Today I will talk a little about The Hunted and give my honest opinion! Coming to PC and Console. The Hunted on Steam : store.steampow... My Discord: / discord
@@AKayani559they’ve been in development for 2 years. They have ran devs into the ground and never paid them a cent. And if they were paid it was bare bones. This game is a scam don’t listen to anyone who says it isnt
Plus all of their assets are rebought. You can find their models on popular websites such as turbosquid or cgtrader. Most also come with animations. It’s easy to put together a game that looks good, with assets that are already high quality. I am taking everything with a grain of salt until I can actually see unique gameplay besides simple attack, walking and running animations thrown together.
I really wish people would stop supporting/promoting games that are very clearly cash grabs. Maybe Hunted will deliver on what they promise, maybe not, but the sheer amount of playables that they're locking behind a paywall is a joke. All that tells me is that these devs want to make as much money as quickly as possible; they do NOT care about their future playerbase in the slightest. Generally, this game gives me massive red flags. It's worth mentioning that they tried partnering with as many servers in this genre (Isle, PoT, BoB, etc etc) to build their community as quickly as possible. Smart business move but again, all it tells me is that they are more focused on making income and building hype than they are developing and pouring passion into a semi-decent game.
This game is a scam. The owner does not pay for his art, for his devs, for anything besides the premade assets that costed $300+ each. He fired and banned all of his staff for no reason. Do not support this game at all no matter what anyone says.
@@luckieplays Ah! I'm not suprised... Wow. I knew it he didn't pay for the art. He wasn't able to tell me the artist who "made this art for him years ago". This is so sad. Hope all the people working on this project will find a better job and people who got their art steal by this guy have justice!
@@luckieplaysThat's not true. I used to be staff (and me leaving has absolutely nothing to do with any bs said here). This game is 100% genuine, the devs are amazing and working hard, and the founder, Blip, is the most genuine, sweetest person on earth.
I joined around the end for sign up for private beta, I quickly signed up because I wanted to play so badly. We were all expecting it to be ready by october and I think there was some eta for that time. But months later and it still isn’t out. I don’t think this means the game is a scam though, there was no announcement for the eta for private beta and the game has come a long way from what it was back then. I’m gonna stay positive and at the very least hope it isn’t a scam.
When a game like this is being developed by your own hands and with a small team, things go wrong and its always a learning curve. This game doesn't belong to AAA game studio, and blip and his team don't have a huge team behind them.
8:28 There's a roblox animal survival game that has this exact issue, Yellowstone Unleashed. It's supposed to be an animal survival game, but with it being entirely PVP and everyone being able to respawn as a subadult, there's not much of a point to surviving. It ends up becoming a sort of brawl between everyone rather than a survival game, and attacking players is encouraged by the quests, which are the only way for you to get coins.
I think it was purposely made in this way, which is good as I enjoy this style of game. It is good to have different styles of animal survival games, Yellowstone is very chaotic but fun. Sometimes it is fun to play animal games in a sandbox environment with no rules to your survival, instead of constant realism all the time.
I Like PvE (player verses environment) a bit better for animal survival games, not like I don’t like PvP but I like playing Yellowstone unleashed as a red fox, I eat deer mice and when spring hits I go for the berries as well, it’s just strange to me that there is so many different types of animals that will attack others (if not necessary or not starving to death) Foxes only predators are eagles, coyotes, and humans of course but other carnivores would stay off unless starving, except in Yellowstone unleashed, sometimes cougars, bears and wolves are out to hunt for a fox. It’s so easy to die sometimes, I’m good at the game but when you die it’s hard to recover, especially after you spent thirty minutes surviving and you get ambushed. I also dislike that you can’t choose where you actually spawn, I hate the sink hole like it scares me. ( side note
@@Tabitha_On_Paws Yes I understand especially when you get kosed by a gang of mule deer just for existing, but honestly to me the game feels more free as if I can do whatever as an animal. The issue is probably that most players don’t know how to ecosystem functions and foxes are the small so treated as easy skills, also I think choosing your spawn would not benefit the game since then people would not spread around the map and instead huddle in the most popular area and there would be less exploring taking place (less engagement for the game), I normal just reset my animal until I spawn somewhere I’m satisfied with.
