We are nomads living in a camper, recording videos about naturopathy and homemade medicine, drinks, and traditional food. We have just reached 4,000 hours of content after 6 months of work. This is our first channel, and it's also the first time we are doing anything related to video editing and filming.
Is it just me or is Sean one of the best presenters on RU-vid. Insane ability to interview and not use "ums" "Ohs" or have challenges presenting info. Very professional!
TAKING NOTES!!! I can really identify with the lady who had long videos and needed many weeks to finish her videos. It's a pain for me but I am so proud of those videos once they are done. I am trying to hack the process to go faster while keeping quality. Live streams have been helping my channel in the meantime.
I am working hard at trying to create as much content as I can. I have been pretty consistent at 1 video per week, but starting next week I am going to shoot for 2 a week. I think I am finally starting to get better at the editing and the video quality, but I could still be better. I am also trying to figure out what my strengths are and trying to play up on those. I am a really shy person naturally, and creating has made me a lot more confident in real life as well.
My channel is about luxury items and styling them on a budget … i love listening to your podcasts .. have learned alot and was able To reach 1400 subscribers in less than a year
Just retired, discussing men and women retiring and how they find a new path with a healthy approach, hobbies, rants, aftermath of Covid and relationships, finding tribe. Diets we all know of, as in Keto, Carvivore. I research health dietary considerations. I will get better, especially if I listen to you! This is more fun than anything else. I like people and wish to help. I also do shout-outs to great channels on these topics.
Greatest advice I can give on my own journey is to just go out and do it. My content isn’t exactly original, but the more I post, the better the videos come out.
I started a channel 4 years ago simply because I want my customers to have a tutorial on how to properly use herbs in a traditional spiritual practice ( there's a lot of bad information out there). The pandemic hit and I stopped posting because I had a family home all the time. Rebooted it a couple of months ago to help people, especially in the early parts of their spiritual journey. Love the fact that there is an equal opportunity platform, but it is absolutely a grind. Thank you for all the helpful information as I build a place where I can take well over a decade of my experience and education about inner growth and help others get information that will hopefully help them along their journey.
I love you Sean Thank you so much!! The comparison trap is real! We love RU-vid and we are uniquely Gil & Renée. The only people I know are you and Gary Vee! Great wisdom, thank you!! I told you, you are the Moses of RU-vid. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm at video #18 on my channel, shorts only, with three outliers so far that hit 10K views quickly vs the regular 500-3K views I get. A heads up to smaller channels: the RU-vid algorithm will often cut off your impressions around 10K received views. This is normal. Those videos might get re-boosted later if viewers keep responding positively to your new uploads. Some things I've learned: if your video doesn't perform well, it's always because the quality could have been better. Use analytics to figure out why and become better at making higher quality content. The hook, content, audio and video quality matters immensely. The title, description and tags also matters for shorts. It needs to grab attention and be satisfying to watch, while helping the viewer with something (a laugh / new tricks / new perspective). At the end of the day, you're serving the viewer and they're paying you with their time and attention. Make it worthwhile for them!
Thanks, Sean, for the reminder! Not a sprint !! You and your team"s material is extremely helpful as a newbie creator. Part of the VRA Fam.❤ Keep up the great work!🙂
I've had my channel Shut-in Yokai for about three months. I have 14 videos. It's hard to not be discouraged when you've been sitting at like 40 subs for the vast majority of that time
This is really good foundational information. What you’re really talking about is having the right kind of mindset . I’m 51 and just starting my RU-vid journey and following the same principles that made me successful in other areas of my life. Love it! Be yourself You are unique Authenticity Add Massive Value Provide Solutions Practice-Screw up -Adjust-Do it again Thanks for the great Video!
Hi Shane, my name is Norma John-Lewis.The entreprenuer model that i follow is Think Media.I've been following you a very long time. I am motivated by you and i am just about to launch my first RU-vid video. Thanks for the tips and thanks for the motivation
Sean’ I’m going to be 73 years old and I’m 3 years in on RU-vid and not looking back, I just published my book last year! Thank you so much for all the encouragement! I have to channels one on motivation and one on Comedy! john tenuto
One of my favorites, as I aspire to create a interview show for multi-generational businesses, is Sean Evans from Hot Ones. The depth of his interview questions and research is insane. It guarantees you will hear something on his show you won't get anywhere else. At the same time, I get he has a research team to dig those out. But he's still a phenomenal interviewer.
Sure, but if you actually breakdown Gary's content, its not that high level, the advantage Gary has is he has the resources to pump out high volume. Gary's style is not unique, he follows what works which if you analyze the current standard, a lot of it comes down to using text captions throughout the whole clip, using different colors on the text and he speaks with passion and purpose. You'll never see Gary putting out a boring video or having low energy in one of his videos.
The Lady from the adventure Channel was spot on. I have a similar Channel but Sports. From the Scripting, narrating, edditing along with a 9-5 and a family/relationship can take a toll but that feeling when the video is complete is priceless.
I am studying to restart my channel around December 20 (waiting for a laptop to arrive and studying now) I was posting before covid. Editing so much my mistakes until I couldn't stand my voice! I'm going to be teaching visualization/ meditation.
