I love drumming as you can tell from my channel's 1000 videos. I refer to that chunk-a sound on the hi-hat as pumping the 1\8s or 1\16s because it is the motion of pumping water from a well, using the wrist & arm in a wave like Moeller taught. It's very efficient to move as a wave. "Tension is evil" (like a taskmaster whipping you to make bricks with less straw), so you have to stay "loose as a goose." Fun!
do the big band waltz /// jazz style... !!! do people know that you play to the music in your head and not what they r playing though it sounds like you are listening to them....
@@keithoutterbridge8782 the crash over the floor Toms is exactly the crash that I am talking about. It is the body of a lunar crash and then we did not hammer it with the craters. 🙌🏼
I want one of those dinky port hole cutters! Seriously GOOD to see some of the cool people who made some of my Gretsch drums, you kids rock. Cheers from Downunder!

Ahh man it cuts off on my favorite fill 😢 rakakaka raka ka kaka tsss boom! Saw your clinic at Chops percussion back in 2006 in Indiana. Great info and you inspired me to focus on the drum set! Thanks Stanton!
This isn't an American grip, it's more of a Texas one. With this grip, the pinky finger is practically inactive because it barely touches the stick, and the butt end of the drumstick rests against the wrist when the hand is bent. No, it's not for me. The Moeller technique feels more natural, and the 'parovoz' (locomotive) technique isn't for me either.
Yup, now You have explained straight and simple what a potato is. Now I quess it is up to us how we cook that simple thing to be ass movin' delicacy. It is amazing what and in how many ways the masters cook music up with this sticking, stupefying if not gobsmacking. Less is absolutely less, and that souns good!
It happens to everybody. You need to have a stick holder on the hi-hat side so you don't have to swap hands to grab the stick only from the right side. 😊
@@stantonmooremusic seriously. Funky MF! I was asked to play John Hiatt, A Thing Called Love and I played “in the crack” like you demonstrated from your KMP Amy Winehouse cover, and the singer turns to me and said, we’ve always had to play the Bonnie Raitt version because no one has ever played it like you just did! Dude- I love your playing! Thanks and keep it up!
