirement. I've taught people to fly and Nikola employs the same building block instructional methodologies. That in combination with Anna's natural athletic abilities makes these lessons so entertaining and motivational!
This is a very good coach combined with a very good student, excellent development, the strokes are looking natural already, not weird at all which is something rare to see on a begginer player.
I hardly ever comment but this is indeed a great lesson! Most coaches have a hard time being clear and concise when teaching mechanics and sometimes showing and doing isn't as simple as it sounds with beginners. In response to some of the comments regarding her potential and personality, yes, she is very easy to work with and very responsive to his teaching. I loved how she started catching the racquet over her left shoulder after forehands later on in the video. She wasn't using her left shoulder when working on her contact point+ft+closing, but as soon as he started feeding from the other side of the court she instinctively started catching the racquet. Same way as she naturally pulled the racquet back when working on her contact point when he drop fed. Again, wonderful video!

I've been trying to start teaching my gf tennis and this video helps me explain things much better to her as far as technique since many of my moves are just automatic now its hard for me to explain it. I'm so excited for our next lesson!!!
im gonna teach my GF playing tennis, & this video gives me the perfect points to learn/watch/correct/adapt so she can have a good first experience ! THANKS ALOT
I started a beginner lesson in March and I'm loving it, don't feel shy or afraid because you have never play before. Enjoy learning and interacting with others.
Amazing! That's how simple but perfect instructions can make a noobi start efficiently hitting the ball just in 10 min! I am really impressed! Well done!
Fantastic. This is solid beginner teaching. I wish I had learned this way years ago. So simple and solid basics to build on. Now I know what to do when I start getting sloppy, not finishing the stroke, or worrying excessively on how to do my backswing (which FYI, the ball could care less on how I brought my racquet back. It only cares about how I brought it through the impact zone and the speed at which I went through, showed by my stroke finish). Excellent video!
What's up bro I've done something EXACTLY like this on my channel and have also had AMAZING results, even better, especially with the backhand - if you go check it out, you're mind is actually going to be blown - two completely unathletic, uncoordinated, no talent regular people picking up the forehand and backhand INSTANTLY! Super stoked

I originally play badminton for 15 years and today I got invited to a tennis training for beginners and I'm really loving the sport. Clearly there are some badminton techniques that I need to shut off while playing this sport but there are also some badminton techniques that somehow gave me a jumpstart. I'm looking forward to learning more and this video is very clear, now I'm excited to try again 😊
This is awesome! I played in highschool and playing is a lot different than teaching. I've been so flustered when teaching my wife because I have no words, to me it was kind of like, "do this and that." But this. This is SO clear. Put words to what i wanted to say, THANK YOU!
This video is fantastic thank you so much, I have played since I was 9 and I am 20 now. I am very in tune with body mechanics and what makes something efficient and also ergonomic. I have no problem giving my fellow players technique tips, but I had no idea how to start teaching my mom. Thank you so much! Hope I can repay her for all the practices she took me to haha
Wow, I have played for many years, took lessons as a kid and now trying to teach my 10 yr old daughter to play. THIS WAS A LESSON! If you could call it that. It was more like magic. To watch how to hold the racket correctly, broken down step by step, for forehand and backhand, and to watch all of the components of a serve in a matter of minutes, Wow!!! I am excited to show my daughter everything I just learned and to watch all of the videos!! You sir, are a coaching genius!
I literally just subscribed for $100 a year to an online tennis library. Unfortunately didn't research enough of their content. They have hundreds of videos, but lack organization and consistency. I've learned more about teaching new-comers in this one video than I did in my subscription. Please, please keep coming out with these types of videos...awesome job!

I'm just starting to play tennis with my more experienced friends...and this is helping out so much. A lot of what Anna was doing...is basically at my level xD I get too over excited when hitting and my swings are all over the place. Sometimes, I make good serves/swings, and some you're like "what happened?? xD". Very good teaching techniques, I need a teacher likes this ;A;
She is already athletic.. this coach is amazing. The ability to bring out the best in a athlete is a great skill. She will be on a women’s 3.5 team in no time if she keeps this up. Then when she falls in love with the game don’t see why she won’t be a solid 4.0 player
What's up bro I've done something EXACTLY like this on my channel and have also had AMAZING results, even better, especially with the backhand - if you go check it out, you're mind is actually going to be blown! as a tennis coach, i found this good, also the girl said it sounds good, that was good, and what i liked, he didnt go over board with how to hit the ball , keep it very simple, they say kids can only take in so much at a time, and she enjoyed the lesson, well done , stephen sellick
I took lessons last year, no one told me about grips. I think I was using the backhand grip all the time. Maybe I did subconsciously change grip for each stroke, but honestly I have no idea what I did. This is such a good coach. Explaining the mechanics in the body and why it's important to do it. I hate it when a coach doesn't say these details, because you can build a wrong technique and then muscle memory is a bitch to relearn. And that's exactly what happened with my previous coach.
Good lesson! She is a natural. I gotta show the serve lesson to my wife. She is kinda frustrated with the continental grip for the serve, that is why she is using the forehand grip which the instructor recommended to prevent frustration.

Thank you. I recently started practicing and the proper forehand grip was not taught that way where you pick up the racket from the floor! Thanks for this training ❤️
Teaching someone who is relatively new to tennis is not an easy feat. You do it well, Nick! It always helps when your student has natural ability of good hand eye coordination, good core strength and a ton of resolve to get it correct. Sometimes you will encounter the opposite end where they have no coordination, no sense of what their body is supposed to do and has attention deficit disorder. Those kids/people can drive you nuts! I respect what you shared and how you instructed her to keep it simple and progressive. Great way to build her foundation and confidence in continuing to want to improve more. Bravo to your success! As a teacher and in growing your channel. Don
