As someone who feels uncomfortable without a slight breeze or air flow, this would make being in a area like a cave more tolerable and less claustrophobic which would be nice since I'm a 6ft 4in 350lb guy. I can see someone making a replacement strap that you could rig 2 of these things together and have one in the back and one in the front.
@@JTguitarlessonsway to assume about someone else's life based on nothing Also how do you know they are unhealthy. They might be big and perfectly healthy You know the 2020 summer Olympic winner for mens weightlifting is 400 pounds. Would you say hes unhealthy?
Thank You for another great review .Being a fan of you and your RU-vid channel for quite sometime I don't always leave a comment on how much I appreciate and entertained I am by your show. Don't ever stop doing what you do. Thanks Again
Knowing the components used to construct this, I can confidently say there's no justification for a $130 (or $180 for the neck fan) price. Fans are pretty loud on high. I also imagine that wearing it under the shirt will restrict airflow and put more stress on the fans. Thanks for the review as always
Vegas doesn’t have the humidity like here in the South (I’m in NC) so wondering if it would be effective with very Hugh humidity!! I don’t think I’d be a happy camper with something hanging around my waist (or on my neck like, the neck fan) and way too expensive!!!!!!
Hi James, Thank you once again for such a brilliant review. I have the Koolify 2 neck fan as you do and love it apart from the horrible battery life. This new device is interesting to me but I would never buy it at that price. Perhaps £50 and I would give it a try. That is even if it comes to the UK.
If you wear it up high, like at the end, and anyone gives you a funny look about what's going on in your shirt? Just tell them it's an ARC reactor you made in the desert, with a box of scraps.
Fantastic and thank you. As a Vegas resident I'm always looking for creative ideas to keep cool. This gives me ideas possibly for the future ( the neck fan). As usual the budget is the ultimate decision maker.
I am happy with my under $20 rechargeable small clip on fan where I can clip it onto my belt and it works just fine. It also comes with a strap for me to wear it around my neck too ☺️
I think this would be great for VR. Since some people get motion sickness and a fan blowing on them helps. Myself included. Slowly getting my VR legs though.
“Phase change” lmao I love stupid marketing tactics. If it was actual “phase change material” it would require a giant radiator, compressor, thousand watts of power, etc. I wonder what material it actually is
Dang James, you're batting zero lately. I know that ppl love their neck fan, but this one I just can't see making a big hit. Especially at this price. Have a wonderful, fun, and safe holiday. 🤗
@@myrealnameisjohndoe116 Ya price is redonk, I think it's due to the technology used with the cooling plates and it being expensive to implement. If this can stop me from being a uncomfortable, sweat factory it's well worth it imo.
Wake me when they finally come out with a Mr. Freeze cooling suit. By the way, they have welding masks that actually cool your face. I rather wear that even if it would look strange, at least it would actually be useful.
it's already been done for a very long time in motorsports like Nascar, they wear a shirt under their firesuit that has water tubes snaking all around it that goto a small cooler full of ice cold water with a low voltage pump, and then their helmets have a hookup for a forced air duct that brings in filtered fresh air from outside the car, and all of it has quick disconnects incase of an accident. Richard Petty was the one who helped invent some of the first ones, and to test them out in actual races.
@@ramdom_assortment Dang YT deleting my comment!! Yeah just do a simple Google search they will come up under "FAST Cooling - Cool Suit System", but they cost about as much as a used Macbook for an entire shirt, tube, pump, and cooler setup. One of my brothers use to race Legends midget cars in the 00's, and has one, but no forced air helmet.
I assume it uses Peltier units which have a hot side and a cold side. They are inefficient as a rule and produce a lot more heat than they do cooling. So where does the heat go??
I can guarantee you that women of a certain age (yes I am talking about myself) would really like that. The neck fan has really helped and honestly something that you can wear under your girls would help even more. So darn you I'm going to have to buy something else that you reviewed
Has anybody seen that ad that's floating around for the other version of this belt that has 2 pieces instead of 1. Also they pieces have 4 fans each instead of 2 as seen here. It's supposedly made by torras as well but I can't find that product being sold on torras website. Is it a bogus scam item?
3:07 Nice doggy.🐕 🐶 ☺ What where you saying?... Oh I prefer to walk around with my home AC on a little wagon dude. Sometimes I would have my Home AC sticking out my car window too. It's bulky but it works. 😌👍💯
I like the idea of circulating air under your shirt to capitalize on cooling sweaty skin but it needs better execution. Maybe if it was more like a neck fan that reaches into your shirt it would work better and look less questionable.