Thank you Sean! Great advice. I’m growing one video at a time whether it be one sub or I learn from a bomb. Each video brings me closer to my continued journey on my RU-vid adventure. I will never forget what you said to motivate me over 3 years ago but I heard I one year ago because I found the video, “even if your videos fail, your family will have an amazing log of who you were.” I could only imagine if my grandparents had an opportunity to log who they were with RU-vid. That has stuck with me. I appreciate it. I don’t have 1000 subs but through your free advice I have just started making some money through affiliate links. Thank you sir! HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you and your team.
These are always so inspiring. There’s such a great variety of channels and levels of success. Like Mary, I also started my channel at age 60. However the similarities stop there. I’m never quitting but I apparently haven’t found the secret sauce yet.
I love Minnow Pond intuitive tarot readings. Every week there seems to be a new set of uploads. They’re like dessert. Each set has 12 videos so I don’t know how often he uploads.
My channel is all about creating community - but I'm not sure where to take it from here or more importantly how. For me it's not as much about money or subs (I have 14k) but about the steps to build that community bigger and make it more accessible. I have ideas but not sure how to get there.
How do you get your camera to move from one place to another? What setup and camera software and gear are you using for this podcast? Also love that you are sharing your screen. I love the back and forth dynamic
Use 2 camera- one camera in front of you and other to the side of you, then switch between in the edit. More work! But I find it easier to edit if I make sure I leave a (very slight pause) between the end of one sentence and start of the next.
Thank you so much! Sounds like you’re taking inspiration from Tony Robbins kind of! Am I wrong? Massive action and being resourceful rather than having resources. Great shit
The 5-Day Challenge was full of helpful information, and I loved the guest speakers. The jokes told by Sean on Day 5 for some reason really tickled me, and it was super fun - the sound effects were genius. 🤣😍💜🙏👍❤
My takeaway: RU-vid is a long game and not a quick fix to riches. I need to buy Seans book about RU-vid secrets. I am sure I am going to learn a lot. 😮 I have binge watched a lot of content from Think Media already. ❤
Sean, I do tutorial videos on balloon twisting, crochet, painting, crafting, sewing and have an Etsy shop and want to start a podcast. I just learned how to add affiliate links in my descriptions. I have gotten better at my thumbnails and titles. But still not getting enough traffic. My question is since I have so many different interests should I have different channels for each interest?
Wow! If most people have to post 100 videos before getting traction, then I guess I am doing well. I hit 10,000 subscribers with less than 60 videos. Definitely still a small channel but I have some traction and am moving forward thanks to your course.
Hey hey! I was wondering if you would consider creating a video surrounding kids content? There seem to be tips about RU-vid from a 13+ standpoint, but not for creators making kids content. A LOT of these tips you provide are applicable, but monetizing around COPA laws is a bit daunting for me as a small creator. I read children's books to help teachers and kids with reading. I'd like to be larger to make an impact, but aside from posting volume over a large time-period, I don't see many other ways to excel. Thank you for what you do 🥰
Duuude this was by far one of the best most honest videos of yours I've seen, love it dude seriously the whole vibe of the video was just so honest so 👏👏👏👏👏, maybe someday we'll run into each other around town!!
You could make link up with design based companies using coffee grounds waste. Theres people making sunglasses. Cement structures and packaging. Design and make your own tool from the grounds.
My channel’s about learning piano for normal people. I only have a few videos, trying to find the way I can bring the most value and still stay passionate.
Excellent content, very engaging and I'll try to figure out how to make time for your $1K Challenge. I'm about to embark on a RU-vid journey while promoting a nonprofit startup. Thanks for sharing your expertise!
The funny thing is Vidiq bought over Video Creators (the anti-search-based content channel owned by Tim Schmoyer), then what is the function of the Vidiq Keyword research feature anymore 😂 it is contradictive. Sean is teaching us how to maximize the feature of Vidiq. I think Vidiq has to invest in Think Media instead not Video Creators
@lizhappybeans would LOVE to see reviews of actual coffees (not the gear, but the coffee beans and flavors themselves). For example, the difference between different flavors of Black Rifle Coffee…something like that. I have a Breville espresso machine and I would love ideas on different beans/roasts to try. Going to check out your channel now ☕️⭐️
Super useful! I was told not to start my self-development RU-vid channel by someone I thought would support me. Did it anyway! To anyone working towards their dreams, don't give up. Keep on going! Hope we all become billionaires one day 💰💰💰
My favorite RU-vid that I enjoy is ROBERT GOIVEIA ESQ. He lays out his daily two hour show with the container of a mind map. I watch because he's funny, organizes his information and reads his super chat comments at the end of his live stream!
OMG, one huge opener here! and I haven't even been watching these awesome podcasts on a regular basis as I should (not that I don't mean to or want to, it's complicated....due to time constraints😅).....I was about to open my video editor to work on this week's video but realized that this is what I need, to take a break from time to time, shish!! This is soooo awesome and relaxing to watch. I could not thank you enough if I tried. Thanks!! 😃
Try watching these on a faster speed. If you don't need to follow along watching specific things like video reviews, and are just listening for the knowledge, you can knock it a lot more by speeding things up. After a few seconds you don't even notice🙂
Paul, this may have been shared, but a slight spin on the collaboration topic, maybe a female friend could go through your training, work together and be a co-partner in the training business while helping with the video content and possibly creating the training videos needed to create a course for more trainers to join you as you scale the live, in-person camps/programs..
Growth......growth? Hmmm, that word rings a bell but I'll need to get the dictionary out, I'm not familiar with it at all. tHanks for the fun video! Have a good weekend everyone!
