Yeah, I think this is also one of the only cards that make red players rethink their deck choices, as they literally cannot play their deck since turn 2 😂🔥🔥
I think that it's a great addition - mono red definitely struggles lately, so they need all the help they can get. There's also 2 mana creature that is a mini aggro sheoldred, and new monstrous rage adding +3/+0 with another upside, so maybe red will finally be playable - outside of meme jank brews as before.
Its so funny how arena reddit and discord still try to defend monoR is not a problem, that the meta isn't completely polarized, when there are 20 different streamers just making decks to farm monoR and get matched against it 9/10 times lmao
I mean, mono red is BY FAR the most popular deck in bo1, with overwhelming share in the meta. Around 28% of all decks is mono red, while 2nd most popular deck is around only 12% - and it's also aggro deck, just a different one (rabbits). For comparison, discard is less than 3% of meta, and azorius is barely 3.6% of meta. So I mean, stats tell it all, not even talking about unfun playing pattern of mono red, that reminds of tibalt's trickery.
I love torturing aggro decks with High Noon. You just know they've lost like 5 turns before they do. EDIT: After playing for a bit Im still missing Lockdown. Even with high noon, all these little saga enchantments and tokens running around really need quick cleaning up.
Nice deck man, I tried it and its rly fun thx👍 Sadly I have only one starfall so i put 2*sunfall in and I'm missing sunken citadels too, they seems important, but its still good😅 maybe I will craft some later. Bouncing Beza with Wanderer is fun too and sometimes you can make free treasures ( 29:19 )
Honestly both sunfalls and starfalls are kinda interchangeable - I think starfalls usually go nicely with beza, but with sunfalls you might have often better sweep+token, so both will work :) Citadels are nice addition, but if you play without them best to go for untapped lands of some sort - they you improve tempo so it hurts deck way less :) Glad you enjoyed!
Yeah, that's something I've noticed too - I always ignore the treasure part for Beza, I just see it as anti-mono red wall :) Definitely need to pay attention, 1 mana can make all the difference!
@@SlothMtg Yeah, although Forge is still a deck. Maybe a Season of the Burrow or two could help with that. This deck has been great against the aggro decks though.
I think it still should be decent, golgari has weak matchup against control, our cards are simply stronger. But yeah, you should definitely see more mono red than anything else, statistically
As always a solid deck and strong video. Only issue I see with this deck is no gy hate + no artifact hate. Are those 2 archetypes combined enough of the meta to be a concern? Arguably Eternal Wanderer might be enough to slow boros artifact. Perhaps trade 1 loch and 1 union for 2 of those 3/1 whote creature that exiles gy on ETB?
Showdown is more than just a sweeper. Applied tactically, it can wreck their turn by removing all their cool lizard abilities, or let your creatures block profitably against Scales of Shale. I learned this the hard way - Showdown can scrape out another turn for the control player to stabilise, and is heavily underestimated by most aggro pilots well before you have the 6 mana to use it as a sweeper.
That's your opinion, nothing more. I don't understand how you even think your matchmaking is problem of decklist 🤷♂️ I mean, until you edit comment for the 4th time I guess.
Hah, it wasn't an accident when I was choosing the name:D Funniest part is - personally, I play pretty much all games modded to be played way slower than normally (like 95% less exp on Skyrim etc.). So yeah, just Sloth things 🤷♂️❤🦥
Esper will some how always be better but I will always refuse to play it lol. What are some must craft cards, for midrange/control, from these last few sets?
Teaching mono red players how to play by forcing them to not discard their whole hand so they actually are forced to make choices, you are improving the community!
I truly believe most mono players play red, because they don't realize how cool playing real magic is. High noon is basically a personal trainer for them ❤🦥
@@SlothMtg They need a healthy diet of greens, feel that is where magic players should always start! You never feel unhealthy after a nice rampy dino deck, but mono red aggro is all sugars, not good! I am thinking of building a red control deck to see if can help show a better way. Thanks always for sharing!
Indeed I think green and black are always appreciated by all the colours :) Green is very "fair" way to play magic, and also enjoyable - it seems a lot of bros also enjoy green decks on the channel :) Hard to build red control, mostly because you have not great removal against high-toughness targets, and also no answers to enchantments - while also not having way to prevent anything rough with counterspells. Tried, but very hard archetype for control - still cool though :) I personally like virtue mono red, had it showcased on channel looong time ago as cool idea:) Thanks for comment Bro!❤💚🦥
@@fencingfireferret1188 Appreciate the Comment man!:) However, I think this isn't a real reasoning, I remember that when I started I also didn't have 20 mythic wildcards per deck, I didn't even have rare lands of any sort, so making 3 colour deck was a miracle. So I just crafted worse versions of control decks, experimented with builds and made jank after jank having huge fun and making dozens of decks - with some key rares that were shared by them. If you make control rares, you can make many twists to those decks - switching only uncommons and lower, while keeping core rares that aren't as numerous. Lands can be all basics or dual uncommon/common lands, some are even very good like lifegain ones. So yeah, as you can see, you aren't forced to play aggro just because you don't have many wildcards - I never played aggro for like 2 years (probably more) of being f2p, and I never used a metadeck back then. So yeah, I think it's usually just an excuse to use easy tier 1 deck and skip some progression steps for sake of easier/faster wins 🤷♂❤🦥 That's an interesting topic - so I hope you don't mind the banter :)
@@SlothMtg As always, I enjoyed every last minute. Just because Jin Gitaxias is no longer standard legal doesn't mean High Noon lost any of its value. Still a very solid card. Thak you for the amazing content, Goosefather! Can't wait for your video tomorrow. 🫶🎃