@@Hippo-Tusk Sandbox is fun until you get a group of petty people against you. It's genuinely difficult to enjoy Yellowstone Unleashed sometimes because of how free it is. Don't get me wrong, I love the game and the devs have done a spectacular job, especially with such a small team, but it would be nice if there was something to discourage mix packing and excessive kosing.
it's cool to see footage from them that isn't pre-rendered, but I don't think I can trust them after they used pictures from the store bought animal assets and claimed it as their own pics, feels like a scummy thing to do
It’s sad to say but i believe this game is a huge scam. Nothings besides visuals even looks good. I hope there’s at-least some unique abilities and systems for each animals. Digging, nesting, climbing.
You acting like it’s easy to make a game look so realistic, you can’t even make 1 figure so stop talking about what they should add until you learn how to make a game 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
@@KjHasReturned if they have nothing to show for what they’re advertising it’s okay to have an opinion. Being mad at them for speculating is weird behavior.
Trying to branch out and play more games, and man! I thought it'd be obvious to people by now what games raise redflags. A game lacking direction, human background (who the staff/developers taking your money ARE) and an extremely minimal amount of seeing how their assets came into existance are major signs of instability and I would not put my money anywhere near it. Using assets is fine, it is what they're there for, but when you're charging money whilst EVERYTHING in your game has not been made by you or someone on your team, then it reaks of an asset flip. I prefer buying fully or near fully completed games (which IS achieveable for indie game developers now, I should know because I am one) EDIT: Really hoping this is a genuine project with new game developers and not something nefarious like we're so accustomed to! Thanks for the video! Glad it came into my recommended. Subscribed :)
Idk. Even the animal models look like they are not from the same people kind of. The bear has giant unrealistic fangs, the Tiger is very realistic and the wolf just looks kind of... off, like he has a very droopy face in my opinion.
would recommend having an option to be able to set the settings on servers, so that for people who want a more hard core mode, can have that and vis versa. same for if people want to do quests to grow, or just an over time grow, as i get not wanting to do quests, as it can get boring, and can make you stuck at a growth stage for hours, if they do the questing system like path. ( aka, big clans holding questing spots, so others cant grow ) but just a thought
Why does the bear look like Draculas nephew??? 🧛♀️ Side note: a lot of animals are poorly represented in some video games ESPECIALLY big cats, bears and canids. The tiger actually looks really good and the bear does too minus the vampiric overbite. The wolf looks high AsF. I’m still hoping this will be released though
People see a game with beautiful graphics and they go crazy. The videos demonstrate anything and didn't give any answer about how the game will works. How are the collisions with objects in the environment? Against AI? This is not a gameplay demonstration, but an environment demonstration with walking assets. I spoke with the developer and in just one small conversation, got several redflags... Without forgetting that all the animal models are bought with already all the animations. They dared to tell me that they had made the models themselves... Why this lie?! There's nothing wrong with using assets, but bragging about having made them is something else.
why are these games never made by a serious company ever?? There's like 6 or 7 of these games currently "in production" and they all look like total scams
Hey cool video! I already play path of titans so I’m hoping for something more challenging , pot isn’t that. And it doesn’t have a huge focus on realism. So I’d prefer something different, not another pvp focused animal game. If hunted goes more like the isle I will play it.
Well, the 3 ingame shots are literally assets put together on demo maps....The tropical rainforest is the demo of a tropical foliage pack (they didn't even make it), the fur is free in unreal engine, and they just walk and have one hit anim. Tiger feets are even sliding. Anybody with a bit of Unreal engine knowledge and a bit of money could make this in 2 days. Even the bear is a turbosquid bought model made by a certrain CSBcgshopboy. Maybe they have good intentions, but the amount of work required behind those ingame shots is really really basic bought assets combination.
