So, for the price of $25 compared to well... pretty much every other game of this type. It's just not even remotely worth it in it's current early access state. However, it has been added to my wishlist so that I can catch it on sale AND I can keep tabs on it when it's further in development. Thanks as always sharky!

To tag along with this, some of the friends I have that bought this game (because they never learn on Early Access) found that there are quests right in the start for NPC's that aren't even in the game yet.

@@hammerify7431 Sometimes it is good to get in during early access though as on release the game MAY be MORE expensive, a la Ark: Survival Evolved! I was glad I got on the E.A. elevator for that game after I found out about the price hike, other were REALLY REALLY upset, to say the least!

i’ve been playing for a little over 10 hrs. the farming aspect of the game itself is incredibly fun. There’s still a lot of content in the game

I understand, 25 is a pretty big demand for an early access but I have to say it has a lot of potential. I recently bought it and I was pleasantly surprised. There's a lot of things to do already, tons of npc and gorgeous graphics. Any Starew or Graveyard keeper fan we'll be right at home with this one. I do have one complaint tho: I'm playing it on Mac and my laptop (it's a recent one) overheats like crazy when I play it, I don't know why. I had never had this before. It is unpleasant so hopefully it will change soon with the updates. Has this happened to any of you guys ? It's also a bit buggy at times. My guess is that because the Mac version released recently it's still buggy. So yeah, little warning if you're a Mac user. I'm still please with my purchased and I'm looking forward for the next updates and launch.

When you charge 30 bucks for an early access you are open to critics. You cant charge a full game price and not deserve critics.

About the price in the USA... I checked on steam and the price of the game there is $24.99. For comparison: Stardew Valley is currently on sale for $8.99 (from it's regular price of $14.99), and "Hokko Life" (early access) is $19.99, so it's more expensive than other games in this genre. So there's your info on that.

Would like to see a full play through of the content available. I know there are two “towns” you can explore but not play in until full release so their seems to be a low risk of being “spoiled”

I’m going to say something as a backer for the Kickstarter, this game is worth it. They are constantly developing the game, so yes, the price is steep, but this game is going to grow. I can say they have more areas they want to develop and they can’t do it without support. My friends and I enjoy this game thoroughly and I can’t wait to see you, sharky, play more.

@@rhubaruth Serena never claimed it was. Also, she pretty much explained why she thinks its worth it for her. She doesn't know you, she doesn't know your financial condition or the way you think. Neither do I. As such, you have to make that decision on your own.

@@rhubaruth That goes against the whole point of what these games stand for though. It's an adventure and story for you to experience and develop yourself. Reading the description of the game on its steampage would already give you the basic info that all other games in its same genre give. Hell, the RPG aspect goes beyond what I've seen in games like stardew, animal crossing, etc. It's an entirely new experience while still keeping the "farming" aspect that we all know and love. I believe this game will continue to develop greatly and that this is merely the beginning. (Even then, the beginning has a lot of content to offer that doesn't make it fully feel like an incomplete game) Make the decision yourself to buy. But if you wanna ask for info that "makes it worth". Come on man, just open your eyes and you can see content that keeps the genre at its core yet has it's own standpoint.

I played for a bit today… I love the concept, I love that it’s medieval and I think it has tons of room to grow. With that being said as a huge RPG fan, if you haven’t played littlewood I would play that until this is more polished. It has a lot of potential, but I feel like it’ll be a quick burn out. It is early access so that comes with its faults. I think it’ll be an amazing game… just not yet.

early access is essentially a nonfinalized version of the game that CAN be played, but may have bugs/unfinished aspects. basically the main mechanics are available, but there will be changes as the developers finish things up. i’m also really tempted to get this for myself!

early access is basically them selling you a buggy, unfinished mess for full price. Wouldn't recommend playing early access titles, been burned too many times.

I must be the odd one out here regarding the price. This would be $28 in dollars which is low for the number of hours I could sink into a game like this. I look at it compared to other entertainment. This price would be the price of 4 hours of movies or 2 paperbacks. Then I think about how much it cost to make it. It's a beautiful looking and activity filled game. Not barren like many indie and not-so-indie games. Then I think about how much I will like the game. Probably a lot! So $28 to me is more than reasonable to gamble on, especially since I've paid $60 for many a game I ended up feeling neutral about or actually disliked. Thanks Sharky, hope you get your pet shark soon!

It's actually just about 21€ for me, which isn't high (Stardew Valley was about 20 when I bought it). It's definitely not a high price for game I'll sink hours upon hours into.

I think my only complaint at the moment is the lack of menu sound effects. No sounds play when you click a menu button or progress dialogue ... I know it sounds like a minor complaint, but without them the game sounds unusually quiet.

That price point is why I'm holding off on getting the game. It's interesting but that is steep. Not ready to pay that much without knowing more about it. I think if they had the price under $20, they would have more immediate sales. I'm not the only person in my Discord gaming group that has said the same.

I have already spent 40 hours in-game and I only just finished the current questlines and romancing all the dateable characters. What we need to keep in mind is that there are essentially 3 towns (Sun Haven, Nel'Vari, and Withergate) each with its own characters and quest lines, while Stardew Valley only had 1 town which is smaller. That's just my opinion though, I tend to look at how much gameplay there is in relation to the price. Even for an early access game it's pretty good. So fortunate to be a South African, this sells at full price for R150 in my country which converts to about $10! Still, I'd pay the full price ($25?) for this.

It looks interesting. The tool animation is a bit too slow for me. I hope that it improves and eventually comes to switch. I'm playing Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town at the moment. It improved so much since the recent update.

I get it some are going to wait because the price is steep but there's a reason for that I think perhaps the cost to pay its workers and where there base out of idk . But I bought this game at this price of $25 and I'm happy even thou it's very early access . I'm finding it fun I've played for four hours and I still haven't left the first town. I'm loveing the magical farming aspect . Like a spell to till the ground for me or summon a rain cloud to water my crops . The big vacuum spell to mine with I enjoy it . I can't wait till they added more and they will I'm sure of it .

This game is gorgeous. The only issue I have so far is the animations/movements seem very slow compared to Stardew. Maybe it'll get faster as they develop it.

Ah this game is cute and fun so far but I'm having problems with the fact that it doesn't pause when in menu. I can't figure out how to pause if I need to step away Edit:I would love to see you do a playthrough! I think the game isn't very finished yet though

I love the way the game looks and the character designs are great. Being a Nintendo fan, I'm used to giving up a lot of money for something that probably not worth it. However, the action animations are so darn slow!! I could not deal with hitting a single tree for 30 seconds lol

The game looks great and seems like it has a good foundation. Probably won't play it until it's actually released though. However, I think the one thing I don't care for that much is the character sprites. The portraits are great, but I don't care for the actually models walking around. Seems like it's done with a sorta chibi style in mind and I don't really care for that style.

Your character looks like Baby Wolverine. So cute, LOL. The game looks like a prettier Stardew, which is fine I guess. Might be worth $25 when it's done but I wouldn't pay that for an unfinished game. It says it will be in early access for only 6 months and I don't see how they will finish in that time unless it remains a very short game.
