Omg, 13-0 in ranked..got bored of winning..but this one game, oh myyy.. 😅 Played against a blue deck, he did 2 Jaces on his turn , minused X=5 with my Valgovith on battlefield, then on my turn I started milling him 30 cards and playing his cards at which point he conceded.. 😅❤️😅🤗
it's wild to me that they reprinted ethereal armor... i saw it and i was like.. oh ok.. xD but the other bombs like valgavoth.. this power creep is just nuts
In the last game, you played ghostly dancers in the deck, what was the change that you made, and the definitive decklist is with or without the ghostly dancers??
Without - I started with 2 of them, but realized that I actually never got to a point when I would waste so much mana on any turns. So yeah, well spotted, and with all extra card draw I think you can easily just play many small spells redrawing cards, than go this 5 mana monster :)
I'm a huge fan of this style of deck. Something good to know is silent hallcreeper can copy a different hallcreeper resets the options, it might be slow but you can draw a card every other turn or grow them while keeping unblockable. Also a good reason to play mocking bird as well. Just some random thoughts. Thank you as always for the vids man!
You make my day with your videos, even if a deck doesn't work out for me, just listening to you explain the deck and the game play, your laugh, your enjoyment is contagious and makes me want to play everyday! You are the best SLOTH!
Hey there!:D Man, that's really wholesome to hear - always fun to make those videos and see how they are enjoyed! So thank you Sir, as your comment just made -my - day :)❤🦥
I played similar version (one or two different cards) and its really nice. Sheltered by ghosts is one of better cards in this expansion and one of my favs to use. I pretty much put it in every white deck.
I've been having a lot of fun with something similar, but splashing black for Zur (so replacing auras with non-aura enchantments like seal from existence). Possibly a little more janky than the mythic version, but it definitely feels pretty good when they kill Enduring Curiosity and you get to turn it right back into a creature again, or they think they have a few turns before Overlord of the Mistmoors flips and suddenly it's active (and 7/7 hexproof, lifelink, deathtouch - which is, you know, kinda decent ;) ). Really nice to see the proper version in action :)
@@LaurentCassaro Correct. Unable To Scream works better in Dimir Enchantments, where it can reduce almost anything to Cut Down / Nowhere to Run / Virtue of Persistence fodder.
Nah, if anything, you should add more removal like ossifications. This type of removal that you mentioned, is unfortunately very non-premium, leaving card on board, means you trade less than 1 for 1. It's more of an emergency play, than anything else. I've seen the card and I also noticed it's pretty cool, but this type of removal is pretty much never good ❤🦥
This deck should stay pretty meta - basically new set made this deck extremely strong :) So many busted cards (especially this 2 mana enchantment with removal, pump and lifelink, all in one:D)
You would love flash dimir - it represents everything I love in MTG and allows many tricky plays. BTW you always sit on so small amounts of gold and gems - you must have tons of wildcards 😂
My friend, you are reading my mind :) Dimir flash is one of the archetypes I played a lot in historic before making a channel, and I loved those plays. And 2nd part is also correct - love your analytical mindset :D I have around 100 rare wildcards I think, but only 20 mythics I guess :P And my dragon-like hoard of vaults
I was thinking there had to be a standerd legal way to remove counters so I’m glad this works. I’m definitely going to save this deck. It might take me a while to fully craft the cards but it will be worth it.
I made a similar deck that I have been playing but splashed green w/ fabled passage for Calix. It is really fun. I was sad to see enchantments leave with rotation. Glad they’re back. Great vid sloth!
Recently discovered you. Your attitude (and accent hahahah) make you very enjoyable to watch. I also like your game knowledge and explaining your thought process
@@SlothMtg I didn't, it populated because I watch other MtG content. Stream, recording...whatever you want to call it. That was my mistake, I just call everything on RU-vid a stream. But I do understand the difference.
@@SlothMtg it really is, if you get a chance! Please troll historic ranked with ninjustsu! It's so fun putting valgarvoth, Toxrill and Maha out for a total of 9 mana 😅
True, this type of answer is never fun :D I guess at that point, it's best to stack vault's tresures, and just hard cast all threats. Most Deadly cover ups exile Valgavoth or Atraxa, so usually you just try to hit the other one :)
I watch all top bloggers in MTG, and I usually don't comment anything in social media. But, sir, thank you for being the TRUE magician. You helping the standard to be the game of magic and not the game of loops and mono red style racing for position in top Mythic.... Your decks are really interesting, wise structured and competitive with those stupid loops and agros 🔥🔥🔥 Thanks a lot for your impact and just existence in MTG world!!!
I hope you read this part as well😅 forgot to say: I assume it's sometimes hard to combine a life and hobby which is not financially beneficial and demands a lot of time. You have the "Patrons", it's not a lot, but if you will have the really hard moment when you will be kind of in process of making decision to leave MTG as a blogger, please inform us, I am pretty sure that I am not the only one can't afford to support you weekly/monthly but I will definitely donate to help you stay in blogging and hope that the hard times will pass you soon :) Beat wishes, Random 27 years old guy from Netherlands 🫶👋
I'm not sure - that was the only card that I considered switching - in theory it is perfect, but usually it just doesn't do much, either dying or being reduntant as we have rite of the moth. So my initial thought was to replace it with removal vs aggro decks - but wasn't 100% sure if it won't hurt value matchups. But yeah, I think faithfuls potentially should be replaced, rest of the deck handles reanimation plan well enough :)
I so much miss "them good old times" when you could build up and slog it out... when Magic was still more of a "the Gathering". Nowadays it's win or loose on turn 3-4. Yay power creep.
I think it's the main problem with arena. There is no "gathering" element. No chat, no friend add system, no option to just not play against a deck. At a LGS hardly anyone plays mono red agro, because no one will play against them. Friendly games of magic are actually friendly with people matching their decks up to have a good game. Arena has killed that, but it's soooo much cheaper than trying to collect physical cards, and so much quicker to get a game, so here we are, playing crappy games of magic against tryhard turn 3 combo decks. Smh. Such a shame.
@@dracodominus2800 Man... You said everything! Magic was losing the "gathering" but the community that still belive in this is not small. Reason why Commander have grown up so much, and also informal drafts in friends/coleagues' houses.
I don't mind going up against Valgavoth; you just have to run sweepers. There's so many creatures now that trade n-for-1 against targeted removal via offspring, graveyard loops, dies triggers, ETB triggers, combat triggers, ward, etc. that I find mono-red is one of the few matchups where I actually want it in my hand instead of a sweeper. I'm experimenting with Orzhov Control lately with 0 targeted removal and 20+ sweepers. 60% winrate so far. It is definitely worse vs. mono-red but with 4 split up and 4 temporary lockdown it can hold its own against other aggro & midrange decks and will occasionally steal a win from mono-red. Playing Split Up against an opponent that reanimated Valgavoth is so satisfying.
