I love how these Light and Darkness dragons are coming out while I'm watching the GX manga. Fun fact the author didn't expect the two half's of Light and Darkness dragons to be syncrons, which aren't a thing in GX. He wasn't happy.

Fun fact Chazz actually played lad in GX. In the manga atleast as his ace. In the manga he tried to prove himself that he should be in duel academy because he was good and that is wasn’t just his parents who got him in. (Due to them being rich) he also played the two halves but not as synchros obviously.

The "lore" for this card archetype is LADD was Chazz' ace monster in the GX manga. It was a card spirit like Winged Kuriboh or the Ojamas. It was also one half of Ma'at and represented the feather used to weigh souls and judge the dead. The manga author was actually very disappointed with Light End and Dark End Dragon being made into synchro monsters as they were main deck cards in the Manga. He must be pretty happy with this new support.

Light and Darkness Dragon is the fairer Apollousa, because it is much harder to summon.

I have a great story about how I got my light and darkness dragon. So about 14 years ago I was at a card shop with a friend we had to catch our bus back and it was about to leave my buddy makes it across to the bus but when I attempt to cross I get hit by a car that came out from behind the bus and sent my flying into the front end of another car I end up with a broken leg and in the hospital one day my friend who was with me brought a card with him from the shop owner and said it was a get well card I opened it up and a ray of sunlight bathes my new light and darkness dragon I shed a few tears and then told him to let the shop owner know that I'll be back at the shop as soon as I can walk again. Sadly by the time I had recovered enough to get out there the shop was now a real estate agency. R.IP C.C.G'S you were my favorite card shop and tournament spot.

Here i am to shoot facts about this It have been a while since i did that here squidy xD Look In the manga, Manjoume (chazz) used a Dragon deck (no ojamas no XYZ ) just dragons The main dragons were Light and Dark End dragons as well as their fusion BUT those monster came as Synchro to the OCG/TCG And now we finally got a main deck version that is more accurate to the manga OG versions Extra fact They also released a burning dragon that was also only manga back in day Extra extra fact The original japanese voice actor that played as Manjoume passed away a couple of weeks ago RIP

Finaly both dragons are effect monsters. I've never understood, why they were printed as synchro monsters.

Chazz have light end and dark end as main deck monsters in the manga ironically makes the retrains more true to form than the synchro ones

The original synchro cards were retrains actually, in the manga they were effect monsters but the GX manga came out around the time they were trying to come up with new synchro monsters, and so they were made into synchros, you couldn't even play chazz's original light and darkness dragon deck because he didn't run tunners

The End Dragons should never have been Synchros in the first place. It was beyond stupid.

Remember kids the synchro variant of light and dark end dragons is from 5ds 1st season for those who are interested. Dark End was part of the Archfiend archetype with Thousand Eyes Dragon for those who want to know

The Yu-Gi-Oh GX manga is a must.

But when are we getting a working Bastion chemistry deck??

I'm fine with people forgetting about LADD. Easier to close out games that way.

Dark end dragon was the only one i saw in real life, some of the other one in the videogames

I love how in the first appearance that Light end dragon and dark end dragon were main deck monsters but in the official release they are actually synchros

Yesssss! I use to drop this sucker using totem dragon and when it would blow up I’d get my red eyes darkness metal dragon back and then bring back a blue eyes or another totem to drop yet another light and darkness dragon. Good times 😢

In the manga Light End Dragon, Dark End Dragon, and Light Snd Darkness End Dragon were Chazz’s ace cards in the GX manga

LaD dragon is great for edison format because its one of few omni-negates in the format. Its basically main deck Apollusa.

It would be dope if it was “choose a light or dark dragon on your side of the field to loose 1000atk”

Dark end dragon was my ace monster back during the 5Ds era, I got it from an issue of Shonen jump and thought it was the coolest synchro monster at the time, I still have it to this day in my card box

Man such memories. These were some of my favorite dragons, and the gx manga was SO good.

Of course I run into light and darkness dragon.... Like 15 years ago which was the last time I've seen anybody actually use the dang card

Dark End Dragon should have absolutely been an Xyz summon. I don’t know how badly that would affect its viability/summon cost/etc. But it would contrast very well with the Light End Dragon’s white Synchro frame.

I wouldnt say completely forgotten about, light and darkness dragon was real famous back in the day

Oh yeah this card was super cool. I didn’t understand why they were synchro cards though.

the reason we even got these retrains was due to Konami changing these cards from being Main Deck monsters to Synchro monsters during release. Light end and Dark End were never originally synchro monsters and even one of the staff for the GX manga was sad he couldn't make a deck around them because they were synchros

Pretty good on Chaos Dragon (I have a pretty funny deck that mix them with XYZ, also)

Let me get this right. We're getting new Blue-Eyes AND new Chaos Dragon support the same year where I got access to money again, all while my main decks are Red-Eyes/Blue-Eyes Chaos Dragons. Am I coming back?

Interesting that Light End can use both effects but for Dark End you can only use one effect per turn.

Light and Darkness Dragon has always been one of my favorite cards, I am glad it gets some upgrades!

Goes well with a chaos deck with light and dark monsters. Pairs better with BLS envoy

You could reset light and darkness dragons attack after using its effect 4 times using Forbidden Lance on it since it's negation is only doe a turn

Trust me, *nobody* who was around for the LADD days forgot about it lol.

I took a look at light and darkness dragon lord thinking it looked so much cooler than original light and darkness dragon, but reading it's effects I can't tell if it's either worse or just basically the same card as the original. Sure it doesn't blow up everything you own on destruction and is marginally stronger, but it also comes with less negates (it's not even optional, it keeps the required negates of the original and doesn't even limit it to your opponent's cards like the og), gets weeker faster (2 negates puts you at 1400 atk as opposed to the ogs 1800 atk), and you can only revive dragons (which I get is to bring back the fusion materials, but still)

But light and darkness dragon eas not "made of" two synchro monster that obviously didn't exist at the time L&D Dragon was created... Also it kindnof a hilarious interaction with spirit monsters since it is a mandatory effect, and eill continue to negate until it doesn't have enough ATK and spirit monsters dont say "once per turn return this to the hand" so basically L&D negates the spirit returning to the hand at the end phase, so, its still the end phase, the spirit monster just keeps trying until L&D doesn't have enough ATK to stop it

Brooo I have a pare of shonen jump limited edition its my fave cause I equipped it with two mage power to make actually tuff.

These cards couldve been decent, but they made sure to cripple the fusion so that you cant just splash it into a meta deck because nobody wants another dragoon package

This should be a dual type both light and dark

Soo they made 2 8☆ dragons with 2600 atk and good effects completely free. Special summon by banishing a card from extra deck is a no cost. Soo free special summon 2600 atk is where the power creep is at right now damn.

Those ain't halves of LADD but those monsters are all own by Chazz manga version

This card (the original lnd dragon) was my favorite, but the effect uses the word “when” so the negate is mandatory regardless of who is using any card effect, this is just a stupid effect in modern yugioh
