Lol ok so I asked The Ordinary if they could provide more clarification on what you shouldn't use with their Copper Peptides serum & the answer was backwards from what I have heard so many say! Because of this (& a couple other things), I am going to be shifting around my skincare routines and post an update ASAP (it's first on my list of videos to film next week). So if you watched the AM + PM skincare routines I just posted... pause on implementing any of it until I can give you guys that update! Friends FYI after reading your comments on my AM skincare routine video I took the lash serum back out of my routines! I hadn't researched them before and had no idea the side effects were so severe (I thought dry eye just meant you had eyes that felt dry and needed medicated drops lol YIKES). Thanks for keeping it real with me!
yea i used to use the grandelash serum and stopped after learning about prostaglandins - i still use their leave in slash conditioner because it does not have those in it, and neither does the ordinary lash serum (not sure how much this one really does though but it’s affordable)
Omg I use that anti microbial mist! It’s perfect throughout the day when it’s hot and I want to reapply sunscreen without rubbing bacteria all around my face. It has made a huge difference in my acne
For anyone who is struggling with irritation from tretinoin (like stinging upon application), apply your tretinoin to completely DRY skin. Applying it to wet skin will cause it to penetrate more deeply and quickly, which can cause stinging and irritation for folks who are new to tret or are increasing the strength on their tret. I know it feels counterintuitive since dry skin can feel more vulnerable, but this is a science-backed game changer!!
@lovefashionyo you're right, retin-a can be. If you aren't already, try applying it in quadrants on your face instead of trying to do your whole face at once. I do get my tret mixed with other actives using Agency (online prescriber), and that formula is more elegant / easier to spread.
How does this not rub off all over your pillow? I use Vaseline and cerave but mostly just for lips and the occasional barrier issues. But to slather like that? Maybe it's just a me thing! Also the cerave healing ointment in the tube separates on me, pretty annoying. Maybe the tub is better?

I literally just bought that skin smart spray on a whim yesterday. I saw an ad for the molecule spray on Instagram and wanted a cheaper alternative. I got it as a facial mist but also for body breakouts so I hope it helps with that! I’m so happy to see that you use it bc your recs never steer me wrong!
I did not want to love the SK-II but I absolutely do. One tip, since it's a first essence you'd want to use it first after the Skin Smart Mist. It's supposed to help anything you use after penetrate more deeply. I can't say it doesn't because my skin is noticeably brighter and any spots I get from breakouts disappear so much faster.
I use pitera essence both in the morning and evening. I have used the SKii, Scinic and now Missha…so far I might actually like the Missha time revolution the first treatment most❤ thank you du much for this video 👏🏼
Loooove that your getting into sk-II it’s the best! I’m broke as fuhk but still find a way to get the sk-II in my life. The only thing that helps keep my acne at bay. And far away. It’s so good. Hope your results are amazing :) :)
The Numbazin No3 Skin Softening Serum also contains Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate (21%). I haven't used it myself but heard it's a good one and it's a fraction of the price compared to the SK II essence. I believe the Numbazin also includes niacinamide and squalane x
Agreed! I love it….I am almost 57 and am always told how beautiful my skin is. I use a lot of products but am becoming partial to Asian skincare. Many similar/better formulations and much better prices! ❤
I love your videos! I see your morning routine has about 8 products and your evening has about 11 products, plus the red light therapy. I know you have your routine down so it doesn’t take much time for you, but it may for others. Question: Is there a minimum number of products that you would use to get the job done? Your skin looks great but I wonder if there is a “scaled down” version if we are out of town for a few days and don’t want to take all those products with us. ohhh if I were to make my PM routine super minimal it would be cleanser, tretinoin, moisturizer, cerave ointment. for AM cleanser, copper peptides, moisturizer, sunscreen. If you want to add one more product, DRMTLGY Needle-less at night!
Yes, For my PM routine, I apply either an exfoliator (lactic acid) or a vitamin c serum (on alternative days- only one serum per day) as my first step after cleansing. For my second step, I apply tretinoin mixed with cerave moisturizer. And for the third step I apply a peptide cream. That's it. I have been consistently using these products and my skin glows just as equally and I receive so many compliments on how shiny and smooth it is. For my AM routine, I apply copper peptide serum, cerave moisturizer and SPF 50 sunscreen. Also in the evening, I double or triple cleanse and in the morning, I only wash my face with water. Hope this helps!

