EMERGENCY. Lol ok so I asked The Ordinary if they could provide more clarification on what you shouldn't use with their Copper Peptides serum & the answer was backwards from what I have heard so many say! Because of this (& a couple other things), I am going to be shifting around my skincare routines and post an update ASAP (it's first on my list of videos to film next week). So if you watched the AM + PM skincare routines I just posted... pause on implementing any of it until I can give you guys that update! I simply cannot sleep at night thinking you'll potentially not get the best results because of me lol. Updates to come very soon!
Neck - As someone almost twice your age, I wish I had started using my face products on my neck also decades ago. Younger face and older neck is what I'm getting for that oversite. Just a friendly FYI. Take care of your neck with similar products.
@@KHC2023 I think her answer is spot on for the comment I made. I'm delighted I even got an answer give the number of comments she received. Be careful relying on others; be sure to take responsibility yourself also.
The Cerave pm moisturizer, Ordinary copper peptides and Cozrx 🐌 eye cream are all products you recommend months ago and ive been using consistently in my routine. I also use the peach slices snail mucin blemish toner. And i will say i have the best skin of my life right now. Never have i ever received actual compliments on how glowy and smooth my skin looks. Im 35 and its a first for me! So thank you Abbey!
Another HUGE thing is i completely stopped PICKING at my blemishes. And use pimple patches now. That was causing major hyperpigmentation on my face and its almost gone now after months of stopping and treating
Abbey is one of the influencers I really trust when it comes to skincare and hair care because she does research. Your skin looks amazing! I started copper peptides because of you and my skin loves it.
Ok lash serum is back out of my routine thanks for letting me know y’all 😂 Also RE: Salicylic Acid + Copper Peptides. I actually have a screenshot of The Ordinary's original guidance from my first Copper Peptides video. It said: "Some of the formulations [of their arsenal of products] are more susceptible to hydrolysis with certain types of Vitamin C or Acids." Because of this, they advised against the use of this product with Vitamin C or "strong antioxidants." I heard mixed thoughts on this so I decided to try it out and didn't see any of the positive results of the copper peptides go away. Now I see they have actually updated this guidance on the product page and explicitly list ingredients you should not use Copper Peptides with... Let me see if I can get any info from the brand directly on this!
I don’t think there’s any harmful reaction using peptides with acids, I just think their their efficacy is diminished by breaking down the peptide chain. I normally use lactic acid and vitamin C serums in the morning but I love The Ordinary copper peptide serum also so I just use it alone on some days and give my skin a break from acids. They say skin cycling/rotating products is good so I’m going with that. 🤷🏼♀️
Hi Abbey! I just wanted to let you and your viewers know that I just ordered the K18 hair mask from Sam's. I got 5oz delivered for less than the usual 1.5oz. GREAT DEAL!
Hi Abbey, just a note about RapidBrow and RapidLash- they do, like many lash and brow serums, use prostaglandin analogues that can do a hell of a lot of damage to your eyes and the skin around them. Hollowing and fat loss around the eyes, hyperpigmentation of the skin around the eyes, severe eye irritation, and so much more. And as someone with chronic dry eye from autoimmune disease, it’s actually very serious and not a small deal; you really don’t want to risk it. Imagine permanently losing your ability to wear contact lenses and eye makeup, being in egregious discomfort all the time, needing to get tear duct plugs every two months, etc. I know you didn’t think you were minimizing a serious health issue that lots of people (and I’d imagine a number of your viewers) have to live with, but it definitely came across that way. Having your health is a privilege and people only feel like they can afford to gamble with it until it’s gone.
