It's so crazy how the police had many chances to catch him but refuse to listen to the neighbors saying that she was crazy (mostly steamed from racism) and refuse to investigate dahmer's apartment because police were scared of 'catching' something (homophobia)
The racism and homophobia was what unfortunately allowed him to go on for so long. Just by him simply saying, "gay stuff" and seeing a male foot stopped them from looking. Even though there was literally blood there, crazy how that actually happened.
Yeah it’s crazy, they just didn’t care and think clearly about the young boy and the ethnicity of the people who were getting murdered a lot but I wonder why there was so much homophobia back then because didn’t they have David Bowie and Freddy mercury as celebrities back in those days who were gay or bi or was it just beginning so it was all new to them
So the two officers who escorted the 14 year old, Konerak, back into Dahmer's apartment, were both later fired from the force. But then they were reinstated and the main officer on that case, Balcerzak, even became president of the Milwaukee Police Association. Talk about frustrating.
@@vn5774 if they felt no shame before, why would they feel shame now? Those cops are the spawn of Satan. The fact that they even tried to get their jobs back AFTER knowing what they did led to a 14 year old boy being killed and dismembered shows a complete lack of a conscience.
I cried man when i saw Konerak... like he was just 14 man... and he is laotian and im laotian too, what hurted me the most was the dad was speaking laos to the court and i understood most of it and i cried and like it seems he was a brother to me or i known him but im 17 and he was 14, he would been 46 now...
@SAdako your wrong. I wanted to be a surgeon until I got in high school. My mom let me watch this TV show that used to be on TV that showed real surgeries..cutting into the bodies and I didn't grow up to be crazy or a killer. What it did do was get me all A's in biology and science class because i knew more than the other kids. His dad thought he wanted to be a scientist like him. So no I don't think his dad did anything wrong.
the reason why dahmer wore yellow contacts is because he was into Star Wars, particularly the emperor palpatine since he had yellow eyes. It made him feel powerful, just like him.
condolences and prayers for Konerak Sinthasomphone and his family. dahmer attacked and took his life. not only him but his brother too even knowing that both boys and their family were already struggling. disgusting.
It's even worse how it happened in real life cause in this the young man playing him was wearing underwear when he escaped but the real life konerak was completely naked which tells me that Dahmer had likely already molested the boy by the time the police found him. I'll never get over how it actually happened that the police just led him back to the man that would eventually kill him without even doing a background check or ID'ing young konerak it's so fucking disgraceful.
@@nappyk96konerak not just completely naked but covered with terrible wound too I still remember the story it so sad how this boy gone brutally because of that monster
Konerak Sinthasomphone the 14 year old didn't know what the man looked like or his name. The story is dramatized a ton please rest easy to konerak and all the victims 💓
When you asked why the kid went there knowing what Jeff did to his brother, the answer is that in real life he didn't know. Jeff really did molest his brother but the boys family said that Konerak didn't know who Jeff was at all, not even his name if I'm remembering correctly.
This why I hate the movie sorry not sorry because there lot of wrong thing they did in the movie and make as if the victim look fools by get in Dahmer apartment, in fact they really don't know who's that monster is and what he did worst they be drugged so that he can do everything to the poor victim konerak before running away from his apartment covered with terrible wound and yeah Dahmer drilled his skull :(
This series is like the proverbial nasty car accident you see on the side of the road: you don’t want to look because you know it’s going to be horrible, but some morbid curiosity makes you take a peek. I’ve made it to episode 5 and had to peace-out for a bit to take a break. It’s also rage-inducing that this poor child could’ve been saved had not racism & homophobia been a part of the inept police work.
I know this is serious, but every cut to your dog makes me crack all the way up. Glad your reactions are getting traction. Looks like many folks don’t wanna do this one.
I love and been watching Peters and this has to be the most disturbing role he played and I have seen for years. Its so uncomfortable and he really made me believe he is Dahmer like the dedication to the character is sublime. Like wtf so dreadful and great series
If I didn't know this was based on real life events, I'd have called it bad writing because there's no logical reason that kid should have been returned to him
Konerak's older brother was the one Dahmer got arrested for molesting prior, and the fact that those useless damn cops left that boy with him makes me so furious I can't see straight. You cannot tell me they didn't know know he was in trouble.
I love how this show looks into all the home life stuff without making excuses. Jeffery could be a combination of anything and it's great they didn't take a bias or focus on one aspect.
massive shoutout to the Lao guy, the actor i mean because him playing being drugged was so incredibly chilling just seeing him hang off dahmer like that... good god
I remember reading this story, years ago and the article didnt go into the blatant racism and homophobia that had to be involved for the police to just wash their hands of it. Absolutely inexcusable, but at least it's being illustrated now i guess. UGH So frustrating
This show had me going through the emotions man and none of my friends have watched it so it’s refreshing to be able to watch y’all experience this because I can relate to how you feel, as horrible as this story is it’s important that it shows just how badly we messed and allowed this to go on for so long, it’s a hard lesson for sure, I hope you guys are ok and good luck with the rest of the series
I'm just old enough to remember when the Dahmer trial was broadcast on the radio. Everybody at my mom's work brought in their boomboxes and played it everywhere in the building. I was there that day and was like 6. (from Northern Illinois so sorta close to Milwaukee).
This episode was really tough… this one and the Tony episode. The poor police here is just baffling. If you see pictures are the actual boy, there’s no way that anyone can believe he was an adult, he looked like such a baby 😢 what happens to this family and the policeman here in the later episodes really just made me so upset that ppl are so ugly.
it’s crazy hearing stories all my life living here in Milwaukee, watching this show was hard knowing it happened so close. They did justice in this show showing exactly how it all went through
Everything so far is really accurate. Evan Peters portrayal of dahmer is phenomenal yet so unsettling. Looking forward to episode 3 if you guys continue with the rest of the series, but it's understandable if you choose not to.
Hey I live in his childhood area too! Like less than 25mins away from it. My grandpa actually helped work on the Dahmer home, did siding and such. Crazy to think about.
See the cops in real life were laughing the entire time cuz they thought it's was hilarious about a drunk gay kid these cops in real life were promoted and never loss there jobs due to there negligence
Just wanted to say that I've seen some reactions to this series and yours is the only one I left a like for. You're very respectful and don't crack stupid jokes like it's a comedy.
yeah i just guess i just think about the one on one private interactions between dahmer and his victims and we only know what dahmer says, the show itself seems to be doing a great job with the detail
Nbs being from milwaukee and hearing about this basically my whole life, It was real interesting to be able to actually see how fucked up he really was and how he led people into killing them, etc. I honestly wonder how long he would've lasted in this generation lol. Milwaukee aint the same Milwaukee it was back than lmao. RIP to all the victims tho and condolences to the families!!!!