I just started to use Apostrophe and use several of the items you have recommended. I especially love The Stratia liquid gold it's so awesome. I use George's aloe water and organic rose water as a toner by Leven Rose and I loove it. Love your videos and your skin is so beautiful.

Hypochlorous acid will neutralize any active skin care products. I recommend using it throughout the day to prevent breakouts, not in a nighttime routine. You don't want it to deactivate your retinoids, antioxidants, etc.
I'm sorry, WHAT?! So applying it before other skincare renders the actives as inactive? Yeah...I don't buy that, sorry. lol. Especially give how popular this product is i.e. the Tower 28 spray. That's a MAJOR claim and would be a huge deal if true, and brands would have to put something on the label. I've never seen or heard this anywhere.
I reached out to Tower 28 about this. Here's what they said: "If you're using an active vitamin C as part of your morning routine, we recommend using the SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray BEFORE any actives (allowing it to dry down fully first). If you plan to reapply for SOS throughout the day, wait at least 30 minutes between your application. Hope that helps! The hero ingredient in our SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray (hypochlorous acid) is super fast-acting and once it dries down it won't interact with any of your other skincare products (including actives like vitamin C!). As a fun experiment, you can try this on an apple! Cut an apple in half and apply SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray on one side. Wait a few minutes for it to "dry". Apply your vitamin C over both sides of the apple and monitor for changes (both sides should be the same and not brown which means the anti-oxidant is able to do its work!)"
I don't watch usually your channel but yt recommended it. I gave it a try. I'm surprised I don't know half of the brands you're using. I feel like many of the products beside Trentinoin are paid promo there are similar products with so much better price. I'm not sold.

I can’t find any reference from any popular source that hypochlorus acid has a negative effect on other skincare products. Bustle, Allure, and several other mainstream publications that are quoting derms and cosmetics chemists don’t mention it at all. The advice I found the most was just to apply it right after cleaning and don’t forget moisturizer and sunscreen blah blah blah. The only places I find reference to it deactivating other products is anecdotal sources on social media, blogs, etc. Granted I only went 2 pages deep on my Google search, but if it’s an issue it hasn’t hit the mainstream and I’ve been hearing about since COVID lockdown. It might be worth asking our favorite RU-vid dermatologist content creators!
Hey Abbey loved this video😁! 2 things though... First As mentioned in many other comments there are much cheaper dupes for SK2 that youd probably love! I have used the Secret Key starting treatment essence for ages and that is awesome! Highly recommend! Also iv been using hypochlorous acid both on my face and body for ages too and that has helped with breakouts/cysts/ingrown hairs more than anything else! However for my face i spray it on and leave it for an hour or so and then rinse it off as it does affect other ingredients. These are keeping my rosacea under control like nothing else. It’s changed my life. I use the hypochlorus acid 3x per week at night. Then I use Secret Key in the morning and SKII at night on the remaining 4 nights. I see a difference with SKII but can’t justify the cost using it every day. I try to get it on sale but alternating it makes me happy.
Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence is an excellent substitute, I’d stretch to dupe, of that ridiculously priced SK-II. Kelly Driscoll, who has focused on Korean products for years (which Secret Key is) highly recommends it.
When I see you without makeup like this makes me feel less unhappy with my skin. I see that pale lips and darker eyelids are real/common. I always think that I am the only one who looks like death without makeup, but seeing you with the same issues I do not think you look like death, so maybe it is not as bad as I see myself. Thank you
Have you ever used Caudalie products or others that contain resveratrol? What are your thoughts? Also - I recently tried the Pond’s cold cream makeup remover and it’s by far my favorite! I understand now why it’s always sold out at my local drugstores. Took me months to finally be able to get my hands on it after reading an article from another beauty blogger on it.
I have seen some people deccant the SKII in a mister bottle to facilitate application 🙂 That sounds a good idea, I personally do not have patience to apply liquidy things like toners using fingers or cotton pads, it just goes everywhere, you can't control the amount and it is very difficult to apply evenly 😅
I always transfer my toners/essences into a old serum dropper or pump bottle, depending on the thickness of the toner/essence. I don't want to waste any in an absorbent pad or by spraying around my face.