Ohhhh wow I don’t know why I thought rapid lash was one of the ones that didn’t use the same kind of ingredients- I can’t remember where I heard that but I never researched it so thanks for letting us know! I would never try to minimize a health condition so I apologize that it came across that way. I had absolutely no idea those were side effects of dry eye from lash serums! That sounds horrible and I’m so sorry you have to deal with that ❤ back out of my routine 😂
Yes!! I was gonna tell u that too. Check Dr dray and all the other derms around RU-vid. I use the ordinary lash brow serum. It’s gentle and obviously results will vary
@@AbbeyYung thanks for being receptive to the feedback, Abbey! To be clear the side effects from prostaglandin analogues in lash serums include chronic dry eye (it’s just one of many side effects), and the side effects of chronic dry eye are going to be essentially the same regardless of the root cause once chronic dry eye is presence. Even though my chronic dry eye is from autoimmune disease, and someone who ends up with that as a permanent side effect from using a prostaglandin analogue-containing lash serum will experience virtually the same symptoms of dry eye disease that someone like me does. Just wanted to be super clear. I have tons of respect for you and love your channel 👍🏻💜
Love your routine! but I know my lazy self could never keep up this complex of a routine lol. Would love a video on recommendations for those that want to keep a simple morning skincare routine(like 3-4 products)
Yes I believe that you're not supposed to use direct acids or vitamin c in the same routine because it destabilizes the peptides and makes them less effective.
@@Anonymous4444 I wonder though if the very small amount of lactic acid she’s using would have that much of an effect on it. It was only 3%. Maybe she will address that in a future video
I’ve been using the SkinSmart mist in both my morning and night routines for at least a year. I feel like it not only helps with breakouts, but also soothes. I love it! I also follow with other mists (Physicians Formula The Essence of Healthy, Byoma Balancing Mist, LaRoche Thermal Spring Water).
Hi Abbey! If you wanna try another moisturizer you should try the khiels ulta facial cream! It feels so good especially with consistent use of tretinoin. Great for sensitive skin and specifically made to repair your skin barrier.
The Beauty of Joseon sunscreen is legitimately life changing -- it makes my skin look so unbelievably healthy, I don't feel the need to follow it up with additional moisturizer or any kind of makeup. For the first time in probably a decade, I go completely makeup free other than brows & mascara and feel GOOD about my skin. I've also been using red light therapy consistently for the last 3-5 months and all I can say is WOW. The hype is real, as are the results! I highly recommend the BoJ Ginseng Essence, and the Glow Serum. Both are incredible and have done wonders for my skin over the last few months, and that brand is phenomenal!
@@roshee86 I do! I use a mask from LED Esthetics, once a day (usually at night on clean skin before my skincare) for 15-30 minutes, depending on my patience 😂 I’ll pop the mask on in bed and watch a show and after it’s done, I do my full skincare routine.
Abbey I’d love for you to do a follow up red light therapy video especially addressing using red light while using Retinol and Tretinoin whether or not it can damage your skin when using them together. Love your videos!
Hello, just a heads up, you can’t mix copper peptides with aha’s and/or salicylic acids. It lessens the effects of the peptides, no matter the brand. Ordinary also recommends not mixing it, directly on their copper peptides page. Please take a peak just so others aren’t cancelling out the effects of the peptides!
A question I have had is if it is okay to use the copper peptides serum after using a salicylic acid cleanser since the BHA is rinsed off. I was using sal acid cleansers in the morning when I was using the regimen lab vitamin X but stopped when I stitched to copper peptides, and I have noticed more persistent texture since I made the switch likely because I cut that from my routine.
It is recommended to use acid and copper peptide at different end of the day. Or wait at least 20-30 minutes before layering copper peptide. If you use acid and copper peptide together they will cancel out each other.
ABBEEEYYYYY!!! All of the sprays by skinsmart are actually the same product! They just advertise them for various things! So whenever one isn’t in stock I just choose another one that is and boom I have the spray once again.
that cetaphil cleanser is AMAZING. their bpo cleanser is also great i know you hate bpo abbey but they use MICRONIZED bpo, 2.6% bpo (which is a much smaller percentage than a lot of cleansers) and includes licorice and zinc!! it is the only bpo cleanser i’ve found that clears my skin completely without drying it out or irritating my skins
I needed moisturizer… I came right to abbeys page, and to this video and immediately just ordered what she uses and the eye cream. I trust Abbey with all her research and products she uses… my hair is growing (‘not breaking 😂)because of her and my skin is glowing due to her serum recommendations! ❤ we love you
I am also loving the new “buffet” I changed my whole routine for the copper peptides it’s so simple! Everything I need in one serum it’s incredible and does not pill with my other products or sunscreen! My favorite BB I just found is the TARTE BB it’s got the perfect matte satin finish don’t even need to powder my nose! Lol 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
Hi Abbey, I’m curious what thoughts are on combining a chemical and physical sunscreen in the same routine? I saw a study saying zinc oxide could react to some chemical filters causing them to become ineffective and possibly limit UVA protection.
