When it rains, it pours? It definitely poured at Overland Expo West, and that wasn't even the worst of my problems on this trip. The Jeep Gladiator broke down catastrophically TWICE on this 2 week trip. It was definitely an adventure.

@paulhasty8388
@paulhasty8388 Год назад
@@TheStoryTillNow That's not the point the engine is no good without the transmission and transfer case so if that powerful engine destroys the transmission and transfer case your still stuck and no where. Is the engine installer going to warranty the rest of the drive train so your not out of pocket for repairs? What about once the warranty is up? How many miles have you driven since the install? How hard have you been driving the daylights out of it? I'm not rich!

Maybe it has nothing to do with it (but prolly does) but I've never understood why the youtube offroad community swaps out there stock engines for 600hp hemi's. Can't help but think that all that power is hard on drivetrain and for a vehicle that's designed to go slow over rough terrain...the only people you're impressing with that engine are the posers on youtube and the guys at the local cars and coffee. I can't help but thing that the stock engine and drivetrain would not have left you stranded... Sweet truck though!

I love the Trail Destroyer as a build concept. Unfortunately, not being able to drive 300 miles without 15 extra gallons of fuel + a platform that was not actually designed for the amount of torque and horsepower consistantly delivered... keeps it just a really cool concept. Almost like a SEMA build, where the vehicles would break if you actually tried to drive them. Let's just say that there will be plenty of the "I broke the Trail Destroyer... Again" type videos....

Wow, what an experience that must have been. I've got to hand it to Rob for demonstrating exactly how this community operates when something goes wrong. His family adapted to help in this situation, which I'm sure must have been difficult while traveling with a small child. Shaun, nicely done troubleshooting and problem solving both significant breakdowns. I was pretty shocked that in a couple of days, the trail destroyer was on its way to the next event. I'm sure by now you've got a resolution on the transmission issue. I'm looking forward to seeing the next video with that information. I'm sure EPIC will want to take a close look at the truck and AMW will likely want to get some feedback as well. Sincerely, what a flippin' awesome video.

Well, unfortunately you have proven why I finally left any and all Jeep vehicles. Seriously the biggest pile of junk there is. I'd bet that Tundra ( even though it's the latest gen), will have far fewer issues than the Gladiator. No matter how much money, and quality parts I threw at them, every single Jeep left me stranded somewhere. It is not a matter of "if, but "when". I remained loyal for many years, but I just could not take having a vehicle that I could never relax and enjoy the journey, but continually waited for the inevitable break down. Of course Jeeps are "cool", but seriously? Besides that, a breathtaking video, as usual!
