I would love the San Juan team to be named the San Juan Coquis. It's a native frog to the area that are iconic. They're loud and adorable, like the Puerto Rican people.
I'm not even going to get into expansion because you chose ridiculous locations... the NL is not getting both expansion teams either. The Brewers should not be in the AL East, I don't care about your childhood. If the Brewers are in the AL, they need to be with the White Sox and Twins. If they're in the NL then they need to be with the Cubs and the Cardinals. Which reminds me... You separated the Cubs and Cardinals. So switch Chicago and Cincinnati. You put the Braves in the East so why keep the Reds in the West? Again, I liked the 80s too but this is not about that.
I like how you said you weren't going to get into it and then wrote 3 paragraphs. I thought I said this in the video, but I put both in the NL to make the game more challenging for me in the AL. Also lol'd at "I don't care about your childhood." Thanks for watching!
I'm partial to a 6-team (per league) playoffs with a bye for winning an 8-team division, but this is certainly much better than the 'everyone gets in' current format.
@@pfholden I'm sure we've talked about this before but I really like to stretch out the gap between each, playoff spot. Top seed gets a bye, two-seed hosts three-seed in a 'modified Bo3' (I think it's called?) where they get two home games and only need to win one. To me that's a good mix of letting a 3rd-place team get in even if they're in a monster division but also not completely resetting the playing field for them when they could be 15 games worse than the top two seeds.
How would you go about rebuilding a team. I am rebuilding Oakland and obviously the really bad years and then I had a hunch of decent prospects come up and some pretty good pitching ones. The pitching staff can't put it together and the offense is mid. I have the number 1 farm system and have a bunch of elite prospects on the way. Should I wait for them to come up and pay for some talent to go around them or don't spend any money at all?
How do you force expansion and change the divisions in the middle of a sim? I got expansion naturally in one of my sims but I couldn’t figure out how to force it even with commissioner mode
Hey pfholden... I am doing a American Assocation save with an expansion team. is there a way if you did a video of a good way to find players down at these minor legaue levels and how to find good players at these lower leagues when you dont have that much money to sign the good players like how you find players that you can sign to minor league deals?
Your thoughts on Bradish are my thoughts on Logan Webb every year. He ends up being very mid every iteration. His sinker and slider should probably be in the 60’s (20-80), and his movement bumped as well. 2nd place Cy Young and consistently upper tier. In game, he struggles to maintain a 3.80-4.20 ERA. 🤦♂️
@@pfholden I’m glad he performs in some people’s saves! He is consistently mid in my saves going back to OOTP 23 haha Really enjoy your channel btw, thanks for what you do!
Bro the redsox are set up to be a dynasty in this sim. I traded for Glasgow and Shane baz and Kyle tucker and had a couple 104+ Win Seasons in challenge mode. Currently in 2031 my rotation is Ricky teideman, Shane mcclanahan, nick lodolo, tanner houck, and William schmidt (2024 first round pick). Devers at first, Marcelo mayer at second, George Lombard Jr ( trade in 2024 for pivetta and oneill) at short, cam Collier (weird waiver claim. Ethan Salas also went to Colorado on waivers and is mvp) at third. Drew Gilbert at left, drew Jones in center, and some dude Jake Thompson is my rf, closer is camilo doval and dh/utility is Henry Godbout(2025 first round pick). Only bad year recently was 2029 when I was re tooling pitching staff. Only bad thing is that I suck at drafting and we only have two top 100 prospects and they are 16.
What I like to do is change the game log tab on a players main page to show splits instead so I don’t always have to click the tab to see them separately
On the football manager side of RU-vid there's a genre of videos where they look at game-saves from patrons and try to improve their team, or give advice on how to move forward. Might be a fun way to incentivise donations and make some low effort but quality vidz. Totally unrelated to this video but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Brother, I know you're a dad. I know you got things going on and this isn't a main priority for you. But you gotta respect the audience and your videos a little more than to be munching on crackers mid recording. That's bush league shit. You are better than that. Respect yourself man. This isn't twitch you don't have to keep recording when eating. You can take 5 minutes to eat something, then put your best foot forward. Unless you just don't care about your quality. In that case, then keep doing your thing.
Jeez, even as a Mariners fan, J-Rod's expectations could use some tempering... In a few different saves I've checked up on him and seen him produce multiple 12 WAR seasons. Devs might need to tweak him a bit
How do you customize the Summary screen with stats you want on the player profile page? I know how to customize what stats show up in the lineup screen but didn’t know you could filter stats in the player profile screen. Love the series so far!
Go to the batting or pitching stats page on the players profile, view, edit and add a new row then edit that row with the stats you want and move it up to the top in the edit screen
Some people may think it’s boring and I feel it’s why a lot of people cut this out of their videos, but I really appreciate seeing your process of how you look for people to trade. You were my original go-to channel when I was looking up OOTP tutorials when I first started playing and I learned a lot of tricks for how to get high value trades from you. In this video I learned something new too: looking at teams underperforming and see who they have starting at the position I want to trade for and see if I can give them something to help their rebuild.
There’s a tab on the bottom of the player page that’s shows their recent games you can switch it to player splits. Just thought this might be helpful to look at players splits quicker
I mean I get why you’re looking for a righty CF, but Varsho has a .188 BABIP in just 72 PAs against LHP. Some of these samples are really just too small to make big changes for. Personally, I think giving Rojas the start in CF against lefties every 3rd or 4th would do the trick.
Why is your scouting accuracy so low? I wouldn't be making any moves for guys who you don't have a good report on... Edit: just realized you were on OSA, that explains it, I definitely have made that mistake before 😂