Apply your chemical sunscreen (preferably not from the USA because our filters are inferior - specifically our UVA filter - Avobenzone). Wait 10-15min for it to sink in, then apply your mineral sunscreen. Never mix chemical and mineral.
Acne on forehead is related to the gut, and skin conditions in general are the majority of the time linked to diet. Sugar, dairy, refined ultra processed carbs aka gluten… known triggers when it comes to acne and breakouts.
Had texture and breakouts in my T zone (and redness). Turns out I have Rosacea and I actually needed to go back to using Differin, which helped immensely. My skin had to get used to it again, which was annoying, but now my face looks a lot better. Probably not what was going on with you because you already use a retinoid, but maybe someone else is going through the same thing as me.
The Innisfree trouble line cleared up my acne like nothing else - amazing products, the cleanser is by far the best I’ve used and the other products in the line pair like a dream!
I love that you don’t edit out your bloopers! 😁 Do you think you use the mists because you don’t use toners/essences? I’m going to tell my niece about the CeraVe Gel Moisturizer. She has an oilier, more acne-prone skin type than me. My fave moisturizer I actually use at night and it’s the Stratia Liquid Gold. It feels so yummy on my skin and I think it softens my skin too! It’s very supportive to my skin barrier too.
After I wash my face, I put 1 serum on & a moisturizer. Period. To each their own & what they love & love to do & what works for them. I just kind of wonder, tho, if some of the products are making their way thru all the layers when 10 products are used. Abbey's skin, tho, looks lovely.
If you have dry lips than you should put peptides on them. Earlier this year I discovered the Drmtlgy peptide night cream. I started putting it on my lips and now my lips are never dry. You can do it with any peptide serum or moisturizer.
I'm not sure if you've tried the Dr. Jart Ceramidin Moisturizer yet, but it has been a game changer for my dry skin. I didn't know my skin could look so healthy till I tried it!
Led light therapy is a really important part of a skincare routine - I have noticed that my skin is boosted, after doing the treatment and I'm happy I bought a device that offers a possibility of using only one led light at a time, because blue light really calms my skin down (I use ufo 2). Everyone should do this kind of treatment
I love that Cetaphil cream cleanser, but depending on when you buy it could be really hard to get out of the tube so I had to let it sit in hot water for 2 minutes. I also use hypochlorous acid spray! 2 years now!
I've really been liking the cosrx alcohol free Centella toner mist. Everything breaks me out, but this doesn't! It really helps post acne too. I love it
Luna brush for facial cleansing to get rid of sunscreen and make up and dirt! I would recommend it to anyone, it transformed my skin! and yes to all Cerave products!
Do you find the copper peptides still work using an exfoliant serum underneath? I thought it wasn't recommended because it would deactivate it or something silly like that?
Abbey! Great video! Excited to order the eye cream. Important question: I have always applied sunscreen as last step in skincare; however, I have recently been reading that sunscreens with chemical filters need to be applied directly to clean skin before any other products in order to have the highest level of efficacy needed to protect the skin from sun damage. Do you have any info regarding this? Thanks in advance. 🤗
Thank you for bringing up the dry eye risk when using eye lash growth serums. Everyone can make their own choice if they want to use it or not but at least you provided the info.
Abbey i ordered the Cetaphil Redness Relieving Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 20 after watching your video i i received it with SPF 40. I thought it was misprint but it turns out they reformulated it so it's higher SPF now!!
I doubt that it’s a good fit for your skin, but I’m loving the Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cream moisturizer. I like the BoJ sunscreen, too, as well as the iUnik Centella Calming Vegan Moisture SPF50+ PA++++ and the Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum (SPF50+ PA++++). When my skin is annoyed with me, I use the Skin1004 Centella Air-fit Sunscreen Light SPF30 PA++++. I use a C serum in the morning and am testing to see if Vitamin C and cica together are more effective than either alone in my morning routine (using BoJ sunscreen when no C). So far, it seems to make a difference, but I’ve been testing it for just a few weeks. The big difference is that my sensitive skin can handle C every day when I use the cica sunscreens and can’t when I use he BoJ.