This and Primal earth are the most anticipated animal survival games right now and I'm side-eying both of them. This game look like a bunch of purchased assets and Primal Earth is having it's own very sus issues, most recently it took them FOREVER to get a single public patreon server started and the development of the game is....oof, let's just say it's not as far along as they claim it to be.
Just because a games like the hunted is doing something different and unheard of doesn't make it a cash grap. I am very excited about this game, but I havnt donated anything to the devs simply because I want to wait until we finally have an actual game trailer and for content creators to give thier reviews on the game before I myself jump into it. This is not me defending the game or anything, this just me putting my opinion across. In addition to what you said about the game being similar to path of titans, blip has said that the hunted was inspired by path, and so takes a lot of inspiration from path but to improve on making the hunted better. Plus blip did say that the questing in the game will be killed based not all the time questing to grow.
It's honestly similar to day of dragons. a lot of people are right, there is a major pay wall happening with animals being put behind locks because they are eventually going to be a paid playable.. I am in the discord and have seen them expressing this in multiple instances.. Mind you that's just my take on it- I'm not trying to argue or seem rude I just have seen what people are talking about when they say it's behind a lot of locks
@@gotabeta3847 yeah I understand what u mean. Its just so annoying when people just moan and moan about a game when they don't know the full story or just like to moan. But saying that, I honestly think that the hunted is it a great position already. The discord has over 6,000 members already and the game isn't even out yet lol, and I know that a lot of console players are excited for this game (myself included)
That referenced the honey-munching bear from Hanna-Barbera's Richie Rich for example. Not to mention getting the same bear whiskers, giving them a resemblance to a carnivoran version of a hyrax or either a gopher.
guys its like 3 fucking devs, the game is still very early in development. stop calling it a fucking scam just because its not being developed as fast as youd like
The game is not a scam, I was part of the discord moderation team for a while. The team has good intentions but is not exactly what I'd call competent. No one on the team has developed a game before and the people in charge of the game studio they started have little to no real world experience. There was a lot of drama as you'd expect with what is essentially your average discord mod team trying to develop a game. I can say with certainty though that it is not a scam. They do mean to develop the game but whether or not the team has the capability to do so remains to be seen. If you like animal survival games, it's worth following. I do hope it's released eventually but it's an incredibly ambitious endeavor for such an inexperienced team.
i feel like this is the case with most of these survival games. amateur devs with overly ambitious ideas they don't know how to deliver on. not even surprised to hear this
Thing is, there will never be a perfect animal/dinosaur survival game. Either its too realistic and boring, or its an mmo and looses the survival and realistic aspect. The problem is, survival/realism just doesn’t mix with fun
Here are a few of the problems: - This game got labeled as a scam/cash grab. - They showcase you images that they claim its "in-game" that look too good to be true. - There still hasn't been any time gameplay showcase to the public that can really prove what they stated and promised . - The number of pledges that they have announced and given away is a lot. and the topic I talked about in the video. Those are just a few I am sure people have a lot more to talk about in this game
Haven’t seen this game before but I’m actually excited about it now when you said its coming to consoles, I bet that will be so mean haha because always wanted a game like this for consoles because I love path of titans but modern animals will be so cool too :p and like it’s in the beta it seems, so cant really judge it already and saying you hate it lol, these games are so fun
From the small clip you show. Optimization looks bad. Animations are clunky riding in visuals are surprisingly really good. But they really need to polish up those animations and add transition animations for running to walking and optimize the game better before release.
They bought store made animals and when they realised they weren’t optimized for game development they redid all the animations and the grooming themselves. They never paid the devs that slaved away for them or the artists who created artwork and skin designs. KEEP IN MIND. The models are all found on CGTrade under VFX GRACE (amazing artist) and they were fully groomed and everything. What TH has done is nothing but make them look worse than before because they have ZERO experience with game design
I would not say I am PVP nor would I say I am PVE, And I don't think I am an RPer unless I am RPing being a solo animal lol.... I hate ton's of made up rules about how you have to play the game, its the bane of these games like the Isle etc.... I like PvP being enabled but I am not going to always take part, but sometimes I might.... I like PvE mechanic's give me something to do while I am waiting to grow besides map exploration?!? Basically a game like this for me is about Balance... Lean to heavy on PvP and the game dies, Lean to heavy on PvE and the game die's you need to make a game like this balanced for all playstyles. And for the love of god let the game MECHANIC's be the rules of the game....
