The "as it does not speak, no one has been able to learn anything about it" is so weirdly interesting. It kinda implies that unlike Pokemon where the dex entries are made by researchers, in Digimon the Digimon themselves just straight up tell us stuff about themselves
@@Karn_EX Which seems less reliable? A ten year old describing a pokemon or a Digimon describing *itself?* jk Trainer: "My Charizard can meltl stone!" SkullGreymon: "I have the power of a nuclear warhead."
Maybe the app-link tail is a hint that Maquinamon is going to digivolve by combining with others of its kind. We already know that there are several of these out there, so it’s definitely possible
Also fun fact! Dimetrodom, the creature Dimetromon is based on is not really a dinosaur but a mammal related more to us that dinosaurs! Like the "platypus" of the prehistoric world!
The column section is pretty damn rad I love it. The article about 'bugs' in the game was super cool, it had some deep-deep lore about an issue where Leomon decks would suddenly have Cyclonemon cards added in as a "bug" but it's a deep-ass reference to how Cyclonemon hates the heck out of Leomon and is always hunting it down.
It's highly possible that Digimon and Appmon were always sister species to each other. With Appmon being the younger sibling and having came into existence via the apps which we as humans use/make. After all, both the human world and digital world can influence each other in many ways. So the creation of Appmon could have been due to that connection. Which makes Maquinamon an extremely new species born from that same connection. With it pretty much following instincts and will gain the ability to both reason and speak.
i mean, it always been clear that Appmon were a subspecies/Sister species to Digimon, there is a reason why their series had the tagline ''Digimon Universe''
Maquinamon is definitely some sort of hybrid in some capacity. And DCG is a hungry beast that wants more material to work with - there is 0 chance that Bandai aren't looking to incorporate Appmon into the game, but it seems they're choosing to do so by building it into the story, rather than just having Appmon appear.
Not a Digimon player, but Yu-Gi-Oh did a similar thing with ranks and levels with the Xyz monsters introduced. If they do go that route it's a really simple title change but overall gameplay doesn't change so can totally see it working
"Appmon aren’t Digimon". ...now I'm wondering what their fate will be in the next story game. Cause they said they want every Digimon, but what will they do with the Appmon?
It would be interesting to see if perhaps Makina was altered by someone trying to revive it, and the method used would be to introduce Digimon data into it like a blood transfusion. Perhaps Makinamon's Beast side could be it combined with "Nature Spirits" Data, and it could look different if given "Dragon's Roar", "Metal Empire", or "Nightmare Soldiers" data? It just seems that every time we get a mysterious digimon like Deathmon, Snatchmon, Aegiomon, etc. we are given a chance to see what it looks like with different sets of data in it.
I mean, Digimon can Biomerge/Matrix Evolve with humans, and in the Xros Wars manga, Humans can even be a component of DigiXros. Anyway, the point I will eventually get to is Digimon can combine with non-Digimon species, there’s no reason they couldn’t combine with Appmon, right?
Digimon Liberator has honestly been the best thing to happen to Digimon in YEARS. When first announced, everyone was highly cautious with it being a web comic and novel, after seeing how Seekers was handled. But the quality of the comic and stories, as well as all the brand new Digimons they've brought in has been amazing! What will be interesting to see with this new reveal is just how they will incorporate these new beings and appmon into the card game as a whole mechanically.
I am actually working on a digimon fan fiction where the main kids are partnered woth legend arms digimon, but also appmon that can turn into regular digimon.
I love that the Digital World is expanding, and revealing more creatures that aren’t Digimon. It’s almost like they’re other programs being downloaded or added to a computer system. It’s really interesting and cool!
So hear me out, you were saying that maquinamon may be created through human interference, but I don't think that's the case. What I think it is is an appmon digimon hybrid that represents an app that is cross platform. Games like minecraft, fortnite, call of duty, hearthstone, etc. Games that are apps (appmon) but also exist as actual PC games (digimon). It is the crossover, the missing link between the two.
Human Interference still seems likely - Companies have to specifically Design their Games with the intent to make them Cross-Platform Compatible, which would translate here as some Lacunans experimenting on Digimon in Secret to merge them with these Appmon-like Artificial Programs, effectively creating their own take on Appmon. The escape of the Maquinamon threatens the Secrecy of this Operation, which is why they're so desperate to retrieve them before they can inform the People and Digimon of the Scheme...
I think this ties into the idea presented in Cyber Sleuth that Digimon can be used as Computer Programs. So basically Digimon are PC operating system based, while Appmon are Android operating system based. They also exist in a separate realm as Appmon are AR lifeforms instead of physical or digital.
We already know that the wild digimon of Lacuna can’t exist outside of the cards/programs from the web novel. My idea is that Maquinamon is a digimon that merged with the “empty” or “dead” Makina that are in Lacuna as a way to survive. Seeing as the programs go out of control when digimon merge with them, this could be a middle ground that some digimon figured out.
