Wow. If even you're busting out the "so you don't have to" line, this must really be a disappointment. Gaming RU-vid is such a valuable public service for gamers :)
I'm happy I read the reviews beforehand and saw a lot of people complaining. Same with Early Access Players on RU-vid. I'll happily overlook this title
I genuinely thought this was an early access game until your final thoughts at the end. In the first place, there have been plenty of polished EA games but being a full release game, it's even more reason to be critical. Thanks for the transparency and honesty!
The entire life story when you’re trying to find a recipe online is so real. Like why do I have to read 20 pages about your grandma and dogs before learning how to make pasta
Most of the time I feel like you are too nice and not harsh enough so no worries about that 😅💖 full release and for that price this feels like a joke. I do like the art style though so it’s a pitty. Thanks for sharing 💖
I wasn’t able to get a refund and was so unhappy about that. They have released an update for PC and it has improved the game, so since I own it, I’m starting over.
I love your game reviews - they're always so informative and entertaining! And considering the state of this game, I'm genuinely surprised that this is a full release and not an early access. If it were properly polished, it could've turned out to be a decent game.
I was actually enjoying the game at first, for me it plays like a mindless game while watching tv etc. But I did get frustrated when I couldn’t find the raised bed recipe and at the time no one knew what to do. I have refunded the game, maybe I’ll try again at a later time when it gets updated.
@@olliiana W ell yeah, I know that now. I started playing day one, and at that time there was no other guide / source for me to figure it out. Much like how Josh mentions he didn’t know either and kept passing through days / trying to find new quests and he happened to talk w/ the NPC who sold the recipe. I also went through multiple days exploring finding chests, and just happened to not think about talking w/ NPCs. That’s where I think this game will do better with giving just little more direction than it does, in most other games the NPC who gives you a quest will likely tell you “oh you can find said recipe w/ so and so.” I wouldn’t say it’s a bad game, it just doesn’t feel fully finished at some point which can be frustrating since it’s being labeled as such. Once there are a few updates (hopefully) then I wouldn’t mind purchasing again and giving it a better shot. But right now, I did not feel like price tag was worth it. Ofc that’s just my opinion, to each their own.
I don't mean this meanly but I think developers think its easy to make a farming games . I feel like they create a generic farming game, slap a cute paint on it and think that's all they need when in reality farming games are complex and difficult. Also I love that you named her Josephine as my name is Josephina.. The Spanish version.
I love your honest reviews! I always wait before buying games, to see what reviewers say. A bunch of people in the cozy gaming group I'm in bought Garden Witch Life and were disappointed
They have made several updates and I find this game fun!! I have roses and grapes, tons of tomatoes and each item that grows opens recipes and items you can use to make more things. I even can create rose perfume and plates that bring quite a bit of coins in the community box!!
josh, you crack me up xD i really love your sarcastic comments, you're really funny without even trying. after a long day of work, it's good to finally relax and watch your videos. sending you lots of love!
I'm so upset I impulse bought this without doing any research. Already hit a progression killing bug after 4 hours, with a bunch of other minor bugs too. Hope they patch this game soon, I do really like it when it's working lol
Hopefully they patch it up and can be fun for you. I bought Everdream Valley without researching and I wish I had, I don’t really like it. I wish you could demo switch games, sort of like how Steam lets you refund games with less than 2hours within a week.
I appreciate you and others sparing me from this I had a bad feeling about the game but afer wtaching this video and others my suspicions had been confirmed. Thank you for your sacrifice for us!
I tried it too I feel like it could be a really good game with a little more work and maybe a more adult approach like a lot of the dialogues and tutorials seemed a bit more aimed at younger players
I was so excited for this, but after playing the demo, I was so disappointed. I was hoping it would be improved, but it doesn't look like it has at all. Thanks for confirming that I can skip this.
Fatigue has been retired as a stat, just so you all know. Fertilizer gives nutrition to plants faster but dries up the ground, compost heals the ground and gives nutrition slower.
