There is really no need. I also own a regular 9 Pro, the 100MHz on the CPU and +97 MHz on the GPU (ETA Prime got it wrong, the regular 8gen3 boosts its Adreno 750 to 903MHz in Diablo mode) are really not that noticeable. However, a mid-season refresh does make sense for new buyers coming from 4+ year old phones.
my OnePlus 6 is still as fast as the day I bought it. latest version of Android with lineage OS 21. tho the OnePlus 12r is looking too good right now 😂
@@PowerfulE just sold my f6 to buy this one (hasn’t arrived yet). My f6 was awesome but for some reason I didn’t understand when I played codm the touch seemed kinda awkward it was way better in my old f3. May it was my unit but ended up selling it.
When testing genshin impact next time it helps if you use an account with some progress there are some location that hits heavier then monstad (up to 2x performance loss on some devices)
I have the 9 pro, I think on paper they seem really good but they deteriorate over time, things like the cooler get dusty and less effective meaning your phone gets more hot. Yesterday mine went to 47°c in a totally normal gaming session first match,it was a bit hot outside but still it's unacceptable. Sometimes fps glitches on 60 fps while you have settings on 120,just causing lagg until you tab out and back in. Im gonna sit this one out and hopefully they get the 10pro some real upgrades because this 9S is hardly 10% better than the 9
@@AkiRalcolf Nice suggestion, but I already do that, even more than everyone else. I never take my phone outside of the house, I have a different phone for that. I had it 9 months and it didn't fall once, always on a safe spot. And it's my second model too, the other had the same issues. The phone was advertised as some device that will be as cool as a fridge, so yeah hopefully they fix these simple things on their new release.
I love these phones man we need to make these cooling systems a standard with things like 1440p HDR video playback and stuff like that going on I wouldn't mind my phone being a bit thicker if it means better cooling while gaming/gpu tense stuff
I'm curious to see how this will work for me from a non-gaming perspective. I am a heavy power user who is constantly snapchatting, texting, browsing, and watching RU-vid videos and my phone is constantly warm and hot. I need that fan system
Hi ETA Prime, firstly I really like the videos you make. They're very informative and helpful. I ran an issue on my 9S Pro, on console mode, the lower left menu is not there, but here in your video, it's there. A little help please?
Would love to see a more generic phone review of these phones. Comments about the Nubia software have been bad. Z60 Ultra is also get the same 8 Gen 3 3.4Ghz but a software experiance video would be nice.
Hell I am still waiting for the emulator video from the 9S that he mentioned he would do. ;) I am having issues so it would be helpful. 😊 Specifically with Dolphin. Controller delay is kiiling me.
Does the alt mode video out supports a refresh rate higher than 60hz on this device? 🤔 Does your monitor have an fps counter? I know the stats are at 120fps, but maybe it thinks that it's on the phone screen!
Bro can you test some PC games with emulators? Because it has the overclocked GPU with cooling fan. So, I am very curious to see the performance and how long it can maintain the performance. 🤔
Is Libretro ever going to fix the bug in retroarch that almost makes it almost impossible to maximize the screen in dex mode? The window buttons are invisible and you kind of have to guess where they are.
I use lemuroid for easy to run systems then for more difficult ones actual specific emulators. Retroarch is nice for large libraries especially on pc but if you want n64 or more difficult to run stuff to run well you need better specific emulators.
I'm curious, do emulation station launch commands work to fix that? Or are the launch commands just totally different on android, im not that knowledgeable about emulation station for Android but I am for the desktop version
Do we know the RAM speed? I am curious if all SD with the same chipset are locked to a specific clock speed or if there might be some u its which would run faster or slower memory. If so, like an APU, I have to imagine it would impact performance.
I wanted this phone but the vents are a huge reason why i didn't. I emulate on my phones so i badly wanted this. But because im in the military im constantly in not ideal elements. I had to "settle" with the S24 Ultra. Great video!
@@davidmccorvey103 Emulate means you can replicate consoles on your phone to play retro consoles. I have an old Android and I can play up to PS2 games with some difficulty. These newer phones can emulate Windows and play PC games like Skyrim
Is there a place for general ETA PRIME community chat (discord maybe?) ? I would love to discuss best of breed stuff with everyone. For example I have a pair of Viture Pro glasses and I'm trying to figure out the best current portable handheld to play PC games. In this case i don't care about screen quality.. i can never enjoy games on those tiny screens but isan asus or steamdeck still my best best? (Just an example topic)
The Ally X is seeming like the way to go. OLED steam deck cant dual boot, and can only do switch emulation under 2 hours, versus the Ally X's 3-4 hours (matching the real Switch when playing intense games)
Hello dear Eta prime, please add Box64droid for emulator and Farlight 86 and arena breakout to the list in your next tests on gaming Phones, thank you.