The Mega Man X fan in me instantly jumped to the possibility of Maquinamon being victims of an infection which is spreading to other Digimon and rewriting their code until they become partly robotic. In that sense, Makina the robot may be a manifestation of the pathogen. My guess is that Makina may be an appmon-like digital lifeform with the capability to parasitize other digital lifeforms and corrupt their code, and the result of this corruption is Maquinamon
Yo this Digimon is ABSOLUTELY a Gatomon variant. The Spanish wordplay? Striped cat tail and duotone ears? Same body type. Yeah, its a stretch, but one that could open up so much potential for evolutions, given that Gatomon line digimon usually evolve into either holy or deity Digimon. Anytime we get a Gatomon variant story, it tends to turn very dark. And then Appmon mixed in? Oh yes, I'm pumped, if a little spooked!! 👻👾
Yay! I'm first and in the (empty?) comment section! Also once again Happy Spooktober Spectacular muwahahahahah >:) With a nice funny intro as always. Alright Wiliam Afton's new digimon's jokes go in the reply section pls... And yes! It's mostly an Appmon for me! Or maybe a mysterious new digimon or entity all together, but let's wait for our thoughts to get confirmed/debunked!
I love Appmon, but I am not getting my hopes up 😭 Maquinamon is cool, but I just dont know if there's enough evidence yet. I want Appmon in the TCG soooo much, but Bandai hates fun
Fair! Honestly if they didn't also add ALL of the Appmon to the website I'd be less inclined to get hype but I truly don't think we're far from Appmon cards.
Appmon was neat but I could never get into them. Gave the anime a try for about 30 eps when I had a very free weekend but I was still not interested by the end. Might be the fact I hate apps in general.
Appmon should just be a subspecies of digimon who use Jogress as the main evolution method, there is no reason to not make them such. -the game largely was a flop, so its salvaging failed work -the fans of appmon(yes those exist) get to enjoy them again and be more a part of the fandom -it solves some evolution issues -it will make money for Bandai
Don't wanna be a complete doomer, but I think the applink cables might just be a normal Digimon design element now. Just like belts and veins have been for a while... I still have hope tho 😭
Yeah definitely possible, but as I say in the video Bandai aren't dumb, they know what people think when they see those, and including them with zero Appmon connect is so cruel lol
If you can go from your phone to your switch, to your computer to watch RU-vid. Or use pokemon home on your switch and do other parts of the game on your phone. It is 100 possible for digimon and appmon to exist in the same world or having a half half creature like Cyborg from Teen Titans. I always thought appmon were digimon, just never really crossed with other seasons because the world was different.
@@carlosblanco5975 not really. Im talking about a natural Level. Not like temporarliy Fusion or something. You know a Hybrid Born from a Digimon and Human.
I don't see why App links would prevent Appmon from just being regular Digimon. Like Digimon have always had unique styles of evolution in every series and the App links just seem like that kind of thing. The real issue is that there are Appmon who share names with Digimon but are obviously entirely different species and not variants of those same monsters. Of course this problem is also easily solved. I mean there and G.I. Joes who share names with Transformers and they've always existed in the same universe.
I think the most interesting thing they could do is shake up the existing 6 attribute wheel we've had since the beginning. We have had "Data, Virus, Vaccine, Free, Variable and Unknown" for a while. I think adding one that is just "Application" that works inbetween to data and free. And then you make it so that the "Application" attribute can only integrate with "regular" Digimon by going through a "hybrid" state like Machinamon. If you think in terms of other card games, I think they could work like artifacts in Magic, or colorless/mysterious fossil in Pokémon. Something that might start as an equipment or resource of sorts that then has the ability to go beyond or interact in a different way. Personally, I'd love to see Appmon back in a bigger, more reckognized aspect, but I'm scared of the way they'll do it, because it has the room to be really messy. A bunch of Appmon share names with other Digimon, and it could get confusing quick; and to keep introducing "other kinds of digital life forms" is cool for world building, but it's bad for your monster collecting game, because you're not usually given the chance to catch the things that aren't the main collectible.
Maquina is actually a latin word. Portuguese and spanish are latin languagues, so they inherit it. Maquina is the root of "machine" in english as well.
No, machina is the Latin word. Maquina is the specific Spanish/Portuguese derivative which is why I discussed it for the etymology of Maquinamon. I also discuss them sharing a root word later :)
I personally don’t like appmon and want it to be its own thing. As for liberator, I really am liking the story so far and hope it gets an anime adaptation!
I would love if you were right about this, I love when they make digital life forms that aren't Digimon, it expands the world so well. For one of these life forms be to connect 2 worlds world be amazing to see!
I've personally never understood why people are so against appmon being folded into digimon based off their digivolution method. I've never seen people complain about having exveemon digivolve into paildramon without needing stingmon, or greymon 2010 digivolve into metalgreymon 2010 without digixros, so why should applink be any different?
Kinda true. There Was so much Potential if the Story would be better. None of the Villain Digimon returned even if they always said they would take Revenge. Wasted Potential especially with Villains coming back and help make the Story better.
Hey Karn, did you know? Gatchmon recently made a cameo appearance in the first chapter of the Digimon Rikollection webcomic alongside Pulsemon, Herissmon and Loogamon!
yeah this sounds really bad. i hope they dont go this route. im already getting bored with the story. a recycled failed gimmick isnt going to do it any favors. i loved gaiamon, hadesmon, poseidomon, and ouranosmon, but i hated the convoluted way they evolved. just make them evolve like normal digimon and be done with it. i dont want a whole other "species" tacked on the side.
I hate the fact that in general there are many people in Japan involved into creating more ai and nft stuff around various franchises, on some art sites ai art seems also to be popular sadly