It’s been a while that I’ve played a game where there are more cons than pros for me ☹️. I wanna find more pros for it but that likely won’t happen for a while till they fix a lot of stuff. Here’s hoping! 😅
Oh wow, I played the demo of Garden Witch Life a few months ago and assumed it was so rough because the developers had released an older more-limited version of the game for the gaming festival at the time. It looks exactly the same, with all the same problems I had when I played it -- mismatched doors and assets, confusing character intros (couldn't find the library/tree thing with the invisible forming-bridge until I looked in the forums) and general economy problems
Hmm they are releasing updates to fix the bugs. I believe it just went live on steam like yesterday, and they removed the fatigue system. Im on switch so i gotta wait a bit longer. Ive also put it down while i wait ti play, but it is a cute game XD
Thank you so much for creating this video Josh! I had looked forward to this cozy game but after seeing the game play it’s a HARD NO. I always enjoy your vids!
I know they've updated it already, but I'm still going to wait for more updates. I really like the art and I personally like not having a grid to plant in, but everything about it still seems really rough. It just doesn't feel like it was ready for a full release. Hopefully they keep working on it.
I really wished I would have watched some more reviews before buying this, I played for about an hour and uninstalled, just so much more needed to make it fun.
if he had bought ut, he wouldn't get his money back because after playing 2 hours steam often refuses a refund. or when you own the game for a while and never played it.
@@JoshGamingGardenthe unjustified confidence some games have to sent keys to youtuber is so weird 😂 why would you sent this too someone? Do they have no testers? I don‘t understand 🥲
Aw man how disappointing! It looks so cute and has a lot of potential.. i hope they take the feedback seriously and fix these issues! I'd love to play it once bugs are fixed and after they polish it!
I wish i can get a refund the game glitches i made it to day 25 when i save a come back the day goes back to day 3 or 2 but my items are still there but the well rope goes missing and the vines in the house reappear and the beginner notes pops up but all my progress are still there
I decided to try the game for myself, and unfortunately I requested a refund. A lot of it sadly strikes me as lazy and does not feel like a lot of love went into it. I was really looking forward to this game for a long time, so overall a very disappointing experience.
I mean.. you can justify a refund if you can prove that the game is unplayable wich shouldn’t be the biggest problem from wich what i saw in Josh‘s video ;0
I very much enjoy the gardening and cooking mechanic. But the game feels unfinished. Wish the devs took a bit more time on this one. I have been enjoying this game very much, it just feels unfinished. There's an update coming that shpuld adress most if not all issues.
This is disappointing. It seems they tried their best but their best wasn’t enough. Only time will tell if this game gets any better w/ future updates or is completely forgotten in a few weeks. Just in case, if anyone is looking for a game like this try Wylde Flowers.
I'm so mad at myself for blindly purchasing this game when it released on PS5.... I wish I could get a refund. Such a messy game. I filled my inventory on the first day and couldn't figure out how to store things. Awful game, but they got my money.... 🤬😡
the most annoying for a full release.. even after the latest patch.. you cant finish the game because things are missing ingame... you cant craft everything, because these items you need are missing too, trees reset after 69/70 days to 59/70 days, so if you need something of a full grown tree.. well.. you cant.. at least 2 npcs quests are bugged.. you cant do them.. animals arent working as they should.. I liked the game at first, even with its slow playstyle and nothing explained and all the glitches, but not be able to finish a full release game... thats bullsh*t...
What a waste of a good base game. I feel bad for the concept and 3D artists who busted their asses creating a vision and a whole world for it to get fcked up. I mean come on guys! The whole point of a farming game is to make it SATISFYING! 🤷🏼♀️
It is indeed buggy but there are games that have been massively recommended on these type of channels and are in far worse state. I will wait for hot fixes 😊
Idk I understand you're review this video shows things from a old patch like the forced sleep is removed no more fatigue... i would do another review with the steam patch also I dont think you played long enough to give it a review. You can craft a lens to see the quality of your plants you learn it not to much later on xD games been great my gardens all green i finished the ending of the game i have so much to do. .. lol I have also spoke to the developers and they are considering adding fishing no thanks to me and other Quality of Life things I told them to add to the game :)
I was going to say this exact thing: @JoshGamingGarden you should probably check your video together with patch notes and maybe post some updates to it since all game breaking bugs were fixed. It is incredibly unfair to post a review AFTER the patch dropped showing bugs that no longer exist. While I fully understand video editing takes time, you, as a content creator have a responsibility to provide accurate information. The devs have worked tirelessly for the past 3 months without rest due to the changed release date and did their best as a team of 2. Patches will continue to come for fixes and community requests.
I am really grateful for this review. This looks so cute but too many glaring flaws. I have to have maps that tell me where I am at least as I am super bad with directions and I have low vision. Thank you for your honest reviews.
