Thanks a lot Danny. Fort Knox is a nice shortcut vs 1.e4, but for long term goals I would recommend the Caro Kann. Anyways there will also be a Pirc speedrun soon ❗️
I’m probably gonna start playing the pirc more and the czech as i’ve been playing a grunfeld opening with g6 a lot. Been getting really frustrated playing the caro kann online.

You legit play all the same lines I do. Right down to taking and playing Qa5 against Qe2 in the Two Knights. This is extremely helpful to me as a Caro Khan player. So glad I found your content.
Excellent content, one of the most instructive series I have found, really! (It's ok to analyze deep GM games, but not so helpful for lower rated players.)
The Qd6 leads to long engine lines that are so hard to understand. I believe Lc0 (when it was the best engine) and Stockfish drew in that position but it was a crazy game with lots of shuffling and playing cat and mouse.
Love this series, thanks so much! I've been liking the Caro, it forces me to up my late middle and end game play which is lacking :). I'm a new player looking for solid openings that give chances to slowly outplay my opponent without taking too many risks, the Caro fits the bill as a defense. Do you have a recommendation for openings as white which share similar themes to the Caro?
Queen's gambit, especially if black declines, is solid like this. The exchange variation leads to the Carlsbad pawn structure, like in the exchange Caro, the London, etc
I’ve just gone back to playing e5 against e4. Sicilian is nice when they play d4 and you can take d4, but the caro kann has been downright frustrating for me when every opponent plays the advanced over and over. Might have to watch more your videos.
The main line with …Bf5 is playable, but then you also have to learn a new line vs two knights. For me it’s just simpler to take on e4 and play…Nf6 all the time!
