It's supposed to be like "Lavender Castle" if you remove the extra letters (a ton of people put emphasis on the VEN which sounds super weird to me!!) (yes it's an L not an i)
I was thinking of rebranding to a different name entirely, but that's too much effort and a lot of people would be confused sooooo... yeah. Also fun fact the name lavencas was kind of a placeholder until I thought of something that sounded better, but my channel exploded way faster than I would've ever imagined and by that point it was too late...
Name change might happen eventually (I've been saying this since march...) but I'm afraid of people not liking it lol

2:47 Those bombs are called Copper Bombs. They deal more damage and have a larger blast radius than regular bombs but they have 50% chance to malfunction and not decorate at all. In this case, your copper bomb malfunctioned.

11:02 Seems like you encountered a "fake beggar." They have a small chance of replacing the regular beggar and will drop 1 of the 2 items. Small Contraband and Contraband. As the description said, you're supposed to carry it with you to the next floor. Abandoning it will cause it to disappear, as shown. However, you can consume both items, but they aren't the best idea. Small Contraband will just summon a small white creep, while the regular Contraband gives you a wavy cap effect. If you do bring it to the next floor, you'll find a suspicious beggar waiting for you at the start. The small contraband gives you 1 item from his set pool, while the regular contraband gives you 2-3 items. These items range from an actual black market pool, like drugs/shrooms, weapons, organs, etc. Idk if you'll ever play fiend folio again but that's just a helpful tip and a little challenge for you to do the next time you encounter/play it.

+1 Info. Clear Rune only works when there is a Rune on your selected Card/Rune/Pill slot. That's probably why the Contraband wasn't rerollable, because you had no Rune equipped.

god it gives more than just a wavy cap effect. its like using wavy cap at least 20 times. it grants a gigantic tears up, but the effects are so bad its impossible to see and it crashed my game. as far as i know theres no way to get rid of it except to progress to the next floor, but unfortunately i was stuck on the hush floor.

If you drop the small contraband, it will be taken by a little crook immediately. If you drop the contraband, it will spawn a crook who tries to take it but you can stop him.

1:39 those are firework batteries there's an item in fiend folio called excelsior, its a passive item, the way it works is that, when you use an active item, it will shoot out a load of homing rockets all around you in the current room (the number of which being determined by the amount of charges the item has as well as i think the amount of copies of the item you have) which all scale to your current damage (iirc) the reason this is all relevant is because the firework batteries give your current active item the excelsior effect for a single use

The Rockets do 1-6x ur dmg based on the charges and you get 33% more Rockets if you have the Excelsior music mod installed. (last part is not a joke)

In case you don't know, the figure wrapped in bandages during the cacophobia fight is named Venus. The fight itself is a reference to both sans from undertale and the artwork of Francis Bacon (ex. the flower field at the end almost matches one of his paintings). There are also secret audio files if you look her up in the games code.....

Okay, so after seeing this video, allow me to clear up your confusion: 1. The purple batteries you found in downpour were Firework Batteries. Each time you use an active with these batteries, you launch a firework. 2. The bomb you picked up at Caves were Bronze Bombs. I believe it has a chance of diffusing itself. Another normal bomb could blow it up next to it, so you can blow up more. 3. I wasn’t sure if you were talking about blue coins or the machine, but I’ll say them both. The blue coins gives you Bethany’s shooting spirits and the machine acts like your cards.

2:45 thats a copper bomb, what it does is that it will increase the damage dealt by your bomb tremendously for a single use ...except theres a chance that will happen, where the bomb will simply not detonate

There’s a new item in this mod you might love, a new options item that causes special rooms, “treasure rooms, shops, cursed rooms etc.” to reroll amongst each other for 3 options and they can be anything, even angel/devil rooms and error rooms

To be honest, as someone who's subscribed to you and watches every video you put out, I enjoy your Fiend Folio runs because they're something different. Like, normal Isaac runs are fun, but they get kinda samey to watch every day. (Something which I think you've noticed, given the "exploit challenge runs" you've been doing.) Fiend Folio mixes things up a lot, which makes things more interesting. I know you tend to prefer less overhauly mods, but I do think an occasional Fiend Folio video would be nice for long-term subscribers like myself. Just my $.02.

So, those weird purple batteries! Those are called 'Firework Batteries'. What they do is that they charge your active item with a special charge that- when used- activates both the items effect and a unique firework effect that creates three homing projectiles that seek out enemies.

the rocket battery does the following: when using an active item rockets will come out of your character, they will chase the enemies and deal damage to them, they scale with your damage, and for each charge point it will come out 3 (if I remember correctly it was 3 or 4) so the more charges, the more rockets will come out

10:16 i dont know offhand what these guys are called, but its not just a random card effect; you give them pennies, and usually they'll pull up a card. if you want the card i think you have to blow em up. sometimes they "malfunction" and use the card instead, which is what happened here (by the looks of it, it pulled hanged man, so it was a random teleport). Sometimes itll pull up a portal like card reading does.

Guppy transformation was ,add harder to get with the Repentance patch long ago. Active guppy items only count to the transformation if you are currently holding the item. That’s what you didn’t turn into guppy until you got 9 lives.

Honestly I have seen a vast majority of stuff in Fiend Folio including loads of enemies and especially the bosses. I know the Mines and Corpse are actually kinda crazy of floors and Dank Depths has like three new bosses in the mod