Hi abbey!!!! I am Absolutely LOVING your channel!!! I binge watch all your videos daily!😂🎉 Curious if you have recommendations for acne prone and large pore girlies as far as moisturizers as to not create any pore congestion?
Hey Abbey! I’ve recently become interested in all things copper peptides because my skin just cannot tolerate L ascorbic acid. I know you can’t mixed L ascorbic acid and copper peptides but what about with vitamin c derivatives? Also, do you have any thoughts on peach and lily’s new copper peptide serum? I’m so curious to know what you think of it! Thanks!!
The ordinary actually updated their website to the specific ingredients they advise against using this product with! I didn't realize that before I filmed this- going to see if I can get more info from this on them. Also, the Peach & Lily Copper peptides has .2% copper peptides & the ordinary has 1% so I'll stick with the ordinary!
@@AbbeyYung thanks so much for your reply! Your skin is absolutely glowing and I think I’ll look in to the ordinary’s copper peptides as well. I appreciate you!!
I use a different brand of the hypochlorous acid spray, but I totally agree that is a really awesome product. I started using it faithfully after my skin was having some more issues, and I found that it really helped with the texture and frequency of breakouts! The brand I use is called Ellement and it’s the exact same as what you were using 💁♀️ Also, quick question do you have a recommendation for a moisturizer that is oil free, fragrance, free, and ideally drying alcohol free? I would also prefer one without SPF. I have very sensitive skin and they discontinued my moisturizer! 😢
Great video Abbey as per usual. Question, would you ever do a video on shampoo/conditioner/treatment bars from different popular companies (Kitsch, SuperZero, etc)? I'd especially really like your opinions on the more treatment products.
I read on the Sunday Riley blog that hypoclores (sp?) acid can interfere with antioxidants because it’s so alkaline and not to use them at the same time. This is so upsetting because it works so well. Can you please do a deep dive into this? Literally no one but tik tok and her is talking about it and if will be a “scandal” if true.
Hey Abbey! When did you start using the BOJ sunscreen? I was using this and it gave me texture that you mentioned you’re experiencing as well (I’m also using tret). May not be the cause but I found out there are some pore cloggers in that sunscreen that can cause texture! When I stopped using it, my skin’s texture went away! Have a great Sunday!!
I have used the BeautyVille Eyelid Lift strips for about a month. Pleasantly surprised. Definitely a learning curve...but practice makes almost perfect. Worth the price...just keep practicing to get the right spot! Stay on all day. Have not been able to apply eyeshadow yet to look good but working on that. Natural with mascara and a little eyeliner best.
Can I ask what is the reason for the multiple layers of sunscreen? From my understanding it is also not recommended to layer on different types of sunscreen, especially when they have different filters, as I think they can interact in some ways that compromise the effectiveness?
Without makeup you look as if you have makeup, your skin looks so good. Wondering what's on your nails? Nice Chrismas vibes. I'm so frustrated with my skin because of my allergy plus sensitivity and light acne. I can't fing ANYTHING that works and it's not irritating. 🥴 My skin doesn't look bad, but I would like it to be better.
Hi Abbey! You are the cutest! I’m sure others might have mentioned this but you should put your products on your neck too - if it isn’t too sensitive! Best advice someone told me years ago!
You shouldn’t be using copper peptides and salicylic acid in the same routine. They cancel each other out. Avoid using aha, bha, vitamin c and retinols with copper peptides.
Hi Abbey!! Loving your content so much!! I have a quick question - I have seen a lot of skincare creators use hyaluronic acid and was curious about your thoughts on it since I notice you don’t use it, is it beneficial/not worth it?