Great video but so much products tho. I only use one serum or an essence and a moiturizer at night. I have tried to incorporate the retinoid family but I just don't like it and I just don't feel I need it since I don't have major skin issues but just sensitivity and few minor redness. At least I put a vitamin c serum and sunscreen in the morning for maximum of skin protection (I'm 30). 😊 maybe I'll force myself a little more about retinoid around 40.
I love Abby, but like you I'm a minamalist. I use 2 steps + sunscreen in AM and 3 steps at night. The retinoid I use is Adapoline. It's fairly genital for a retinoid. When I started (in my early 40s), I was worried about sensativity. At first (to give my skin time to adjust), I used it only a 2 or 3 days a week, and I used moisturizer both before and after applying the retinoid. Through months 3 and 4, I increased frequency of the retinoid and decreased frequency of the pre-retinoid moisturizer. Now, I can use it with no sensitivity at all. I can also use it on my neck. Wish I would have started the neck use at a younger age for the collagen benefits. I'm only 45, and I'm getting turkey neck 😳
G&G Jelly Joker is my favorite cleanser and this comes from a someone who usually tries out a lot of new products and very rarely repurchases the same products again. This cleanser is one of those products that is staple in my routine. I like the texture of this so much, it is like gel-cream. And it does not foam. I have phobia about foam getting into my nose and mouth, so I struggled with cleansing step in routine. It was something I tried to just get done. Until I found this product. And I have lost count how many tubes I have used. Maybe 10 by now. It does not strip my skin, yet cleanses my oily skin properly.
If you haven't tried the Lisa Eldridge cleanser..... OMG!!!! It starts out like honey, turns into an oil feel and removes all my makeup. Leaves my skin so soft and hydrated, a miracle, as I have very dry skin. I also use it as a mask, the most luxurious product I have ever used. (I'm mostly a drug store, K-BEAUTY person) Many blessings!!!💖💖💖
I just ordered the geek and gorgeous vit C to try! And they included a mini if their jelly joker cleanser. I'm very excited. I hope ppl have had good experiences with their vit C!
At what point in the evening do you do red light therapy? After the cleanse and before the serums? I do it as well but find if I do it on a "clean face" after I cleanse, that my skin gets too dry during the 10 minutes of red light therapy so I have been considering a green tea serum before the mask to help lock in moisture (despite the company saying it's best to do on a bare face)

You should try the ABOP11+ green rooibos gentle resurfacing toner. 5% lactic acid, 1% salicylic acid, 5% PHA (glunolactone). pH 3.5-4 with green rooibos extract

No, copper peptides cannot be combined with tretinoin unfortunately. Maybe try alternating them. Tretinoin really doesn’t need to be applied everyday. You’ll get the same results using it every other day, trust me I’ve been using tretinoin for over 6 years!! My skin actually got better when i used tretinoin less frequently
I've been using vitamic c at night because I wanted to try copper peptides again. I haven't found anything that says you can't use Vitamin C + Tret, just to wait 30 minutes after applying the Vitamin C before using the Tret. That way the Vitamin C is absorbed and your skin is back to it's normal pH.

Damn, with the amount of occlusive creams and ointments you put on your eye area I'm surprised you don't get milia at all! I'm so prone to it so I can't even put thick creams around my eyes :(

Those do contain an ingredient that leads to dry eye, hollow sockets, and numerous other side effects. I forgot the name of the ingredient but I stopped using lash and brow serums altogether bc most of them do contain it and it causes an appearance of aging and can cause so much damage as to prevent you from wearing eye makeup, contacts, lash extensions, etc ever again without serious issues.

I did read about that somewhere too and I know exactly which ingredient you are talking about, but I’ve only heard about it causing eye color change and hollow eyes, didn’t know it causes aging too 🥺 now it makes sense, at first I was thinking maybe I’m just getting old and I don’t sleep on my back, but after months of using the wrinkles are becoming more prominent that’s why I’m suspecting if it’s the lash serums. Ugh too bad I love the results it’s been giving for my lashes but I’m going to quit using it because wrinkles are wayyyy harder or impossible to get rid of 😪
