OK, bet we surely got others too, even if Bradish looks weird. Checked an old save of mine I'm running from OOTP23 and Bradish in 2026 is 55 stuff, 65 slider and cutter, fast and curve sits at 55. 4-0 after 6 starts so looking good. Now that's my scout, but the OSA is just a tick below on some of those pitches. What hurts me more on this OOTP25 (as in 24) is that we no longer got Japanese league in with proper names. What if a new Yamamoto pops up IRL, and ones save coming 2025 just get rubbish fictional Japanese players. It feels OOTP are limping onwards with a hurt leg. I was hoping they increased with more winter ball too. Not just Arizona Fall League. I've tried setting up others for many years but you can't get them to 100% correct and in fact they really need "human" help to populate the teams correct.
What if I told you that one player led all qualified starters in the MLB from 2022-2023 in all of: fWAR, ERA, FIP, xFIP, ERA-, FIP-, SIERA, K%, and K%-BB%? And that pitcher is rated strictly worse across the board than, among others, a pitcher who has never thrown an MLB pitch.
ya i saw his rating and almost shit my pants as a Jays fan but he was top 5 in all pitching stats my first quick sim I don’t know what they did but feels like the ratings don’t matter
OOTP does not manually rate players. Pitches get rolled into the stuff rating and do not matter for the engine. All they are doing with the pitches is making them match what the player should have for a stuff rating.
@@pfholden OOTP imports the stats from real baseball and converts them into ratings. There isn't anybody like manually evaluating Kyle Bradish and changing his ratings. It's all automated with math.
@@YourKidniesWell sure, I mentioned that in the video (my understanding is it is based off ZiPS projections and not stats, but that's beside the point). But my point is Bradish seems rated low in this game, and other players have been manually tweaked in OOTP 25 and other versions for the same reason. This is a regular occurrence in the bug forum every year.
@@pfholden I was so happy when he came to town, too. Was looking for a return to form, and I thought it would be nearly a sure thing. Whoof, talk about a bellyflop on concrete.
I have hundreds of OOTP videos that are not remotely clickbait and have invested thousands of hours in making them. This *one, single video* was meant to be fun, and I'm really sorry that offended you!