Hard to justify the cost for me at the moment but I will definitely be getting a gaming phone from these guys someday or else buying one from some one who is upgrading or no longer wants it.
Hey ETA when you show off android games can you test a game call Combat Master, its a call of duty clone but has a ton of graphic settings just like a full PC game.. it can really push these gaming phones hard
@@kevinkev1530 Smiley face with sweat dripping down? Made it seem like you were jokingly nervous about replaceing a phones google stuff with alternatives.
@@lemurtheory9350Replacing Google stuff meaning the Dialer, Messaging, Photos or..... just the pre-installed Google bloat ? Just wanted to know if you could remove the dialer and messaging app without root.
They should start to engineer a way for the power system to bypass the batter, especially for the desktop mode. The wear on that huge charging wattage might be a problem in the future.
To me, this phone is much much better than the samsung note s24 ultra. Its unique, its very nice looking, has cooling fans and top end specs, come with cable and charger. So much to like, plus a much more favorable price.
I don't care about anything I just watched. I just wish many phones have the same screen - no cutout and no super rounded corners which takes away more usable space 😄
You can find it by just searching "phone dock with hdmi." However unless you're very interested in all of the IO that dock provides, I would suggest looking into Skull & Co's Jumpgate dock. It's about the same price, but it can double as a switch dock.
Can you stream full screen from GeForce Now app? I guess for android it supports 1440P up to 120 Hz. Will it be full screen or with black bars if I use console mode to stream on a 2K 120Hz monitor?
I'm so pissed off. I bought the Red Magic 9 when you showed it plugged into your monitor via USB C and working. Mine just won't do it. I used the same cable on my ASUS ROG Phone 2 and it worked perfectly with my touch screen monitor. If anyone reads this and can help, I would highly appreciate it. Great phone with just this one annoying problem.
I think this phone is more for people who are interested and wanted a Red magic phone but wanted to wait for the best version of it basically a iphone 15 pro max and not a iphone 15 pro to compare the difference
I have the snowfall version been using it for a while and its so great but cause im not really a "gamer" so dont ask me such things and if you asking why i buy it its because i like gamer stuff 😅
Could you test Hades on a Switch emulator? I was able to get decent performance on my s22 Ultra if I turned the framerate down to 30fps and put my phone directly in front of a fan
I hope shortly we can build our own phones just like regular desktops. Pointless watching gaming phones as they all depend on the same CPU which is stupid.
It's the most powerful Android phone for gaming with an active cooling tech, who wouldn't love this series? Except for the people who don't game at all!
The red magic 9 pro is the best gaming phone ive ever had even compared to my s23 ultra which has way better software but in gaming my red magic is in a league of its own. I was able to beat Mario Oddyseey, Pokemon Shining pearl, and play DBZ Kakarot, Witcher 3. Zelda TOTK at 60 fps due to my red magic which my tab s8 can't even run some of those games well unbelievable performance
Mine doesn't have a SD slot. Maybe since this is a top end phone maybe somehow fit a mini nvme slot for even faster storage and cheaper. SD cards are getting high capacity now. 512gb space is plenty of space. Seems like i get different brands all the time. The TV mode on mine shows bars top and bottom. IDK Samsung after a year act weird on me. Maybe working conditions. Until i get another. Maybe not for a long time.
@@zyenxd2546 Oh it's very possible but it would put you in a very disadvantage position because most meta champions or characters are always depending on high execution's mechanically wise or heavily depending on skill-shots so using a right or left stick from a controller to land a skill-shot would be horrible in any mobile moba's. You might be able to get away with it at low elo or casual level but at high elo? Nah man, no chance.
I am in china right now and looking to buy one , but does it come with option to enable google play services ? Or will i have to wait for international model
@@Frank-os6gq I'd say the big advantage of the Red Magic over the Samsung is the selfie camera hidden behind the screen but Samsung probably wins with a longer Android support...

This a sponsor video? Every smartphone nowadays is a "Powerful Game & EMU Console"
I keep seeing US people all over reddit & reviews claiming to have connection issues with Cellular data, & dropped calls. Since its a chinese phone. Gaming is great & all but i still need it to be a phone 😂 smh almost a deal breaker at this point its all the negative reviews. Mostly ATT which is just fantastic cause thats who i use 😡 anybody got these issues? Cause im nervous might get S23fe instead
@@KP-ky1sn Usually blowers won't be able to remove dust that has built up deep inside the fan port cavity, and will eventually cause overheating issues in my experience. Most laptops nowadays have a way to remove the back panel to access this area to allow it to be cleaned. Just wondering if this phone had a similar solution.