I’m curious about your thoughts on murad? I love that brand! They have a lot of lines that are targeted for certain concerns and I want to try the vitamin C line…always have great results with this brand
Hey Abbey! I've recently been watching a lot of videos by Shereene Idriss (Derm in NYC). I think you would really like her if you aren't already watching her vids. You should look into the information she presents on hyaluronic acid & why it isn't a great staple to have in multiple steps (or at all) in your skincare routine. I'm also in the medical field - her info is legit. It would be fantastic if you could start spreading the word as well. Have a good day girly!
Would you do a comparison of Peach and Lily’s new copper peptide serum?! I’m seeing it everywhere and the ingredients look good. I would love to know if the extra copper really makes any difference since there is quite a price difference imo
Hi Abbey! I was wondering if you have ever tried any of the Allies of Skin products? They are a little pricey but they are having a buy one get one sale right now. I specifically like the peptides and antioxidants firming daily treatment and the eye cream. I have purchased a few others but haven’t tried them yet. Would love to see you do a review on their products!
Hi Abbey, 1) you're hilarious....love watching you!! 2) I do realize your neck & chest aren't problems for you @ this time, but I didn't observe you applying any of your products on the neck &/or chest. BELIEVE me when I tell you, but you'll be SOOOOO much happier later on if you also start applying all your face care onto your whole neck & chest now. 😊
Lovely routine and looks so enjoyable. Perfect description for me: highly motivated lazy girl :) I wish I could do everything that is good and positive ... have been looking for years for a magic wand as I also deflate in the evening. 💕
I am curious if you use any skincare on your neck including sunscreen? I know another content creator keeps her led mask next to her bed an just grabs it soon as she wakes up an uses it as she wakes up!!!
Also, have you tried all of the Amika schampoos & conditioners? Which line do you like the best? It would be very interesting to see a video of you trying the all out and comparing the results.
She talks about the Amika... Geeze i forget the name... (its the green line)... shes talked about it quite often and has used it in a few of her cideos. I also use the mask (the green one). She also recommends the shine mask. Hope this helps.
Fun fact!! All of the skin smart sprays (facial cleanser, eczema therapy, wound therapy) are the same thing just with different packaging to target different skin issues! This was confirmed by the company! I know the facial cleanser spray has been hard to get because of how it has blown up, so I thought I’d comment 😊
I haven't tried the ordinary copper peptide serum yet, but have been using Medik8's liquid peptide serum. have you heard of that brand before, or tried any of their products? I love their peptide serum!
Hey Abbey! If you’re looking for moisturizer recommendations check out the Purito barrier relief moisturizer- mary and may moisturizer, and pcalm cato cream moisturizer especially the last one u think would be to your liking, it lighter than the Austura one- dunno if i typed that right.
Hi Abbey! Love your channel and admire you so much! Some constructive criticism, take it or leave it: I recommend editing out more of your mispronounciations, or even just say “excuse me,” move on, and keep talking instead of pointing them out. You have a great personality and don’t need to keep in or point out when you stutter to “humanize” you or create humor. You already are fun to listen to. And we all stumble over words sometimes, but you emphasizing those moments just slow down your video and pacing. Please know I mean well, I love your channel and want you to continue to succeed!
🙄 Good Lord, is there anything else you’d like her to do, or change, to make YOU feel better? Perhaps she should sit up straight, get dressed and not wear a robe, ditch the headband, not laugh so much, not list the ingredients, don’t show herself applying the products, discuss her dating life more, talk about her dog more etc etc. See where I’m going with this? 🙄
Solid routine, Abbey. I was under the impression that acids reduce the efficacy of copper peptides, are you using them on a different day or always together?
Wait.... Abbey I just heard you say that you use your red therapy light mask everyday but I also watched a video you made from beginning to end on how a therapy mask works. And you said that it's not recommended to use it everyday.
I have been using the cetaphil face wash, and I also have their body wash. I'm halfway through the 2nd bottle of the face wash and just purchased my 2nd bottle of body wash. It helps with the itch that the KP gives me on my back and shoulders. I read that the body wash could be used on the face but when I 1st tried it burned but now I've been trying it again and no burn. Maybe down the line I can just use the body wash for both. That would help my bank account!
Why sugar molecules!? They're microscopically sharp? Sugar molecules literally shred the inside of the vessels and capillaries when people have consistently high blood sugar
