I just got Surfshark the other day and I am GD MFKING proud, in the US here, in the US Reddit is "blocked" but in any other COUNTRY it is FUCKING not. THis is not a thing of regular crap, I have seen sites "blocked" only for a week or two later to be able to access them, that Texas lockdown of that "One site" or "several" based on their laws blocking EVERYONE, yeah no fucking more! With SurfShark VPN, it's cheaper than the rest but reliable AS ass hells! No I did not get the deal on the thingy adverted, but 2 bucks a month or a bit more is TOTALLLY worth it no matter what.

I literally haven’t heard it, but that idea is too absurd to be true. My guess is that they just didn’t want to cause a legal problem by defining something wrong.
@@jimcobbler3954 Chevron allowed for unqualified and barely educated bureaucrats to dictate and govern over industries they hardly understood. For example, the agricultural department would tell farmers what they can plant, how much, and if and with what they can fertilize the plants with. If the farmers ignored these bureaucrats who have never farmed a day in their lives then they would have broken the law and possibly go to jail. When the farmers would contest that no where does it say that the bureaucrats get to govern the farmers actions the bureaucrats would say the law gives them the broad powers and Chevron says that they get to determine the minutiae, meaning they in fact can tell you how fat you pig gets to be or how skinny your chicken has to be. This was true for every industry.
@@hilkmeister1382 You could literally ask any 10 year old to define a firearm. Bureaucrats are unbelivably stupid sometimes, but being mentally unable to define something that is the entire point of their job is ridiculous. Not wanting to define it to avoid legal trouble from a position of authority (people arguing that a firearm actually isn't one or vice versa because you defined it wrong) is pretty much the only reasonable explanation to something like this. The chevron thing makes sense if it was a scientific thing that the farmers signed a contract to be in. Experiments like this rely on extremely precise conditions, and as long as those conditions were included in the pay and contract, the farmers would be in the wrong for breaking the agreement. I don't know the whole story here though.
To be fair and balanced it's likely they want to cover their ass to try and make a definition which covers weapons from now and into the future, so it's advantageous to not give a specific definition.
the amount of infrastructure that can go down over the lack of internet even in a local area is astonishing. hospitals were brought to a standstill and their tech is reliably old. why aren't more things backed up with outdated tech that can still always exist in its own closed netword? genuinely curious
I have some knowledge in this area and the incident, the issue was not that data was lost but the computer's were turned into bricks. It was basically like they were locked out, not that the data was destroyed. So their backup was to physical (analog) systems like pen and paper, which they did use. The reason more stuff isn't on outdated tech is because that is vulnerable to attackers who can destroy it, and not on its own closed network because that is expensive, it would be like owning two houses in case your first house burned down. What people are likely going to start doing is implementing a sandbox environment where these changes are tested first on a model system to ensure they don't burn everything down (which is already common, but not for vendor updates like this).
@pagjimaagjinen9733 I'm sure it is, but from a general sense, from what I know from people I know and the news, general happiness and ease of just being alive is getting shittier, and the news definitely isn't helping by showing all the chaos and insane decisions by people in charge

24:25 This loading screen is from Star Wars Battlefront (from 2004). The map is called Kashyyyk Islands. In the story campaign for the game, this map is used to depict a post Phantom Menace event where Darth Sidious orders the Trade Federation to commit genocide against an entire Wookie fishing village for the purposes of 1. Ensuring a Trade Federation monopoly 2. Testing the new Baktoid Combat Automata B2-Series super battle droids 3. A test of loyalty and skill for Sidious' new apprentice, Darth Tyranus, AKA Count Dooku. Nute Gunray post The Phantom Menace was convicted on countless charges and imprisoned. With the Trade Federation's CEO incapable of making business decisions, their de facto CEO became Lord Sidious, who was probably the highest share holder of the company. Thus... he was de facto president... of the company. According to the Supreme Court's decision on presidential immunity, the president of the United States has even more authority than Lord Sidious as head of the Trade Federation. He could order the genocide of an entire Wookie village and NOT be indicted for it! Sidious at least had to hide the evidence!
are we going to ignore the fact that a certain president whom took office in 2009 completely erased a village from the face of the earth with drones, taking the lives of innocents from both that country AND ours... and not only got away with it but had it very quickly buried? so this "immunity" thing, it never stopped anyone from going crazy on some "wookies", it's putting an end to the barrage of nonsense one side forces onto the other to keep them from campaigning

