As someone who struggles with a chronic illness that leads me to be super heat sensitive/overheats really easily this is a dream come true. I imagine it would be great for hot flashes too. Definitely some medical uses!

2nd use. Outdoors it was ineffective. Indoors, I’m testing it without my A/C and it’s not bad. There are other fans without the cooling plate that blow stronger air at a fraction of the cost, however. This is overpriced for what it delivers. Pricing is in that packaging and design.

Back to old days. I missed it when Lew reviewed products like these

I love mines. I have the cheaper version but it works great!! I use for work because I'm a welder and I play with fire 25/8 so I makes my work shift easy

I bought this gadget based on this review and I can safely say don't waste your money...number 1 reason is the battery life. There are 3 wind settings, 1 being the lowest and 3 the highest speed. At level 1 you may get about 3-4 hours...that speed is useless for cooling you off. The higher you go, the worse it gets in terms of the battery. And the death nail is the cooling plate, if you activate that you get about 1-hour period. To charge the device back up, it will take 3 hours. Save your money and get one of the $30-50 neck fans.

I suffer from multiple sclerosis and the heat/summer months are just awful for myself and most of the people I know in the MS community. I’ll definitely check this out. I know people would buy multiples if it means not having to stop walking or having insane fatigue just because of the heat.

This particular unboxing needed a field trip OUTSIDE the studio. It works indoors but fails to deliver in the summer heat. In fact, it feels like it is blowing hot air while the cooling plate gets slightly cooler. It does a really good job of cooling from the indoors. If I'm sweating outside and step indoors with it on, it chills me out a lot faster. When outdoors, I wish the fan would be more powerful. I would save money by going more low-tech. If money is no issue, it's a cool-looking gadget to have.

My brother watched this video and foolishly decided to buy this product without any simple research. They claim that the thermoelectric piece in the back uses a "Ku Peltier". They added the word Ku to make it somehow seem that it is more than a $5 piece sold on ebay. They go by Peltier, Thermoelectric Coolers (TEC) and other names. "Adopting a 5000 rmp dual-core high-speed motor design, 60 enlarged fan blades collect the wind, and 36 expanded wind outlets increase the wind speed by 214%." Ignoring rmp as a simple mistype, "dual-core high speed motor" is random words to trick the ignorant. "60 enlarged fan blades" is funny who they say bladeless but then lie about the amount and size of the blades it actually have. There are about 6 tiny beard catching blades on each side which is very loud on high. This thing will run out of power in about 1 and a half hours on high while the TEC activated. After a few seconds of wearing, your body gets used to the cool plate and completely ignore the fact that it's there. As for cooling, it will take exponentially more BTUs to lower your body temperature than this provides. If feels decent if your face is sweaty and you turn the fan on high. The evaporative cooling of your sweat will make you feel cooler for a bit. If you aren't sweating heavily, you will only feel hot air. A TEC running at 3.7 volts nominal will not cool anything worth mentioning. Spending $150 on a pointless feature is a complete waste of money. You are paying a steep premium for the TEC module when it provides no benefits outside of a few seconds of when you first put it on. Just get the fan only model if you sweat a lot.

This looks perfect for someone who has hyperhidrosis. I sweat literally all the time, with minimal physical activity too. It's absolute hell

The guy with the hoodie made a lot of sense, as the air would circulate within the clothing and not get lost in the outside air. If his hoodie had been insulated, all the better. I hope we will see more personalized cooling gadgets and clothing as our world seems to be heating up more each summer, and with downed power grids and rolling blackouts, it will be a medical necessity for some to have one or more of these. I hope they don't turn them into medical devices, because if they do, the price will shoot up to over $700 instead of $149. How long does it take to charge? Does it charge out of the wall, or does it have it's own charging station?

Imagine if this could play music, they would be the perfect device for working in the hot sun. You'd be keeping cool and listening to music

I was quite surprised that wearable gadgets like these aren't more prevalent out there. basically only Headphones and Smartwatch are what's accepted as a norm.

So I have very northern European blood in me and grew up in Montana, so I do way better in the cold than the heat. Working as a retail pharmacist doesn't seem like a high-heat job, but between the formal attire, smock, and constantly moving around at 110% speed, I have often found myself sweating like I have a tropical disease, which is not ideal when counseling patients or giving vaccines. I have a tiny desk fan that sits at my station and has been a lifesaver, but when filling prescriptions and doing other tasks away from my fan, I quickly heat up. This kind of thing would be perfect for my needs!

The problem with these is that it’s dangerous for your veins because they are placed around the veins that connect to the brain And the problem with it is that when you are feeling hot the veins expand and become larger allowing more blood to flow through and when you are cold, veins shrink and become smaller and there’s the problem, imagine being hot around your chest which veins are large then you put this gadget on and the veins around your neck that connect to the brain become smaller then it would be hard for blood to flow through because the veins down are big and up there is small so an amount of blood would be pumped according to how large the vein is under but then it reaches the small veins (which are around your neck) then the small vein wouldn’t be able to handle much blood being pumped through and maybe explode which might cause you to be disabled, you might not be able to control your arms and other body parts for the rest of your life and that’s that.

One can not create or destroy energy. One can only spend energy to move or transform energy. I think this device makes its surrounding air warmer, in which case you'd want the device to be well ventilated. Don't wrap it in a hoodie like Kirk did at 12:03.

this is NOT new tech. I purchased a similar neck cooling fan from Sharper Image over 20 years ago! It still works. You put a small amount of water in the sides and it has the fans, etc. I sometimes put it in the freezer for a few minutes, before using it on a hot summer day when I am mowing the lawn, etc.. And since it uses alkaline batteries, it still works AND if it is an item I use intermittently like this, there is no need to wait to charge it (I just swap the batteries as needed and I buy batteries in bulk so they are cheaper then ANY lithium product). That is why I still purchase items that use alkaline batteries, especially if they have a small motor (electric shaver, dental water pik), more convenient AND better performance then lithium powered units.

Nice, try it outside on a sunny hot day. before you go out and the turn it off and you get hot being in the sun and then turn it back on, that's to see if it can cool you down.

there are Pellitier circuits that are the same as what they put in 12-24 volt auto power supply coolers. BUT those are real power hogs. If they did it and made it work with even 2 hours on a charge I'm tempted. I would rather build one myself depending on cost. Thank you for reviewing this product. I have become beyond skeptical on any ads that claim anything. I wouldn't mind even carrying an extra 12 volt battery hooked on my belt clip.

When u overheat as a child my mom always put a cold wet washcloth on the back of my neck, which helps dramatically.
