I have the APR TCU tune on my 2017 GTI with the DQ250, love the tune. I have done the dog bone mount stage 1, I love the way it shifts in drive or manual after switching to sport. I almost never use sport because the rpm’s stay high all the time which prevents you from using all the low-end torque of the IS20.

Your channel is the reason I bought a Mk7.5 GTI back in 2020, can you believe I've somehow left it stock? Can't have that, I am picking up an EQT Stage 1 and a TCU tune pretty soon. When I get the funds I'll be going full stage 2!

I've got a 2017 Audi S3 (New Zealand market version) with the DQ381 and I just took my car into the Audi dealership for a recall/Technical bulletin. I had been running the IE TCU tune version 1.02, so when i got it home I loaded up the IE software and dongle to reflash it. Two things I noticed: One; the TCU computer hardware serial number had changed, so it seems Audi changed the actual TCU computer. and Two; Now the IE TCU tune version 2.1 is available, so I upgraded to that, and then ran the DSG learn/adaptation process in the IE app. I'm yet to drive it on this new software to see how it runs, but I'd love to see a changelog between versions 1.02 and 2.1 of the IE TCU tune for the DQ381 (OGC) DSG.

Hi Pete, New V2.0 TCU tune didn’t work that great for me. Probably you can try to see if the same thing happens to you. If I do rapidly release the accelerator when the gearbox is about to engage the next superior gear, there is a clunk from the gearbox that I can really feel just in the moment that the upper gear engages. This happens under heavy acceleration or even under medium acceleration. The higher the revolutions, the stronger the clunk. It seems that it is going to kill my engine and gearbox mounts. I’ve done a few DSG adaptations and that is not fixing the problem. I’m in contact now with IE service, trying to go back to V1.2 TCU tune. Another strange thing is that my IE app menu doesn’t show the option "DSG with or without auto up shifts in manual mode" as yours does. Probably the tune has some differences since my car is 2018 Golf R.

did you have to perform a DSG reset when you flashed the TCU tune?

Did you do the DSG adaption? I remember in the past whenever I did the DSG adaption on my 18R (via obdeleven) the transmission felt a lot better for around 50 miles and then went back to normal… hoping this isn’t the case here.

Have you been back to the track since TCU tune. Been thinking about IE software. I have APR stage 2 and it runs 11.80 full weight at 115+ . Was interested in the 104 octane Tune

you should of went up the hill on 91 to really show everyone in the video how it will down shift then almost immediately up shift. my car dose the same thing when I'm 1/4 throttle up hill it will randomly down shift like that

my car does the same I’ll be cruising in sport mode it will be in 4th gear and It will randomly downshift to 3rd for no reason. I dislike that about it a lot

hi bro, is it true that dsg fart disappears or becomes smaller when you tune tcu? Because of that, I'm debating whether to tune TCU or not.

Sigh I think there’s an issue with my transmission . Just got a 2018 golf r with 40k miles and it’s been pretty rough shifting up and down into 3rd gear. Figured maybe it was an issue with the previous ie tcu tune but even with this new one it’s not much better.

Do the adaptation first .. and then see if it’s having any issues If you can crackle tune take it off to test it out Hopefully they revise it and allow crackle in sport and no crackle in drive

If you have the ability to scan, see if you have any mechatronic faults. If you do, I am sorry in advance if you have to pay out of pocket.

@@thealiendfs if you can see faults with it. Not really referring to an other type of scan. However, if what he is feeling comes with other symptoms then I would get the car looked at. I don’t know if you can go into modules and stuff with the IIE one. Never used it.

@@McR45 ahh okay.. the new TCU tune + my lack of good mounts is most likely my issue. Drive Mode smooth shifts Sport mode the slop in the shifts are insane.

2020 s3 here, the mobile tcu tune doesn’t work for me, it fails and bricks the car and i have to flash back to stock and use a computer, just a heads up if anyone else has this issue

Just updated mine now Feels like improvement in plate pressure.. first launch the shift just hung up on a gear so that’s weird

@@jln3598 yeah, it did it before in the previous version but only in “S” Race mode But when I had it in Race and “Manual” mode auto upshift feels so much quicker and guess what no gear hanging… I find it hard to believe they don’t see this during R&D .. the shifts are a lot more aggressive now.. wish they made a in depth video what’s new vs the the old not just saying Pressure and something else because it feels way different

How much HP/NM does your car now have with Stage 1 ECU/TCU? I'm running the same softwares from APR since some weeks now and also really happy. It's, as you said several times, so snappy :D Really makes fun but on the other side the fuel consumption has significantly increased. Not a big deal coz fun costs but this is what I noticed. From ~7-8l/100km now at least 1-2 litres more. Really like your content, keep doing it! Cheers from Germany
