Man...I didn't see that coming to be honest. I mean that spotlight pt.2...Again thanks so much man! You can't imagine how much I appreciate this! Let me add here that in the begging, I was more into posting stuff I was practicing but lately I'm only posting play alongs and random beats. The only goal with these posts is to kinda represent myself...I mean there are guys, fellow musicians here in Greece that have reached out to me telling me they like what I do and you know that could lead to a new collaboration or a new student...So yeah, basically I'm using the - let's say - power of social media to kinda show what I do/like.
Happy to do it my man. What you’ve been doing is such a clear is example of what one can accomplish when you set goals and go after them. Filming those goals holds you accountable and also makes you strive to be better. Thank you for being a great example for all of us! 🙌🏼
Absolutely fantastic, Nikos! Stanton this is so cool showing you're not only a great player but also a great teacher! I need to check out and join SMDA!
Thaks for checking out my friend! Stanton is definitely THE man...Huge impact on me both on music and life! And yes, you should check SMDA out!! Tons of cool stuff in there! Cheers!! ✌🏻😁🥁🎶
No need to post practice videos. Just get better on your own. This rush to show everyone your practice sessions is overkill. I did it for the first several years, on FB, but then realized how narcissistic it seemed. The desire to get better should not be mistaken with the desire to be seen online. Watch your own videos, for sure! Maybe send some recordings to your closest friends and family members that care. But everyone else out there? No need. It will show (your audience) in your actual gigs.
Yeah man, I totally hear you! And I agree to a degree. As I said above, at the beginning, I was more on posting stuff I was practicing but lately I'm only posting play alongs and random beats. The only goal with these posts is to kinda present myself...I mean there are guys, fellow musicians here in Greece that have reached out to me telling me they like what I do and you know that could lead to a new collaboration or a new student...So yeah, basically I'm using the - let's say - power of social media to kinda show what I do/like. Plus, that was a thing I did more intensively during quarantine that there were no gigs. So I had to find a way to keep things going...Again, thanks for the feedback. Really appreciate it! 🙏🏻
Skip, thank you for your feedback. Maybe the posting of mere practicing can be a little bit much, but what we’re talking about here…the posting of performances or play along‘s is different. One has to practice on their own to get something to a level to where they want to film it and then show it to people. When you post and show it to people it makes you strive to be even better. The proof is in the results. I’ve watched Nikos improve remarkably during Covid by filming himself and posting. Also keep in mind that for almost 2 years none of us could play in front of audiences. Nikos is a great example of what can be accomplished if you think outside the box and use what’s available to you.