I actually trust you guys to explain the Supreme Court stuff because everything I have heard from everyone else is purely “You are going to be directly in danger because of this.” so thanks for explaining it.
Well, I mean giving dictator powers to the president is pretty directly dangerous to the common voter. Along with potentially giving that power to someone who has said "Vote for me, and you won't have to vote again." I generally think 99% of people stand to lose living under a dictator.
@@alagonthesnailwith the amount of checks and balances still in place, anyone who thinks the US could turn into a dictatorship overnight is purposely disingenuous with how they view Supreme Court decisions.
@@alagonthesnail So was I and the rest of the nation hallucinating when previous presidents declared/waged wars (Korea to war on terror) and assassinated US citizens without trail (see assassination of 16 year old Abdulrahman al-Awlaki)? Presidents have done far worse than what Trump was charged with and they were never even looked at for impeachment let alone criminal charges.
I mean bro objectively the SCOTUS ruling is terrible, it cannot be spun any other way and frankly I think most people simply won't follow the ruling. Americans are NOT forced to follow any SCOTUS ruling, only expected to. It's generally expected that you will be punished for not following the SCOTUS, yet it is NOT explicitly guaranteed. Open defiance of the law is a very American trait, just look at the drug war & civil rights movement. The law doesn't change until someone gambles.

So, fun things about the French snap elections: From the centrist to the far-right, they all made fun of the various left parties for not being able to agree on anything. Then promptly shat themselves when the left unified itself within 24 hours of the president dissolving the National Assembly. The leader of the "regular" right (E. Ciotti) decided on an aliance with the far right... by himself. Leading to the majority of its party to abandon ship after they unsuccessfully tried to oust him. Witnesses said he was even slapped by another prominent party member (the entire story would be hilarious if it wasnt a problem). The far right's strategy is to put candidates in every regions, with "presentable" ones in "winnable" regions. However the other regions' candidates were basically whoever they had on hand, from legally ineligible to actual hostage taker. More than 120 of those candidates had some kind of criminal record. The far-far-right's (yes that's a thing) second-in-command (who is the niece of the far right's leader) had to leave her party because its leader did not want to ally himself with the far-right. In retaliation she squandered their funds. One of the Left's elected members is "Fiché S": Meaning French Intelligence considers him a potential threat (He's the spokeperson of an antifascist group). The man who first called for the creation of the New Popular Front (F. Ruffin) was eventually ousted from his party due to a disagreement with the leader. The centrists and left did not really ally themselves: After the first round, the Left did decide on the strategy of forfeiting any regions were the far-right got first and they came 3rd to let the one in 2nd place win. The centrists however thought it'be wise to cherry pick who in the left coalition is "republican" enough to deserve help. After they won a relative majority, it took two weeks for the left to decide who would be the prime minister, to which the president said "Nah, Olympics go Brrr".
@@noahsylvester1754 Every party happens to be on a spectrum of stupid to evil. Since the far right is unanimously recognised as objectively evil, that would make the left objectively stupid (which they are, albeit they have their flashs of brightness). The centrists fittingly represents the middle ground: They alternate between stupid and evil (albeit some also have their flashs of reason).
The summary of the french election was good, but i feel like i have to correct a few things. There was no alliance between the new popular front and macron's party, they just agreed on withdrawing some candidates, and even then there were a lot more withdrawals from the NFP than from macron's party. I don't think the left wing coalition would like any kind of alliance with them, because they're almost as disliked as the national rally by their voter base. Also about the reforms, it's unlikely that they would ever be passed since the majority the NFP has isn't an absolute one. Macron stated before the start of the olympics that since they were a coalition, they didn't really won the election and so he wouldn't appoint a prime minister from their ranks. So yeah, no alliance there.
God damnit!! TMC was not a sniper! He had a standard AR with a red dot, shooting at a target that was 150 yd away, and missed. Hitting a target at 150 yd is a basic requirement for everyone who serves in the US military, in the Marines you are required to hit targets at 500 yd.
it doesn't change the fact that he was 'sniping', meaning shooting from a somewhat-obscured vantage point and taking shots at a target from a considerable distance. Any video game character doing the same would be considered a sniper
@@TheAechBomb bro that would make every infantryman a sniper. So I'm going with what the Marines taught me. And 150 yds is a pretty short distance, for an AR, or any rifle.