None of the clips you showed convinced me at all, look so pre-rendered and not like gameplay. Basically the only thing that will convince me it’s an actual game is when there’s an actual game released
Of course it’s pre-rendered, they have been in development for just over a year, they have WAY more stuff then most games in a similar genre, take primeval for example, they have been in development for over 4 years now, and they have 1-2 animals, no map, no skills, nothing is replicated, can’t eat or drink, instead of bashing them for releasing content that is pre-rendered actually take the time to look into why they are releasing content that is pre-rendered, because for a indie company to get as far as they have in 1 year is a MASSIVE achievement
@@RebukeTheLies if they really have gotten so far and done so much work I’d like to see it then, instead of pre-rendered cutscenes with a poorly designed hud placed over it, show me more actual gameplay. I have no obligation to support a game like that unless they give me an actual reason too and I haven’t seen anything like that yet. You can have a whole lotta assets for a game sure, but when all you show is something that won’t be actual gameplay it’s not gonna convince me. But keep coping ig
@@CallofWhiteFang762okay but these clearly are not cutscenes, and what gameplay are you after? It’s not released so what game-play do you expect to see? If you want to see the bear, tiger and more then join the discord and actually look into the work they are doing, your sitting here bashing a game for doing exactly what they promised, which is MAKING A GAME, because it doesn’t come out with the same time-frame as a AAA game it’s automatically a cash grab??
And yes, I get we have been burned by a fair few other games doing what your afraid of, doesn’t mean ALL indie games are like that, so if you don’t want to support it then sit down and quite down, because it’s comments like this that make developers want to quit developing games, I being one
@@RebukeTheLies I have a right to my opinion, if you don’t like it you can ignore it but if I see some real sus activity imma call it out and this game has been nothing but raising hairs for me and many others too apparently
Having done a little research this game is for profit not passion, I understand everyone needs to make a profit but you don't start a project for profit you start a project for passion!
Wolf quest may not have the graphics, but its gameplay loop (especially when tower fall releases!!) is just so much more content and motivating to play. I think people focus way too much on hyper realistic graphics that run like shit for pretty much every person who is going to be purchasing your game.
@@albytross8681 wdym? probably shouldve been more specific but i meant wolfquest ae. The models arent spectacular but the graphics are definitely good (also it runs like shit for me anyway lol)
@@wimpy_wolf6157 The wolf model and run cycle has always looked very janky to me, along with the map lighting always making the landscape look very stark
@@albytross8681 yeah thats what i meant, i feel i couldve phrased things better but the wolf model looks like an oversized husky based on the chest and face
I honestly want them to be more like path of titans so more people can actually enjoy it not awery is a free loeder like you many people actually have life's so making it so that you lose awery thing isn't a good idea
I do not believe that is the case. I work a 9 to 5 internship job and I have a "life" outside of RU-vid. I almost don't have time to play most of the games but that doesn't stop me from playing the games that I like, especially if it is a one life. At the end of the day, it goes down to what type of game you want to play and willing to sacrifice your time.
@@ThefantasyWithin-yk1oe I never talked " Shit" about any of those games. If you watch my videos and follow my channel you should know that The Isle is my favorite dinosaur game and has for DoD I just didn't like the game and never talked " shit". I think you are misinterpreting my opinion specially about DoD.
The walking animation looks too stiff and floaty. the bear looked better because you could kinda see his weight pushing down on his lower legs as he walks with the hips. This is one thing that the Isle has that others don't, the movement and turning is fluid and perfect, but the attacks are very basic and janky.