I would have though cooling the small of the back would have been a better option... Looking forward to you reviewing the TORRAS COOLIFY 3...is it really worth $300...I'm in the UK and want to pull the trigger on this...maybe...
Where's the other half? I live in China and became friends with an employee by purchasing 4 neck fans. My body fan has two, a front and a back, all for $50.00 USD. ;-)
This kind of thing might be useful for a cosplayer..IF they're not fat. Some of those fursuits can boil you for dinner if you didn't know. But that's still TOO expensive!
Neck Air Conditioner: This product, to be precise, should be a useless product except the fan. One question, do you turn on the air conditioner and open the doors and windows at the same time? Obviously not! This is equivalent to turn on the air conditioner under thousands of watts of solar heat, which is obviously very unsuitable for outdoor use and ridiculous. Once it reaches 91.4 F, the ambient temperature will be directed back into the machine through the iron pieces, This will cause the wind it blows out to be hot air. The wind making you even hotter. This is the principle of Physics, so the design of product is useless from the beginning. Product maker should know the Physics well first. And this product is very heavy. You have to carry it when the battery is out, which is a burden.
I’ve looked into a bunch of these and they’re ALL designed to primarily wear on the lower back. That keeps the unit out of the way and safe and cools your back that is usually getting most of the direct sunlight. They include a neck lanyard of you want to wear it in the front. And they all have clips to hold your shirt tail so it doesn’t cover the intake. Seems like you didn’t do enough research before posting this review. Maybe try it the recommended way and post another review?
The neck fan I have it sucks honestly. I bought it for golf and it actually makes you hotter lol. It’s annoying and noisy too just around your neck. Now I’m looking for something better and these belt fans are the new thing
All I can think of is this guy must have a huge disposable income. He must be making money hand over fist that he can afford to buy all these crazy inventions? It's interesting but I wouldn't spend $130 on a fan for inside the house let alone one to wear around my waist.
I was hoping for better results. Seems like an interesting gadget, but the cons of the phase change material not having staying power and the awkward bulge under your shirt, doesn't seem like it is worth it. I bet it would work better with looser fitting clothes though.
You shouldn't have to change up your wardrobe for a fan, especially at $130. Plus you would just look like a flag with legs waking around. If you were to wear an oversized shirt.
@@HeyThatWeirdGuy I do feel it's way overpriced, but he confirmed that it does work. But if he wanted better results, he should have tried wearing a looser shirt.
@@HeyThatWeirdGuy "...a flag with legs waking around." 😂 Very funny! I mean, he could try going up just one size, lol. I don't think that would be too bad actually. He'd probably still look good since he wears his clothes snug anyway. I like the idea by @TheoTheLeo regarding the Hawaiian shirt. A loose button down might work well with that device. Nevertheless, I don't think much will disguise that unsightly bulge. Maybe if he put it at his waist and put a fanny pack OVER it, but that would probably compromise its effectiveness. 🤷🏻♂
The real issue is that the air intake is also under your shirt. If you wore that at belly button to waist height, and somehow had an air intake outside the shirt, it would absolutely balloon out your shirt with the amount of air flow.
Worn over the shirt it looks like a fanny pack, and worn under it looks like you have a serious medical condition... I would have to be pretty desperate to want to wear that thing. Luckily, I don't live in a desert. Great review as always!
If I was a desert dweller like you, I would get this, but I live in the very humid South, and it would do me no good with the high humidity.....the same way you folks can use water coolers instead of real air conditioning. Water coolers do not work well in high humidity!
I didn’t know something like this existed. But I think it prints pretty terribly and other people will think you have a medical device on you or something
Do you or anyone else thing either the waist model or the neck model would help keep bugs off the face? In Georgia the bugs are as annoying as the heat flying up your nose and in your ears. I want a fan to both cool and blow away the bugs.
Thank you for another well done, thorough review. :D Seems a bit expensive for what it is. I don't know why but watching the video I kept wondering, how well does the "neck fan" work of you have a "neck beard". Not that I have one or anything...I'm asking for a friend. LOL 😆🤣😂
I have a decent neck fan but that waist fan looks good. Expensive but I’ll get it someday. Hope it helps with my heat intolerance issue during the summer
I have the Zone and all versions of their COOLIFY neck fans/heaters. I find that the Zone just sucks up my shirt if underneath so I wear it over my shirt on my chest. As a first gen, I expect better versions in the future.
Great product to improve on over time...who AMONG us hasn't been guilty of standing over an A/C vent letting it blow under our shirts or lifted our shirt over a fan to get the air? I do have ONE issue....maintains 77, stops you from sweating? I sweat at 75🤣
